Good morning!

This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."

Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.

Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update our list!

  • Good morning ladies. I'm 18w3d today my updated EDD is 2/17. My next apt is on Oct 2nd. I'm just trucking along hanging in there getting bigger lol. I should have a package in the mail tomorrow with some maternity pants hopefully they fit.
Is anyone planning a gender reveal party kind of thing? We are having a little get together on the 30th with immediate family and I feel like I'm stressing about it a lot more than I should be.
I'm obsessed with fall. I was born in AZ and had no seasons all my family is here in IL when I was younger I always came here for October it's my favorite season and now that I live her it's amazing. All of the festivals the color changing in the trees and of course pumpkin everything. We have a lot of birthdays in Oct including mine so Halloween is a big celebration for all of us just to dress up and have fun.

  • @thucks i'm so sad I loaned out some of my maternity cloths and of course my 2 favorite pairs of pants never came back... I'm trying to make it through on what I have but I may have to augment the collection. We are not having a gender reveal party (team green), I guess my advice would be to just have fun and celebrate your little one, everyone will have a good time just visiting. I'm also an october birthday, we have so much in common!
@momma6angels11 fx you get to see the twins again this week. I love pumpkin roll! (now I might have to make one)

AFM 26+1 just chugging along. I have to go out of town for a week for a conference and I'm looking forward to it but also sad because it will be the longest I've ever been away from the twins. DH is going to need a major treat for wrangling them on his own for a week.
as for my favorite part of fall, I love the changing colors, I love those cool but sunnny days where you layer up and go for a walk with the leaves crunching under your feet. I also love pumpkin... mmm pie, pancakes... spice lattes...

  • @wabash15 I got rid of everything except maybe like 2 shirts that I still wear. We said we were never doing this again after having the twins and literally got rid of everything except a crib. So I'm starting fresh. I stretched out my cloths so much last time since I was so big anyway I don't think I could still fit half my stuff anyway. I think I'd be team green to if I had b/g twins. But DH is a big planner he must know ASAP what this baby is lol.
We are doing confetti cannons and my twins are going to shoot them. Right now they are split one wants a brother one wants a sister so I have a feeling someones going to be very upset.
@momma6angels11 I'm sure they will let you take a peek at the twins this week. They better

  • @wabash15 thanks! So do i!!..
@thucks i hope so! Noone knew yet about me being pregnant so first we shared the news of pregnancy with everyone and then we  did a reveal with a decorated box and balloons!! We only used one box and put pink for baby b in the bottom and put a divider board over it then the blue for baby a on top. No one knew it was twins until the pink came flying out! We actually were going to use footballs filled with color but couldn't find them fast enough.
  • @momma6angels11 That's pretty kewl that you waited to reveal that it was twins until the gender reveal. When we had our twins everyone knew what was going on and when so we didn't do a reveal or anything kewl. We did a big announcement during the twins birthday party to surprise everyone that we were pregnant and now want to do the gender reveal. If it was twins again we would have waited to hold that info until the gender reveal too.

  • @thucks I'm with you I outgrew almost all of my maternity cloths... I think at the end I had 1 pair of pants and 2 shirts that would still fit. The other day apparently DS told daycare I was having a boy... so they all congratulated me... My response was "well glad he knows since I don't!"

  • I'm 27 + 2 with the twins. Feeling bigger and bigger and more unwieldy all the time. I'm having issues driving my standard to and from work, can't reach the clutch without seriously pressing on the tummy at this point, I'm afraid that will be the next independent thing I'll be giving up till healed up. ;) This will be my last week in 2nd tri. :o:o

I'm like a furnace right now. I can't even take a warm shower without overheating myself. Folding and hanging up clean laundry in my bedroom overheated me. At night I take a cool washcloth to myself before bedtime to get me to a good sleeping temp. DH husband is already prepping to keep me cool during labor, he's gone online to buy the neckwraps with the cooling gel in them.

I love fall. I loved it more when I lived places with more than two seasons. It's my favorite season. The bugs are all dead after that first freeze. I can enjoy a cup of coffee (decaf) on the porch in the mornings with the crispness still in the air. We had a bit of a break from the typical heat in August only to have it linger through September here in Texas.

@wabash15 Your little boy, that is so stinking cute.

I couldn't keep it in with the twins. No way. Now ours were from our first IVF cycle and most of the immediate family knew what was going on with us. I was pretty open over all.

  • @stella_700 I think one of the hardest things with pregnancy and the twin belly was how big it got and how much more room I needed. I actually burned my stomach on a pan cooking when I reached for something over the stove and did not take into account that I was much bigger than I used to be. I was also a furnace. I was pregnant in the middle of winter in the upper mid west and had to sleep with the window open and no covers. DH who is usually a heater and keeps me warm was piled with all the blankets and freezing.

  • @stella_700 I was the same exact way when I was prego with the twins. Hot as crap. They were born in July and when it started getting warm I rarely went outside. I remember being about 27 weeks or so and some one said it would be a great idea for me to measure my tummy and write it down something interesting to keep track of. DON'T DO IT lol I was over 5 feet around. I bought died looking at the measuring tape.

  • @thucks Nope not measuring I know that number is scary already. I am plus sized but at the point where the belly now far sticks out past the girls (40G) I just don't even want to know. Being only 5'2" isn't helping as things have nowhere to go but out at this point. My husband loves it though. He giggles at my belly and pats it and talks sweet to the twins. I had no idea that it would tickle him so.

I love the foods of fall.  I'm ready to be able to make soups and stews, and lots of stuff in the crockpot and, baked dishes. I love fall food. I already broke down and made the zuppa toscana soup from olive garden. I dream of clam chowder and homemade cabbage rolls and pot roast. Pumpkin roll sounds amazing to me today.
  • @STELLA_700 you have made me so hungry!

  • Hi all and happy almost fall :) I'm 17 weeks with baby boy this week and am also just chugging along. I am finally starting to show (to people besides my husband and myself) and have that stretching skin feeling going on in my stomach (and boobs!I finally had to get a bigger bra bc they got so much bigger :o )
@thucks we found out the gender early and did a small get together with just immediate family. We had cake pops and everyone bit into them at the same time for dessert. It was a lot of fun. I think the confetti cannons sound so cute, too! What a fun way to involve your twins to share the news. I hope no one is too upset.
@momma6angels11 what a fun way to reveal your twins!
@stella_700 that's so sweet that your husband is so tickled with your belly, I'm always touched when my hubs comes up and gives it a rub, but not that often yet since my bump is still small. Good luck in the third tri! Always an exciting milestone.

I also loooove fall. In addition to all the yummy foods and the occasional pumpkin spiced drink I love wearing jeans with cozy sweaters and cute boots without it being too freezing yet. I always go apple and pumpkin picking with my nieces and nephew, which I'm looking forward to. Also looking forward to then making pumpkin seeds and apple everything  :#

  • Hey y'all!

I haven't kept up well with checking in here, but I haven't kept up with much-- it's a struggle just to get to work. In October, I'm going to a part time schedule, with leave starting in Nov, and it should get easier.

I'm 25 weeks, 5 days with mo/di tin girls. I hopefully have at least another two months, but someone in my Facebook group, who's a few days behind me, just had her babies (they have a chance at survival, but it's scary). I still have a lot of anxiety about things going okay for us, but I'm trying to stay in the moment. My girls are growing well.

(I think the infertility experience has got to be amping up the anxiety, to be honest. When you get used to disappointment, it's hard to trust the joy. But feeling them kick, now, really helps a lot!)

I love fall-- my favorite holiday is Halloween! I'm a little bummed about missing the haunted houses this year (doesn't seem safe to go bumping around in dark spaces with my adrenaline flowing). But we're about to decorate our house. Since we do big Halloween decorations, we get a LOT of trick-or-treaters every year, and I LOVE the parade of cute kids in costumes. I can't wait.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • Oh, and our reveals have all been on social media. We posted a positive pee stick (sitting on top of the sharps container) to come out about being pregnant.

Then we did the cutest video to announce twins-- focus on her hiking boots walking onto the screen, then mine. Drop the backpack. Set down one pair of baby hiking boots.  Then... pick them up, move them over, to set down a second pair. Pan up, where I'm studying a trail map and she looks a little freaked, and I said "we're gonna need a bigger tent." Then I flipped up the edge of the map with a "coming soon-- this winter!" sign on it.

For gender reveal, we didn't do a party. It was just a giant card, and we posted a video opening it.  I'll try to post a couple photos from it. If these turn out to be huge, I'm sorry!

  • @klake42 I'm so glad you were able to check in, I've been wondering how you have been doing. I'm glad the girls are growing well. Just because someone else went into labor super early does not mean you will. Fx those girls stay put and grow, grow, grow. I like you reveal.
