Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

ERA To Help With Multiple Early Losses?

I'm currently experiencing my 5th consecutive miscarriage and my RE is suggesting we try an ERA (uterine lining scratch) to make sure we are doing our FET on the most optimum day.  I am hesitant because everything I have read has said it's more for people with implantation issues vs. multiple losses.  The test would be completely out of pocket ($1,000), is quite painful, and would set us back timing wise even further.  Getting pregnant from my FET isn't my problem it's the staying pregnant, that is the issue.  Has anyone else had an ERA done for multiple losses?  Any input would be appreciated.

Re: ERA To Help With Multiple Early Losses?

  • Because you mentioned FET, I'm assuming you're doing IVF? Have all losses been through IVF, or did you start IVF after some of the losses?
  • All my losses have been from IVF, I unfortunately can't conceive on my own.

  • I may be biased because of the number of losses I've had, but if I were offered a test that might tell me what's wrong and I could afford it, even uncomfortably, I'd jump at the opportunity.

Do they have you on a steroid like prednisone as well?
  • They have before but it didn't make a difference unfortunately.

  • Do you have any additional identified medical conditions that don't seem related to infertility?
  • Nothing that I can think of
