Re: WTO/TWW Week of 10/1

  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 4

WTO - WAYDTGKU: HIO, CM, OPKs

    TWW - Timing:

    TWW - Testing:

    R/R:

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most?  My husband does a particular character sometimes that makes me laugh hysterically!  It's this sort of old man impression and he says hes going to give me kisses in the voice.  It's one of those things that he can't force either, it just sort of happens, like randomly in the car.

  • Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD/DPO: 14

WTO - HIO, CM, PNV, OPK

    TWW - Timing:

    TWW - Testing:

R/R: I am very heartbroken about the world right now. And that's all I have to say about that.

CS/Q: nah, looks like should be O'ing later this week

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most? I have a totally random sense of humor so anything nonsense. Or fails, epic fails always make me lol.

  • @dreamscapes_ I'm sorry you are single-handedly keeping these boards going right now! I'll commit to starting either the WTO/TWW or chat thread this next week and get over my fear of suggesting a 'lame' GTKY :)

@KFrob Sorry to see you back for another round :( When the thing that makes you laugh the most is the person you love the most, it makes for a pretty great life!

@lifesabeach85 Hope you get in some good timing this week pre-O! And yes, it is numbing and heartbreaking all at once. The world is better today than it has ever been in so many ways, and yet here we are.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 13/4 (?)

WTO - WAYDTGKU: temping, CM, OPKs, PNVs

TWW - Timing: -1 if I believe FF, which I don't so much

TWW - Testing: Will wait for AF to come or no

R/R: I've been pretty sick the past week with what I hope is not, but suspect may be, the flu. We've largely written off this cycle as a result, although FF thinks my fever was a temp shift and that I O'd just before falling under the weather. So I'm sure as we get closer to AF I'll get angsty and hopeful regardless, which is fine. Keeps it interesting.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most?  I'm such a child, but I cannot not laugh when someone falls down. I just find physical comedy hilarious. Must get that in check before I have children of my own!
  • @emiliadkay My child once ran straight into a giant window and was stunned afterwards because he was confused (not hurt at all). It was in public so other people were looking our/his direction all concerned and my DH and I are there cracking up laughing while DS is laying on the ground confused. Babies/toddlers fall all the time, and probably 90% of the time it doesn't actually hurt them, so laugh away! :)

  • Hey everyone!  I took a bit of a break, but I think it's maybe time to come back.  I missed you guys!

    @dreamscapes_ Thanks for starting this!

@lifesabeach I know, I'm heartbroken, too.  I'm feeling more and more hopeless that we'll ever see any change, too.

@emiliadkay Ugh, I think I'm going to have one of those cycles, too.  I'm just hoping we'll hit at least -2, -1, or O.  Also, I think falling down is hilarious.  And I figure it's good to show your kids that falling down is nothing to get upset about (unless they get hurt, and then you're upset about the injury, not the falling down).

@CecilB93 I would die laughing if I saw that.

    Month/Cycle: 3/4

    CD/DPO:  CD 8

WTO - WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, CM.  Hopefully this cycle will also include sex.

    TWW - Timing:

    TWW - Testing:

R/R: Rant: Last cycle, we hit only -3, so I'm really hoping we can do better this time.  Unfortunately, DH is in rehearsals until 10:30pm all week, and he's getting a cold.  I expect to O on Saturday, so I'm really hoping he feels better by then. Rave: (TMI warning?) I got a menstrual cup.  I like it!  I definitely need a bit more practice getting it in place, but I didn't have any leaks and I didn't make a mess while removing it.  And it was pretty sweet only worrying about it twice a day.  It's really freaky seeing 12 hours worth of blood all at once, though.

CS/Q: Nope.  I'm just psyched that my temperature went down at the beginning of the cycle this time.  It was really disconcerting last time when it didn't.

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most?  I think those "Damn you Autocorrect" things are hilarious.  I seriously can't stop laughing when I start reading those.  I think I just like the absurd.
  • @emiliadkay Thank you!  And your comment about my husband made me tear up in a happy way  :)  I'm really lucky I married my best friend.

@KFrob sorry your last cycle didnt work out even with all the HIO

@CecilB93 If you can't laugh at your toddler, what's the point, amiright?

@Secretstapler I am looking at a weekend O too... Good luck! Yes I have heard that sex helps with getting KU. That and just relaxing. Relaxing and sex. (cue giant eye roll). Hopefully you can still convince H to roll in the hay even if he is tired and sic@CelticWife

@emiliadkay Yes your O looks very suspect without EWCM and Neg OPK. Hopefully it won't be for a few more days and you and DH will feel better and up to some more BD.

edit because my post got cut off

  • @KFrob My DH does character voices, too!

@lifesabeach85 I think a lot of us are right now, to be honest <3 Good luck with your timing this month!

@emiliadkay It's not a problem! I just get bored when no one's around, lmao. I have a hard time with physical comedy that involves possible injury. Basic falls are one thing, but the things of people falling off of trampolines and stuff, I'm like "Nooooooooooo". Good luck next month!

@Secretstapler You're welcome! Good luck with the menstrual cup! I don't think I could deal with one of those. It just icks me out. I don't really mind the blood in general, but I have such a heavy flow and so much clotting these last few months that I'd rather not.

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most? My best friend, for the most part. He's hilarious, and I love him and miss him (he lives a thousand miles away).

  • @secretstapler I've thought about getting a cup! I am using mostly cloth pads right now, but I hate the way they feel and I'm always worried it's gonna move. Plus, you can see the outline of it on my butt  :| I've always wondered how much 12 hours added up to lol, pretty sure that will freak me out if I ever get a cup. Which brand do you have?

  • @CecilB93 That crash sounds completely adorable in a semi-tragic way. I'd've died.

@Secretstapler I'm so intrigued by this cup thing! I was looking into those underwear that are supposed to function like a pad/tampon, but this sounds like it could be a better first step.

@dreamscapes_ We're so lucky to live in a day and age where it's possible to maintain long distance friendships and keep those really awesome people in our lives! Though at 1,000 miles, I'm sure the times in between visits feel way too long.
  • @lifesabeach85 I know what you mean. I'm tired of feeling angry all the time :(

@emiliadkay I hope you're feeling better soon. I'm sorry it might have thrown off your chart!

@CecilB93 my son did the same thing at Chick-fil-A not long ago. We were cracking up! He clearly wasn't hurt, just like "WTF just happened?" Then he walked up to the glass and put his hand on it to make sure it was there

  • Ah so much work and no time for bumping. But I just told my boss I'm taking today off (and off this weekend too) so here I am! :D

    Month/Cycle: 6/6

    CD/DPO: 2

WTO - WAYDTGKU: bbt, going to try to be better with PNVs, drink some RRL tea today, tracking CM, I may have just Googled "fertility acupuncture" too

R/R: wondering if maybe it's time I bring up some ideas to DH about things he could be doing to help us TTC (like coq10 supplements or something), but I just feel so awkward doing so. But now that we're on cycle 6 I kinda feel like we're obviously not doing everything right

    CS/Q: just bleeding

GTKY: What makes you laugh the most? I love puns and "dad jokes". DH makes them ALL THE TIME and I love it!
  • @JennyColada Maybe bring it up as an overall being healthier discussion?  Talk about the benefits of you both being healthy and how it affects your fertility.  And the added benefits of having energy from healthy eating, vitamins, and exercise for when the baby arrives.
  • @lalala2004 hope your OBGYN appointment went well! Anything to report?

@JennyColada sorry AF showed up for you again! Test guys can be extra sensitive to suggestions that they may need assistance with their swimmers. I don't know much about what is actually supposed to help boost male fertility other than general healthy lifestyle choices (moderate drinking, healthy weight etc) but might be worth shooting an email to your OB about.

So got my positive OPK this morning just as I suspected. Happens to coincide with the first night of the playoffs and DH is a diehard Cubs fan. Will have to convince him to stay sober enough and me to stay up long enough to have a private after party...

  • @emiliadkay We definitely are! I can't imagine not having him (and our other Chicago friends) in our lives. And yes, the time between visits is way too long. I haven't seen him since just after the wedding.

@lalala2004 That's good tears, right? Not the bad kind? :) That's great, though!

@JennyColada I've missed you! I have read that even if you have "perfect" fertility, it can take up to a year to get pregnant. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I don't remember, and I know you've mentioned. As far as your DH, I agree with the others (although I really have no room to talk, given my weight).

@lifesabeach85 Good luck with keeping your DH sober enough to HIO! :D

  • @emiliadkay @CecilB93 @dreamscapes_ Part of the reason I decided to try the cup is because my flow has been pretty light since the IUD came out, so I was pretty sure I would be able to deal with it.  I got the MeLuna brand.  I read a review of different kinds and they rated it the highest because they have the most options to customize the fit.  I have nothing to compare it to, but it's comfortable and doesn't leak, so I think I got a good fit.  I did consider cloth pads, but I was worried they would be visible.  I am also skeptical of how well they work, and don't want to deal with carrying around dirty pads if you change it while you're out.  My sister has tried the underwear that works like a pad and likes it.  It seems like good back up, but I wouldn't trust it on its own, at least on a day with more than spotting.
  • @lifesabeach85 no surprises. She basically just said due to my low body fat (but I'm mid range of normal BMI, so....?) I'm probably just extra sensitive to prolactin and that cutting back on nursing may help. Just that it is what it is. Nothing I didn't already know!

@dreamscapes_ yes, laughing so hard I cry!

@JennyColada personally I wish men would be as involved in the TTC process as women generally are. Have you ever shown him The Great Sperm Race? It was very educational for my DH. I know I was obsessive about him not putting his laptop on his lap and using a lap desk when we were first TTC, and he complied  If he wants a baby, too, I don't see why he wouldn't want to try anything that might help!

  • @dreamscapes_ I'm 33, DH is 36 (AMA :D lmao). He's generally quite healthy: takes a multi vitamin, works out. This is a huge TW coming up but: I got pregnant at 18 (didn't continue with it), /TW so I feel like there's not much to say why I wouldn't/couldn't be KU by now. Which also isn't a really fair assumption because anything could have happened in my body in the past 15 years.
  • @JennyColada on the one hand, I can tell you from personal experience that just because you got ku once easily, doesn't necessarily mean it will be just as easy later on. We conceived DD more quickly than this time TTC. On the other hand, I can one hundred percent understand why you'd be concerned about DH in that regard. I know the general standard is a year, but I have also heard of doctors who will do a basic SA at six months of dedicated TTC or even before you start. Of course getting DH to go in for that would take a lot more sweet talking than simple lifestyle changes but might be worth you reaching out just to get the ball rolling?

  • @JennyColada I agree with @lifesabeach85. Hopefully they'll be able to give him an SA, considering the facts of your case.

  • @JennyColada: I’ve been creeping on you and hate to see you dealing with this. I wish I had great, magic advice for you but how about a creepy lurker person hug instead? Perhaps some dad jokes? They’re my favorite.
