GTKY: Travel

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would your next vacation be and why? Extra points for adding a picture! ;)

Re: GTKY: Travel

  • A beach in Thailand with just DH. We were planning on going for our 5th wedding anniversary but decided to start our family sooner so when 5 years came along we were not willing to go that far away from infant DS.

  • My dream vacation is to the Maldives with just DH. I want to stay in an over the water room. Maybe one day...

  • I'm interested in neolithic sites. I'd like to tour places like Avebury or Newgrange, or Skara Brae in Scotland.
  • Man, I don't even know. Any more than a couple of days away from the kids and I start to seriously miss them. I don't know that I would enjoy a big trip to someplace far away enough to bother.

So, keeping in mind that I'd bring the kids along, I'd want to plan something they'd love, which would most likely land us at Disney. Again. And we're actually planning on that for 2019.

I've also really wanted to see the Keys and NO; I have a girls trip planned to NO this spring.

    I'm no fun at this!

  • Prague. Without a doubt. I love history...especially European history, so my dream vacations always involve ancient cities with lots of history. I wanted to visit Prague last time DH and I went to Europe, but we weren't able to fit it into our itinerary, so it's now at the top of the bucket list!
Fun fact (and because I always love a good excuse to share travel photos): From the time I was tiny, if you asked me where I would go if I could go anyhwere in the world, the response was always, "England!" I'm glad I was able to check that off my list, but I will definitely go back one day! London is my favorite city. So here's a photo of DH and I at Stonehenge:

  • @auntieraindrop Avebury is amazing! I can vouch for it! So cool to see it circling the whole town. Pretty sure I have a picture somewhere of DS sleeping in the stroller next to a stone.

@cyanope Prague is one of my favorite cities. In November you can get mulled wine on pretty much every street corner.

AFM the next thing DH and I really want to do is a cruise through the Norwegian fjords. It just look so beautiful! It won’t let me upload a photo because mobile Bump is being dumb, but just google it. You won’t be sorry.

  • Ugh. Such a tough choice. I lived in Ireland and miss it fiercely, so I would say Galway to start....
But since your post says "vacation" - I would love to go back to Hawaii. DH and I spent two weeks and fell in love with Kauai on our honeymoon. We are thinking of going back for our 10 year anniversary - hoping by then we'll be ok with leaving the kiddos for more than a weekend.

Also so on the bucket list (besides so many places in Europe, and a trip to Australia) is the Maldives...

  • Norway! DH and I took a trip to Paris back in 2015 and on our way back, we had a layover in Oslo. Our plane to the US was broken so we had to stay in Oslo for 3 days and we fell in love with it! We want to go back and explore more of the countryside and possibly see some northern lights!

  • My husband and I would love to eat and drink our way through Italy.
  • I delayed replying because I can't pick just one place... But if money were no object and I could pick my next vacation today I'd pick Seychelles or Bora Bora

  • @sjb2215 I loved Iceland soooo much! Enjoy every second of it!
  • For sure, hands down, London. It's one of the only places left in the world i want to go, and i'll want to stay there for a while to see everything.

  • I want to go to Italy so badly! I love everything about it there! It's such a beautiful country with lots to do (and eat and drink). Plus I'm a a total wine lover!!
