Tips on post C-Section

So I found out the other day that my LO is very breeched and for her to move into the correct position she would have to move around the placenta, given I'm 37w2d, my doctor doesn't think it will happen so we scheduled a c-section. I'm totally fine with it because it will get her into the world healthy. But I'm nervous about the post surgery part. Anyone have any tips and tricks on dealing with post c-section healing at home with a newborn? About how long did it take before you were back to yourself?

  • Commenting on this thread so I can get some tips. Having an emergency cesarean today in 3 hours at only 35.5 so I'd love some tips too

  • @joannabananajay oh dear, praying for you and little one! I've been told by a few people around here to buy a wedge pillow to sleep with, that way your body is at an incline instead of completely flat. I've also been told to get a certain kind of girdle (I'm asking my doctor about this before I do). On the breech baby & c-section thread @BigBadWolf12  from S'17 gave me some advice as well!
  • I have a giant body pillow at home so I might have that brought over after I have her. For now just bought some cheap pillows to sleep with here and I have the boppy!
  • Hey ladies just from my experience with a previous section I'd say. Definitely hold a pillow over you stomach while sitting up. Get your partner to bring the baby to you as much as you can. I never took the help but I really wished now I did. Stay active!! Don't lay in bed make sure to make and get a little exercise although your limited to what you can do!! One more thing!! Don't sneeze!! It seriously is the worst thing ever!! Good luck
  • Ask for help whenever necessary! Take it easy!! Take pain relief on time and ask for alternatives if too much painful! This is actually me telling myself too since I am having a Csec tmr!
  • Good Luck everyone :)
