    Cycle/Month? 1/1

    WTO/TWW?  TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2 years & 10 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I think we did ok with timing. I hope we did.

    Any questions? Nope

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?  It was Science. Definitely a mix of topic and teacher. I found it mesmerizing to learn about how and why our world is the way it is, and Mr. Rawlins made science exciting with the real life examples and experiences he gave us.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  I go to the doctor next week, hoping to get unbenched and told when/how to restart clomid.

    Any questions? None

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?

Latin.  It was probably a combination of both.  I loved the history we learned and the teacher was hysterical.

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 7 and 16 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not yet!

Any questions? Do any of you remember a sleep regression around 18 months? We're having some sleep issues that I thought was just due to teething as she had all four canines coming in at the same time, but now I'm not so sure. (Only two left to break through now). We're also trying to go from two naps to one but I can't get her to make it past 10 am without going bsc on me...So now we're back to two naps. Poor kiddo...She just needs sleep.

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?

Physics probably...I love the subject. I love that there's really no grey area, and the answers are always so black and white. I love the predictions of knowing what's going to happen. I made radiology my career so I'm not really shocked this was my favourite class.

    Cycle/Month? 9 total, TW- 1 post MC

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 18 months this week!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Actually excited for this cycle to start, because it's my first AF after my loss! I'm officially off the bench, and can't wait to get back at it!

Any questions? Not TTC-related, but how old were your LOs when you first left them overnight? I'll be going away for 2 days next month to a conference, and DS will be staying home with my husband. I know he'll be fine with DH, but I'll be sad to not see him for a couple of days.

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?  Probably science if I had to say. I enjoyed physics the most, but I really enjoyed all my science classes because I love figuring out how things work. My physics teacher was also really awesome, which made the class that much better.

@holly321 hopefully you will be unbenched soon!

@josie12367 can't help you on the sleep regression question since DS is only just 18 months, but we're also in between two naps and one nap a day, and I'm just ready for him to transition down to one fully. He resists some days, but if he doesn't get that second nap, he's just grumpy and fussy, so not sure what to do.

Cycle/Month? 2/2 (11 total, MC in mar and benched mar-jul)

WTO/TWW? TWW - I think AF will be here I. The next 24 hrs

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? I ended up with a cyst on my ovary, so I think that threw me off when trying not to SS. It took 4 cycles to get PG with DS and our MC, so I try to tell myself it'll probably take 4 months this time around too, but it's still hard seeing BFN and getting AF.

    Any questions? Nope

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? I loved history, genetics, and stats. Well actually, I liked most classes, and got along with most teachers because my mom was a teacher so I saw everyone outside of school. I could also get away with a lot because of it. I had one teacher who didn't like my mom so he was kind of a dick to me, so that sucked.

@josie12367 there is an 18 month sleep regression, my sister is going through it with her 19 month old right now (fun fact: my sister's name is also Josie). DS had his right after MH deployed...it was so great...not. I don't remember doing anything special, other than being patient (and crying into a glass of wine after he was finally asleep), but he went back to sleeping fine within 2 months, I believe.

  • @pumpkinpancake Yes! My DD can't make up get mind! She'll cry through the first one, and then is barely functional so she has to go down again within the hour...and then needs another that afternoon because she's worn out from all the crying...Lol. She's never been a good sleeper though so I'm used to it. I'm sure it's just a phase. I think my first trip away from DD1 was when she was three. DD2 I still haven't been away from overnight.

@mrsbunz I haven't been doing anything special either, but I didn't want not not do something if needed...Lol...If that makes any sense! I hate hearing her cry. Makes me feel so helpless. So sorry you're having a rough go of things. BFN are never fun. Are you feeling better cyst wise?

  • @josie12367 Why in the world are you trying to cut out the 2nd nap? I would love to go back to those days! ;) I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure DD had a sleep regression around 18 months. I read something during those days about sleep regressions...it said to think of them as sleep "progressions" instead and I found that really helpful. It helped me just kind of accept it and know that it would eventually pass. I could always tell during those times that DD's brain was growing and she was learning so much. She just wanted to practice her new knowledge! Good luck and I hope it passes quickly. That's neat that you do radiology! I considered doing that after getting out of the AF when I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. :)
@pumpkinpancake We left DD overnight for the first time when she was maybe 7 months old? It was only for one night and honestly I didn't miss her too much. ;) I left her with DH a few months ago for 2 nights when I went on a trip for work. He sent me tons of pictures and let me "talk" to her on the phone. (I say "talk" because she's terrified of talking on the phone!) Hopefully your trip goes well and you don't miss your family too terribly.
@holly321 GL at the doctor next week. Hope you can get off the bench!
@MrsBunz So so sorry about your cyst and the pain you're going through. I'm glad the pain is not too unbearable.

Any thoughts about this cycle? We had really great timing this month, so if I don't get KU it's not for lack of trying! That makes me feel good about it; at least we did everything we could! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but that's easier said than done. TBH though, I might not be super sad if it doesn't work out this month because I'm really enjoying getting to know everyone on TTGP.

Any questions? Does anyone else get super scared at the idea of having another kid? I'm really excited for DD to have a sibling and to have another baby, but sometimes the idea of having a second kid running around scares me to death.

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? English class! I've always loved reading and writing, so it was for sure my favorite. It wasn't really the teacher that made it fun for me, but the topic. I wish I had studied science like a lot of you guys! I've started to read more about science the past year or two (vaccines and other such health topics) and wish I understood it better!

  • On mobile so tagging just ain't happening. Sleep regression: L had it, and he still wakes up 1 time each night looking for a big drink. At 2 we are still at 2 naps a day, with the morning being ~45 min and the afternoon one being 2+ hours.

overnights: i left L overnight during His 4th month. He was with my parents, and I was just a house over. They did fine, once he forgot to miss us. Now he begs to stay anytime we go to the Gparent's. E could care less who she is with, just as long as she has someone to talk to and her bottles when she wants them.

    Any questions?

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? History.... I loved all my teachers but I'm very science and math brained and history is speaking my language. It doesn't change and isn't open to interpretation so it's just route memory. And my teachers were hilarious seeing my world civ teacher dancing on his desk to War by Edwin Starr made my life.

TW Iwas also in world civ when another history teacher came in screaming that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. We turned on the TV in time to watch the second plane end TW

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?
Human Sexuality. It looked into sexuality as biology of male/female, reproduction, a social concept (gender, gender roles), sex as seen societally, kinks, etc. I loved the topic and the teacher was great! I took several of her courses and she was good.
  • @mrsbunz Glad your pain is manageable!

@offtoneverland I don't really want the second nap to go, but she's having a hard time trying to get two naps in due to our schedule. So before this rough patch her first nap was always the longest. Usually from 8:30-10:30am. Then she would get cranky around around noon. Goes down from 12:30-2 pm. But lately she's been all over the place nap wise. She would just cry, and not take her morning nap at all, then finally go down around 11am, up by 1pm, and then there wasn't enough time for a second nap, so the rest of the evening was miserable. I've been compensating and putting her down for the night around 6pm so that's helping.

I actually thought she was just transitioning herself, but today she's on her old normal nap schedule, so I guess we'll see. Typically I just watch for sleepy signs and let her tell me what she needs...obviously, still two naps!

And yes, having a third terrifies me. I was fine with the second because of the large age gap between the two, but the thought of two toddlers?! Yikes! I think it's completely normal though to be scared. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself!

  • @josie12367 I am going through the exact same thing with DS lately. Some days he takes two naps like normal, and other days he fight the first one so hard he doesn't take it until two late and it throws off everything. So what I try to do is if he doesn't take his nap before 10, I hold him off until after lunch. The early bedtime is sometimes a thing for us, too. You've essentially described my life for the past two months. I hope it's over soon, but at the same time, I will miss the two naps.

    Cycle/Month? 0/1

    WTO/TWW? Probably WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 16 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? So I've been absent lately. TTC without a cycle is such a mindfuck. I feel like everyone just looks at me and thinks "Why don't you just night wean" or "If you want to have a baby, wean. If not, just be patient." It all sounds so simple, but it's really not. Night weaning will result in less sleep before it could (potentially) mean more, and I'm already tired all the time. I know BFing and TTC may be mutually exclusive for me, but I don't want them to be.

I try to just focus on work and DS and not obsess about TTC, which is why I haven't been on as much, but
it still creeps in to my subconscious. I keep having dreams about getting a BFP and it seems so real.

It would make more sense to be NTNP (because with the minimal amount of sex we're having, that's basically all we are doing) but my mind won't let me. I tend to be an "all or nothing" type person, so this is throwing me for a loop.

TLDR: I have no chill, someone send pills.

    Any questions? Nah

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator?

Definitely history, and definitely the topic, but I've had many great teachers as well.

Any questions? Anyone else find it ridiculously difficult to be here? When trying for my first, I was on here all the time and now I can check in like once a week. Granted, my previous job was more laid back. But damn!

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? I've always loved History and English. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. My dad, brothers and I nerd out over history stuff together.
  • @josie12367 There is definitely an 18 month sleep regression.  I think this is when separation anxiety also kicks in.

@pumpkinpancake I think I left my son for the first time when he was around 15 months for one overnight (to celebrate my H's birthday).  My first thought after checking into a hotel was one is DS doing?!

@offtoneverland absolutely terrified of another kid.  The newborn stage was really f'ing hard for me.  DS and I struggled with BFing and DS struggled with sleep.  I can't imagine going through that again.

    Cycle/Month? 2/2

    WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 2 in 12 days

Any thoughts about this cycle? So I'm not temping, so I realize I have to take all the apps with a grain of salt with respect to my predicted FW.  But, each of them agreed and so did my CP (day 13-15).  My CM dried up on day 16, and then on day 17-18, I had gobs of EWCM but a low CP.  Then yesterday (CD20), more EWCM.  We did great if my highly fertile days were days 10-15, but terrible if it was on day 17-18. My cycle is normally 26-28 days, so the EWCM on day 20 was weird. So I have no idea what to think.

Any questions?  Can EWCM occur after O?

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? US History. I loved my history teacher and loved the class.
  • @offtoneverland I didn't think going from 1 to 2 was that bad, but If we get KU before November we will have 3u3 for at least a month, and that keeps me up at nights. I know the spacing I want - if it works out according to plan (ahahahahahahahahahahaha, plans) but something about the label 3u3 just terrifies me.
Also, I'm just plain scared to have another baby. Both L&E have been wonderful. Like hands down the best kids I have been around ever, and the possibility that this next one won't be anything like them and will seem horrible and I'll struggle to bond/love a baby who isn't as well behaved.

  • @offtoneverland It's recently hit me how hard it might be with 2 tiny ones. But I kind of felt the same way about DS, so... I've committed myself to never knowing what I'm doing from here on with 1, I might as well go all in with 2. DS isn't dead yet, and seems to like me, so I haven't failed!   :D

@lalala2004 That sounds really difficult. I'm sorry. I kind of think you are being patient because you haven't night weaned... Now you just have to work on being content with the choice, much easier said than done. Can you work your brain to ntnp?

And yes... I was on constantly with DS. Multiple times a day. I'm trying hard for at least once a day... But not successful so far.
  • @Mylitta it's not that I don't want to nightwean, it's just that I'm putting it off because I think it's going to suck :# . I'm trying to psych myself up to do it.

@mrstmoose I feel you. I can either keep up with social media or get work done either at my job or around the house. Can't seem to do both! Right now I'm trying to focus on the latter. Well, obviously not this second, but I'm hitting the dishes as soon as I finish eating these carrots....

  • @lalala2004 FWIW, with DS, before I had decided to start weaning him, I had been waking to feed him during the night and was afraid to change it up and risk him sleeping less. Starting to wean him actually made a huge difference, and he started sleeping through the full night after that. Obviously, every kid is different so take my experience with a grain of salt, but what I'm saying is don't be afraid to go for it. I made the choice to wean because I wanted to TFAS, and I knew my body wasn't going to get back to having a cycle while i was BF'ing. It's a hard choice to make, but some people just need to stop altogether to ovulate again.
  • @lalala2004 Are you interested in nigh weaning? or switching from nursing at night to your LO using a sippy or cup?

I did try a few months ago, and the method seemed to be working, but it meant little sleep for me and I got mastitis, so I gave up. Now that I'm back to work (teacher) I'm anxious about trying again because I need sleep to function at work. So at this point I need a long weekend or break when we aren't going out of town. I think it's mostly the fear of the unknown and not knowing how we'll work out our schedules and all that. Plus, there's hardly enough time in the day for one kid! At first, I really only wanted to have one kid, but I'm really close to my sister and definitely want DD to have a sibling.

@lalala2004 Nice to see you back here! So sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. It sounds crazy stressful trying to TTC before your cycle has returned. I really hope that you can find the time to night wean whenever you're ready to take that step. FWIW I think it's awesome that you've continued to BF this long! I wish I would have been able to go longer than 1 year with DD, but I hated BFing and could never figure it out, so I exclusively pumped, hence me not wanting to do it a second longer than 1 year. Haha!
Also, I totally understand what you mean about your mind not letting you NTNP. I see people who are NTNP and envy them for their self control! I know that I'd never be able to do it because I'm such a planner and there's no way I'd be able to ignore CM and all that.
@Saratiff Definitely know the feeling...last cycle I was so convinced that I was KU, but that was definitely not the case. So disappointing! FX for you!!!
@Mylitta I cracked up at "DS isn't dead yet and seems to like me." Haha. I have to remind myself of that all the time. It's so easy for me to get into the cycle of feeling guilty for every little thing, but DD is healthy, growing, and loved, and that's all that matters.
@princesslockness There's definitely a huge stigma with the phrase 3u3! There's pros and cons to having kids close together or spacing them out, and it's so hard to know which is the right thing to do! It's awesome that your kids are/will be (if things go according to plan) so close in age. If I get KU sometime soon-ish, DD will be around 4 when the new kid comes along, and I'm afraid it's too big of an age gap. I'm sure it'll be just fine though!

  • @offtoneverland Hey, 4 years means only 1 car seat & 1 booster, not having to figure out sharing of sippies/pacies/ who wears what size diapers, the older can do more than just try to help, older child will remember LO2 being a infant and you can compare/remember/tell stories about LO1 . . . That really sounds super nice when I think about it.

  • Mine are six years apart, and they are super close. They adore each other and my older one loves to play with my toddler. They even bathe together because they love playing with each other so much. My older one is also such a great helper at times. I didn't think I would like the age gap, and was super nervous about it while pregnant with dd2, but honestly the age gap ended up being no big deal.

  • @offtoneverland I am 3rd of 4 girls, my older sisters are 4.5 and 4 years older than me (#2 is adopted) and my younger sister is 19 months younger. Growing up, I was just as close to my oldest sister as my younger one, and now, as adults, I'm closest to the older one. MH is 2nd of 4 boys, there is almost exactly 2 year gap between the 3 older boys (23 months and 25 months). The youngest was born when MH was 8.5 (his brothers were 10.5 and 6.5), and though MH has a different relationship with his youngest brother (by virtue of always being in a different place in life than him), he is just as close to him as the older 2.

  • What number are you trying for? 2
    Cycle/Month? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 16 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Really eager to go the OBGN next week to have my Mirena taken out. I know i'm not totally out this month, but I don't have high hopes

    Any questions? Not really

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? In PT school I really loved our medically complex semester (cardiopulmonary etc) although, that's not a population I work with. I also really loved our anatomy lab there was just something so cool about seeing everything that we read about in our books in person and really gave me a better understanding of how the muscles worked and why certain injuries happened.

@josie12367 I don't know about a sleep regression because we aren't there yet, but I feel you on the transitioning to one nap. We still try 2 naps a day because DD is a monster when she's tired, but she usually sleeps 3 hours in the morning and then plays in her crib for an hour in the afternoon and is suuuper cranky until I finally give in and put her to bed at 6:15. I just wish she would sleep both those times because she's so much happier.
@pumpkinpancake we left DD for 1 night when she was 14 months. We went to a wedding and I didn't miss her as much as I thought I would (but I did cry anytime my husband mentioned that trip until the day we left her). Since then, she's done one 2 night stretch at my Dad's when I was in orientation for work because it involved 2 early mornings in a row for DH and I, so was just easier for everyone.
  • @josie12367, that is awesome.  We have been a little concerned about our age gap, but glad to see it is going well for your family.

@offtoneverland, I am terrified of having another child.  DS makes it very clear he doesn't want us to have another child.

  • @josie12367 @MrsBunz Thanks for that info! DH and his brother are 5 years apart and are not very close at all. It worried me a bit, but I'm starting to learn that it's just from their weird family dynamics and not from the age gap.
@lalala2004 Thank you! It was not fun, but it became my way of life so I got used to it. Thankfully DH and work were really supportive of it, so I could take breaks to pump when I needed to. I worry about what I'll do with the next kid...might not want to EP with a toddler running around. I'm hoping I can finally figure out BFing with the next one.
@holly321 So funny that your DS doesn't want you to have another baby! I'm sure he'll enjoy it in the end. :) DD loves baby dolls so I think she'll be really excited (hopefully)!

Any thoughts about this cycle? First cycle TTC. Stressful busy time at work right now so I'm not overly confident we'll get it this month. We ovulated on CD 19 with DD, so we're just BD every other day until positive OPK and will do a few days in a row. Haven't started temping yet.

Any questions? No questions, I'm so overwhelmed at the thought of baby 2. DD a will be almost 4 or 4 depending on when we get pregnant. I'm trying to imagine life with two.

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? Probably business and communications. Both the class and teacher.

Thank you for understanding what I meant!! This is one of those comments I later worried made me sound like a horrible person... you said it much more eloquently. But yes, I have to remind myself that he is doing well even though I feel like I'm fumbling so many things. I tell myself that I've made it this far and he's such an awesome little boy who is healthy and full of life. If he's that great I can't be doing THAT badly. I've resigned myself to always feeling like I'm out of my depth - I think that might be what parenting is.
  • I just intro'd over on the intro thread, so I hope it's ok if I jump in here! Also, I will put my *TW (loss)* here.

What number are you trying for?
    Trying for #2

    Cycle/Month? 2 (1AL)

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)?DS will be 2.5 at the the end of next month

    Any thoughts about this cycle?
This is our second cycle TFAS. We got pregnant last cycle, but ended up with a MC starting 4 days after my missed period (pee and blood tests confirmed the pregnancy before MC). So I know going forward, there is going to be an added level of stress and anxiety. My cycles have always been short, and I ovulate anywhere from day 11 to day 12. So we are about to ovulate again, which is great, but I know we haven't exactly mentally processed the loss yet. So it's kind of a weird feeling right now.

    Any questions? Nope

GTKY: What was your favorite class in secondary school? Was it because of the topic, or the educator? I had an AMAZING teacher who taught my sophomore year of English class. It was my favorite class, 100% because of her.
  • @BurlapandLace Welcome!! I'm sorry for your loss. I hope moving forward your stay is short and happy.
