This is my 1st baby last one i miscarried last year baby is doing great my levels are high not low and baby is in my uterus I'm 5 weeks and 5 days tommrow and I am super excited! Anyone know what food i should eat?
Welcome, @mrs_duplechin2017! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Yay for great numbers!
I highly recommend reading the sticky posts at the top. There is one about how the board works and then one for introductions. Be sure to post your information there.
As for what to eat, my diet is staying the same as pregnancy for now. I switched to a low carb/high protein "diet" and then got my BFP after months of trying. I eat a lot of veggies (spinach, broccoli, carrots, etc) because not only are they healthy, they have folate naturally in them. I also eat a variety of meats (salmon once a week, turkey burgers, and chicken). That's my plan for this pregnancy.
When I was pregnant with DS, I gained 50 pounds and I'm wanting to avoid that this time. I basically started eating everything because "hey, I'm eating for 2!" I'm not going down that hole this time!
You should receive a plethora of information from your OB at your initial appointment. It will include lists of foods to avoid, medicine that is safe, and more.
Definitely take some time to read the pinned posts as well as the pages of threads already posted which include pregnant after loss and many food threads.
Congrats!! There are tons of books out there with recipes too! My go to is lots of proteins, calcium rich foods (dark green veggies, and ice cream is a great and fun source) also salmon (If you like it). The fatty acids are VERY good for baby's brain development. My OB said not to worry about limiting eggs (because of cholesterol) during pregnancy. So, I always have hard boiled eggs in the fridge and will eat one with a piece of cheese or fruit for an energy boost or snack.
Some power foods are: avacados, nuts, cheese, sweet potatoes, salmon, banannas, and whole grains (oatmeal and cereal).
Watch out for broccoli and beans as they can cause extra gas on top of those common discomforts.
Also if you use salt in your food make sure it iodozed. That is also an essential nutrient for baby
