1. How many weeks are you? How big is baby?
Baby BOY is 16 weeks +1 day today. He's an avocado according to TB.
2. How are you feeling? Tired and hungry but nothing I can't handle.
3. Any appointments next week? We've got a full week this week. Cervical length check tomorrow and OB appointment Friday.
4. Rants, raves, questions? Did anyone else have a gender reveal? I had a full on breakdown at mine. I was CONVINCED this was a girl. It was the shock of my life seeing the color blue!
5. GTKY - What is the one thing you have to have with you at all times and why? Lotion. Your girl can't be out here ashy. It just isn't right.

Still exhausted. And now Ragweed is taking over here so our allergies are out of control. Ugh.

Seriously, college football is NOT good for my blood pressure. I'm a University of Texas fan and their double OT loss to #4 USC last night was a legit roller coaster of emotions. I thought about checking my BP during the game, but decided against it!!

5. GTKY - What is the one thing you have to have with you at all times and why?
I hate to say this but my phone. Even if it's just to keep DD occupied and quiet for a bit, Momma's gotta be connected.

@cford08 I didn't have a gender reveal and I've never been to one either. Congrats on having a boy!! I hope you have recovered from your meltdown and are looking forward to your sweet baby boy's arrival!! ❤❤

@cford08 We are going to have a gender reveal when we find out - but it's probably a while away. I was originally thinking girl, but now I'm going back and forth between girl and boy. Everyone is swearing to me that it's a girl. Funnily enough my four-year-old nephews say they want it to be a girl too. It's too cute when they talk about it.

14 weeks and baby is a peach

2. How are you feeling? I actually feel pretty good. No nausea for awhile, but serious indigestion at times

3. Any appointments next week? Tuesday we have an appointment for an early sex determination. Let the fight with dh over names begin

4. Rants, raves, questions? did any STM's have a diaper party/baby shower of some sort the second time around? My friend if very insistent on throwing me some sort of party. I don't need anything really and ended up with a ton of things I never used with my first. I don't want to deal with weeding out baby junk and a million outfits. Is there a way to politely ask guests not to bring a gift? I don't mind a gathering if we won't end up with a lot of things we have no space for. I know this sounds ungrateful, I really don't mean to. But I'm definitely a minimalist when it comes to baby things and our house is tiny.

5. GTKY - What is the one thing you have to have with you at all times and why? ugh I don't even carry a purse anymore. Haven't since ds was born 2 years ago. I always have my phone and usually don't forget my wallet

16 weeks, baby is the size of an avocado or an action figure.

2. How are you feeling?
Okay. Still tired. The morning sickness is gone but I still feel nauseous if I don't eat often enough.

3. Any appointments next week?
Nope, not until next Monday. Somehow I got off when they scheduled my appointments so my 16 week appt isn't until I'm 17 weeks.

4. Rants, raves, questions?
So, I've been battling a runny nose, post nasal drip (so gross) and sinus headaches for over a month and I just blamed it on being pregnant - when pg with DS I constantly had a runny nose. Wednesday I felt like crap and discovered the lymph nodes in my neck and armpit were visibly swollen.

Went to the doctor and surprise, I have a bad ear infection and a sinus infection. I'm so pissed I put it off for long and could have had it taken care of already.

5. GTKY - What is the one thing you have to have with you at all times and why?

@Gingermom15, I think I'm planning on having a bbq or get together after babe is born and putting "no gifts" on the invite. That way everyone can meet the little one and if anyone asks about a shower anytime soon, I can get out of it by saying I have something planned for later. I'm sure my coworkers won't accept that however, lol, so I'm making a small registry with a few things I know I'll need like nursing items or stuff to replace things I didn't like with DS. Like my swing was junk, so I'll put a different one on the registry.

@ashleyf911 Sorry to hear about your ear/sinus infection. I just got over the same thing - it wasn't fun. I hope you feel better!

@Gingermom15 Not a stm, but perhaps you could just ask for something you know you will need? In example throw a diaper party, and register for all sorts of diapers?

@SoraLk That is a good idea, but mine and DH's families tend to go so overboard. My first baby shower turned into an 8 hour long BBQ/pot luck event

it might be worth a try. If not, maybe I can just return most things and get diapers instead.

@Gingermom15 I second @SoraLk but be as firm as possible. Like on an invite just say "mom prefers no gifts, but loves X brand diapers" ?

@HappyMonkey817 I don't know how you manage. Just reading what's going on with you made my head hurt. I hope you get some relief, and FAST.

A lot more like myself. Like a flip switched when the second trimester started.

When are you ladies letting your employers know you're pregnant?

Water - if I don't have it with me I immediately become thirsty and it's like I haven't had any water ever before

I told mine as soon as I found out. They were the second to know next to DH, I work with a lot of chemo, radiation and various other patients and hospital policy, to cover their butts and protect baby, doesn't allow pregnant women in those rooms. Make sure you are aware of your policies and procedures, what to expect from maternity leave and have a thorough understanding of your benefits before you tell your employer.

@Gingermom15 thank you! I think it will be okay, I am just nervous. They have a wonderful maternity leave policy, I've been there for several years through mat leave when my son was born.

@SoFlaMommie1128 I told my manager almost right away because I had so many doctor appointments to make sure everything was okay. He asked me to let my department know once viability was determined, and then today I plan on announcing to the office with some donuts. I think it really depends on office culture and what sort of job you have.

@cford08 we had a gender reveal for our son, but my husband and I found out before the actual party during the anatomy scan. We were excited to surprise our family (but wanted to get the news for ourselves in private.) I think this time around we will keep it much more low key, just invite our immediate family members for dinner and do the reveal then. But I haven't fully thought this through. We should find out sometime in mid-Oct.

@Gingermom15 maybe have a sip and see after baby is born? It's usually a gathering for everyone to meet the baby and have a drink/light bite at your house (or a family member's house.) I'd schedule this for about 2 months after baby is born, so LO's immune system is more developed by then.

@SoFlaMommie1128 Ditto with what @Gingermom15 said. I work with chemo patients and they needed to know that I would be limited in my actions with certain regimens.
