  • BFN today.  I'm heartbroken.  No eggs left twice now and no funds left to do this again- so I think I'm done.  I feel completely hopeless.

I may come back to check on you all but for now I'm just going to hibernate a bit.  Thanks ladies for being here for me for the past month.  It's meant more than you know.  I hope you all have wonderful happy pregnancies and beautiful healthy babies.  I wish you all the best.

  • @cxsimo08. Oh, dear.  So many hugs to you.  I don't even know what to say.  It's like we reach the end of our rope with ttc, and then we tie a knot and hang on when we try ivf.  And even that doesn't work every time, either.  It's so cruel really.  I can only relate best to how I felt when we got DHs azoo dx.  I hate to admit, but I had those passing thoughts like my life was over.  But somehow we found a way to pick up the pieces and move forward.  And I know you will, too.  Please know you are loved and cared for, and welcome anytime, to lurk, post, take a break, pm, whatever you need to do bumpwise.  But please do be gentle with yourself, and take good care.  Hot baths, long walks, aimless drives, ridiculous workouts - whatever you need to do to feel just a tiny bit okay.  That's what I hope you'll do. ❤❤❤
  • @DecemberDoll27 I’m so sorry about your CP. unfortunately I’ve been there multiple times so please PM if you need to talk. We are all here for you. Whatever you do don’t blame yourself - I know it’s not easy but as someone once told me we do not have the power to control these things.

@cxsimo08 so sorry you feel like this is the end for you. I hope that in time you pick up the pieces and figure out what’s best for you. Are you located in the US? If so, is changing jobs for you or DH an option to find a plan with fertility coverage? I work in the insurance industry so if you ever need advice feel free to reach out.

AFM: still waiting to hear about the test results. Transfer will be around Nov 6th at the earliest. Hoping my little fighters pass this test with flying colors. Sorry I’ve been lurking recently - just need time to come to terms with reality. Wishing everyone GL and Fx for BFPs.
  • @cxsimo08 Oh Christina I'm heartbroken for you, be kind to yourself! I'm so sorry!  I know your journey isn't over!!  Take all the time you need!

looking for a job with coverage is a great idea.  I hear city jobs offer good coverage.  I've been OOP I get it with every card maxed out.

  • @latvaughanash hope your ET went smoothly, when will your beta be? And how many frosties did you end up with?

@artemis618 hope you get a good update on your "late bloomers" today and have a good number of frosties for testing

@adirat fx on your D5 update today for a good number for testing and freezing too

@loverin good luck with the beta today!

AFM I had strong cramps in the night and heavy spotting (but not enough to fill a panty liner, so technically spotting), still applied my crinone this morning which has of course slowed things down a bit, and am waiting for a call back from the clinic to see if they want me to go in, still use the crinone the next days, or what. I assume the crinone is the only thing preventing AF from coming in full. Had a good hug this morning with DH before work and trying not to kill anyone in the office at the moment as 1) I'm in pain with cramps which makes me snappy normally and 2) definitely in the anger stage of grief and extra quick to lash out.
My anger is a bit directed at the clinic and a bit at me at the moment - my progesterone levels have been really high, and I had all the strong symptoms that it was working, so we didn't re-test the levels in the last week, whereas maybe I should have pushed to have done so. Since it was public holiday the clinic was closed from Friday until today, so in reality even if we'd tested in Thursday it probably was still ok and if it dropped after that I would have had no way to get checked, but, well my RE will get the full Spanish Inquisition on it when I get to speak to him...
And the planner in me is already trying to pre-block dates in my calendar for November round 2. At these times I need to have the next actions clearly laid out in front of me, so I can move forward step by step.

@cxsimo08 I’m so sorry my friend. My heart hurts for you. I hate that with all the work and tears it’s not always what we’d like it to be, it doesn’t seem fair. You’re in my thoughts, know we are here for anything you need in this process!

@emmasemm my heart goes out to you as well! Be kind to yourself the next few days, we are here for whatever you need right now. You are a warrior and use that planning to keep your mind off of things!

AFM Just got beta drawn. I’d like to go puke right now while I wait.

  • @loverin GL :)

@emmasemm Ah, shoot, I'm so sorry to hear it :( I think planning ahead sounds great if it's giving you comfort and confidence to move forward! Your RE better be ready for you!

  • @emmasemm, I am so sorry you are going through this! But not all the hope is lost just yet! My thoughts are with you today!

@cxsimo08 I am so incredibly sorry for your BFN, be kind to yourself and don't lose hope. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better right now, but just know that you have a bunch of virtual strangers who wish you well.

@loverin hey girl, hang in there! You should be our first success in September IVF group! I have everything crossed for you!

AFM, I am trying to not let myself fall into a deep depression. I actually feel ok today. I had a dream today that an old man I don't know told me that I should not cry. That CP means I can get pregnant and that we should do FET and everything will be good. For some reason that dream gave me hope back. We are doing blood work on Friday again to see if HCG goes to zero and then we will schedule a FET. My poor DH is so upset it hurts me. He really took it to heart, he was so excited about this pregnancy, and I do not know how to make him feel better.

  • @DecemberDoll27 Oh friend I'm so sorry for what you are going through :( I wish there were some magic words, but there aren't. My husband and I both became extremely depressed after my loss this year. I spent days in bed. I think I took a whole week off work followed by "working from home" another week because I couldn't handle going outside. Be kind to yourself. This is a trauma and you deserve to grieve.

Give yourself several days to grieve before you try to do anything about it. Try to lean on each other in your sadness, instead of isolating yourself from each other. You don't have to be normal today. If you take a shower, if you eat something, that's a victory. If you find something small that keeps you holding on a few more minutes -- watching a TV comedy together, a podcast, a novel, a craft project, a walk to the park, a call with a friend -- that's a victory.

It seems impossible to get through. So many of us know this pain and it's horrible and unfair and nothing makes it feel better for a long time. But you will get to a place where you are ready for FET and you will get your take-home baby. <3

  • @adirat Thank you! Your words mean so much right now! When are you gonna know your PGD results?

  • My heart goes out to everyone who is hearing and coming to terms with bad news over  the last few days on here. I am sad to report I am also in that category (most likely). POAS yesterday and again this morning and no second line.  Have beta tomorrow morning. MEH. As far as being angry, I’m right there with some of you. This cycle was just so rushed and cobbled together. I look back and am angry with myself for not having the mind and strength of heart to tell my doctor to wait until my next AF and properly check surge again.  We didn’t suppress, just went right into stims, which had me starting with a higher AFC but then yielded horrible stimulation and even worse fertilization (even with 100% ICSI)

Hubby and I are heading away on holiday for the rest of the week after beta. A good glass of wine and a deep tissue massage is most certainly in order.

Then we will discuss our next steps, whether we ride this crazy train again, move to DOR or even adoption.

This process seems to harden your heart once you hit a certain point, and I think that is what makes me the saddest.

Good luck to those of you who have amazing successes. I couldn’t be happier for you all!

Hugs and strength and virtual fist bumps to all of my fellow warriors, still fighting to build the family we all want to have.

  •  @cmiller73 sorry you're not getting a squinter but i would still like to hold out hope for you!  Hoping you have an enjoyable time away!  Glad you're still thinking of next steps!  Try not to beat yourself up about the cycle, I do the same and we'll never know what the differences could have done or not!

@latvaughanash congrats your PUPO yay!!!  Next week will be hear soon enough!  (something I keep trying to remind myself of too!!) Hoping a couple more frosties pull through for you!!

@DecemberDoll27 I'm sorry you're in this situation its very hard to bounce right back from.  I have bad days of depression still, allow yourself to grieve and go through the motions.  I'm glad you had a dream that is hopefully foreshadowing your future!

@emmasemm you're a true warrior and I know that you're going to have your miracle baby!  Please don't beat yourself up I do it all the time and still do.  We never know what could've should've for our cycles.  You've done everything and I always admired from the beginning your passion for your one egg this cycle.  I know how important each egg means for us.  You did everything right please don't forget that!!

adirat hoping you get a great report today or tomorrow with lots of frosties ready for pgd!

  • Thanks everyone for your kind words today, it really means a lot. Which sounds cliched but it's true.

@dragonette505  Thanks a lot for popping in here. Beta was supposed to be Friday but they've said I can go in tomorrow already so that's what I'll do. Apart from anything I want to stop the progesterone and get AF asap if it's truly a BFN. They seem most concerned that it might be ectopic. Had the old, if the cramps get stronger, if you feel pain in your shoulder speech again...

@loverin any news on your beta? I'm needing success stories more than ever today

@adirat you hit the nail on the head, I actually think my RE was already a little scared of me, when he sees my extended decision tree and my excel analyses he's going to run for the hills ;-)
Any news on your day 5 report? Keeping everything crossed for you!

@dcemberdoll27 thank you for coming back even though you are hurting yourself. are you back at work, or taking time off? I felt I had to push myself to keep going today as I know if I stay in bed all day I will fall into a big hole that it's really hard to get out of. But it was the right thing for me for today. Let's see tomorrow. I'm just taking it one day at a time for now.

@cmiller73 oh I do hope you get a nice surprise with beta tomorrow. Though good wine and massage sounds like a good way to recover. Maybe I hit an Aperol Spritz on the weekend... mmm... fist bump right back at ya :-)

@latvaughanash yay to being PUPO! wow next Wednesday is really soon for your beta! That will be here before you know it! Fx for a good update on your other blasts too!

@artemis618 any more news on your embies they were still watching?

@hopeful_mom you are keeping me inspired that it is possible to have success after many difficult cycles! Keep popping in to say hi please so we can keep a glimmer of light in our sights!

And for tonight I'm snuggled up on the couch with DH watching Gremlins and eating ice cream - life could be better, but it could also be worse :-)

  • @emmasemm hang in there! I hope it is not EP (TW  I had one and it sucked really bad TW). I actually only took Monday off and was back to work yesterday, keeping busy distracts me and I actually love my job. ( I do QA for a drug company) Could it be just spotting? Are you cramping badly with it? I refuse to lose hope for you! And I will have a glass of wine or two tonight, I will take small things that make me happy for now. Still waiting on the stupid bleeding to start, we are expecting my HCG to go to <5 by Friday already.
@loverin I can't wait to hear your good news!

I miss chatting with you every day on here, so I can't stay away long!

    @DecemberDoll27 You deserve that wine!

  • Wow, so much has happened and I’ve fallen behind again so quickly after like a day (We spent the day out hiking with our pup).

@cxsimo08  @emmasemm  @cmiller73 I’m so, so sorry :(. This process is so excruciating.  I’m thinking of you.

Congrats @loverin !  Yay for happy news :). Fx that beta keeps rising.

    @latvaughanash  Congrats on being PUPO!

@adirat I pretty much always have to wait till day 6 because our embryos are slow.  My last RE assured me day 6 is totally normal.  So as of yesterday, we had three blasts and today...

AFM (thanks for asking for @emmasemm), we had seven more blasts make it to biopsy as of this morning for a total of 10 (again, twice as many as the most we’d ever sent for testing in a single cycle), and RE says results should take about a week. We were kind of spoiled with our last shop b/c one time we even got the blast report on Friday and had the results the following Monday afternoon.  But at this age, who knows?  DH is petrified we’ll end up with no normals like we did last cycle, but all we can do at this point is hope for the best.

  • @loverin Congrats!  How are you surpriding DH again!! So glad you got some good news!! Everything crossed that beta keeps doubling!!!

@Artemis0685 whoah that is AMAZING!!! Double digits blasts u go girl!!! I know how hard it is to keep cycling but I think you found your magical protocol in every way!!! Can't wait for more good news!!!

@emmasemm I'm glad u relaxed and had some enjoyment!! It's tough! OH works crazy hours I had to beg for a bac rub, anything to take my mind off of worrying! I love all your spreadsheets I feel so unorganized.  I would start putting questions in my phone to ask my RE and she would be nice asking if we covered everything but you know I would forget something and email her.  Some emails I get a phone call back and that's when I know I e asked too much

  • Congrats @loverin! I hope they have you in again to check the doubling soon and then onto 1st US with @hopeful_mom and @fuzzydust!

And @artemis618 I have screenshotted the details you sent me of your protocol and printed them for my "package" for my follow up! 10 is an awesome number of blasts for anyone but for us "more mature specimens" that is some kind of miracle! Now I KNOW I can do more than one egg per cycle too! Maybe not as high as you, but you pretty much doubled eggs and like you say have more blasts from one cycle than from the other three added together. So if I had 3 with 1, if I could get six from the 4th I think I would also have a chance.

Spreadsheet is I think up to date, let me know if I missed something in all the craziness.

@cmiller73 still keeping fx for you today and for @adirat for the freeze report

  • @BusinessWife haha that gif is on point! Thank you

@adirat thank you!!! That did! I guess I was expecting the HCG to be higher and then not getting to talk with my doctor I wasn't sure what that number actually meant lol

    @DecemberDoll27 thank you so much!

@artemis618 those are incredible numbers, I'm so happy for you!! I'm glad it's "only" a week you have to wait but I can imagine that week is torturous! I know there's the worry of normal embies but I'd hope with that high of numbers you'd have better odds? I don't know how that works statistically but I have my fingers crossed for you! When will they be sent off to test so you can start the week count down?

@hopeful_mom thank you! I ended telling him the correct beta day because I didn't think it'd be fair to spring a negative on him when he wasn't expecting it if that was the result. BUT I did wake up yesterday morning and do a HPT before my beta and it was positive! I was still skeptical until I had the HCG number just to make sure it wasn't a fluke but I went ahead and woke him up at 6 AM (after working a shift until 1 AM) gave him a coffee mug with scorching hot coffee that he had to drink to read that said "you're going to be a daddy" on the bottom. Poor guy did not know what was going on but it was still nice to be able to surprise him lol.

@emmasemm lol at your sadistic comment. I'm glad they had you do it today instead of making you wait another day. You are a force to be reckoned with and I hope and have everything crossed that today is a surprise result for you! But if not, it sounds like you'll be prepared and ready to take on the next step with some helpful information from this group! I wish I were as organized as you my friend!

I know I am new and jumped in towards the end, but I do appreciate the kind words that I received.  I was super down about the fact that I tested at 8dpt, and saw 2 negatives.

    *TW*

My beta was yesterday, and we got a BFP!  I cannot believe it!  My beta level was 436, so I don't KNOW what those pregnancy tests were about.

We are not out of the woods by any stretch, we had 2 losses this year and are cautiously optimistic.  Want to be positive, but a lot of us know too well that it is hard sometimes.

I just wanted to share our good news...although I know not everyone has good news, and I want to note that my thoughts and prayers are with you all...

  • @Jaygrand congrats on your BFP!!

THAT BETA level, wow! Goes to show you that you never really know until beta what you're going to get, if I had tested even 2 days before beta I don't think I would have gotten a positive on Hpt, mine barely showed up on one home test yesterday while it showed up fine on 2 others (I went a little crazy).

AFM Just talked to my drs office and they said as long as my beta was over 50 they were ok with that. I'm doing another beta tomorrow to make sure it's doubling and if all looks good they'll set up my ultrasound! I'm nervous for tomorrow but fingers crossed all looks good. In other good news, they said my estradiol and progesterone levels looked "fabulous" so no more IM injections for me . It's silly but i'm nervous to stop them, it's nice to have that safety net right now.

@loverin Good luck with your beta tomorrow, hopefully everything is progressing for you!!  I understand being nervous to lose your safety bet, BUT hey - your levels are FAB!

The HPT are the worst...I know some are better than others, and sometimes it is all we have to cling on to, in hopes of getting a BFP, but UGH - never again.  I was better off not knowing.
