What's on the menu this week?
Monday - Mini Pizzas (DD loved them)
Tuesday - Brats and Chopped Salad
Wednesday - Tilapia Parmesan with broccoli and garlic butter rice
    Thursday - baked potato bar
Friday - eh, lost motivation to plan this far out...

What is your favorite meal that is quick/easy to prep?
Fresh tomato "sauce" and ravioli (link) is so quick and yummy, I do cut down on the amount of butter though.

What is your favorite crockpot meal?
    Chicken and dumpling soup (link)

    What is your favorite soup?
    Broccoli Cheese - link
    Chicken Gnocchi - link
(use whole or 2% milk, add extra veggies, use mini gnocchi)

Do you own an instant pot?  If so what do you like about it?  Any favorite recipes or tips?
I have one, but feel like I'm not using it to its full advantage.  I like this recipe the best so far.  And I need somebody to help me with hard boiled eggs in this thing.  The first time I made them they were perfect and easy to peel.  The second time, they weren't even close to being done.  I've tried a couple more times with mixed results and I sweat my seal is on correctly.

    On the menu this week-

Monday- out to eat with the family
Tuesday- left over kahlua pig stir fry with broccoli slaw (bagged) and white rice
    Wednesday- instant pot chicken curry
Thursday- instant pot weeknight  chicken and rice burrito bowls
    https://pin.it/DGzM-Jj
Friday- Mac and cheese (box) with hot dogs and frozen veggies for the kids - special treat dinner for them! While I go to dinner with the hubby

I ditched my crock pot once I got my instant pot. I use the instant pot WAY more (as you see above- 2 meals in it this week and the left over kahlua pig was from an instant pot recipe too). I liked to do bone broth in the crock pot. Until I got an instant pot.

My favorite soup to buy is TJ’s creamy tomato soup. Favorite soup to make is butternut squash soup.

I have an instant pot and I absolutely love it. I use it mostly for big pieces of meat to make things like pulled pork, shredded chicken and beef stew. It isn’t “instant” most things still take about an hour, but that is way less than conventional cooking and also it is set it and forget it- so I can put everything in, let it do it’s magic, do other chores around the house and then dinner is ready. Hard boiled eggs also come out perfect and easy to peel.
nom nom paleo has a lot of great instant pot recipes on her website- my family loves the carnitas recipe on her site. I also made a really yummy stew out of her latest cookbook last week and that was a big hit as well.

What's on the menu this week?
I don't know yet and honestly this question gives me anxiety.

What is your favorite meal that is quick/easy to prep?
Not so much quick? But chili! Just throw it all in a pot and you're done! I added too much garlic salt last time and since then I've had an aversion to garlic salt and chili  :(

What is your favorite crockpot meal?
I have a crockpot and use it often, but honestly not a huge fan of the food that typically comes from it. Everything just tastes the same and it's not great. I guess I do like to make potato and veggie chowders in my crockpot, but I don't do it often because there's only two of us and that's a lot for two people.

    What is your favorite soup?
    French onion!

What's on the menu this week?
I bought spinach, 2 rotisserie chickens, and a bunch of salad toppings for the beginning of the week since it's been in the 90's and haven't felt like cooking.

What is your favorite meal that is quick/easy to prep?
Homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese

What is your favorite crockpot meal?
    Korean beef short ribs

    What is your favorite soup?
    tomato

Do you own an instant pot?  If so what do you like about it?  Any favorite recipes or tips?
yes! We eat a lot of yogurt so I make that once a week. I like that I can cook chicken from frozen in 20 minutes. It doesn't always necessarily take less time but I can go do other things while it cooks and  not have to stir and babysit things like on the stove top.

I got one for Christmas last year and still haven't used it! I don't know how and it's a bit daunting! I love my crockpot though.

@sarahhedger7 try it, you'll love it. There is a bit of a learning curve but it makes life easier. Do a boil test then try boiled eggs.

@megpeg Teach me your instant pot hard boiled egg ways.  I've tried like 3 different ways online, sometimes it works and other times my eggs are barely cooked.

@ShawnnaO Totally get not being into the crockpot - I think that is why I like it best for soup - everything ends up tasting the same anyways.

@sarahhedger7 I think I'll have to try that white chili recipe, DH isn't into "red" chili as much as I am.  :|

@becausescience I usually do 6 minutes on high manual. Then let natural release for 6. Then quick release the rest of the way and then pull the inner pot out and run them under cold water until the water feels cold.

@becausescience Oh, you definitely should! I usually add a can of drained black beans and substitute the whole tomato for a can of diced tomatoes with jalapeños. It turns out more like a thick soup but it's delicious and actually pretty healthy. Makes great leftovers for lunch too!
