  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 26 weeks; coconut

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Feeling good today. still some occasional hip pain, but ok today.

    3) Any appointments this week? None til GD test early next month

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
We got a second high chair/booster seat and a pack n play from a consignment sale, but still need to get and assemble crib, refinish dresser, move furniture out of baby's room, etc. And I need to finish knitting and sewing baby blankets.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant is for DH--he's had a cold, said he was feeling better, so we had some sexy time, then yesterday he regressed and the doc thinks it is a bacterial infection, not viral, and put him on antibiotics! If he got me sick, I am going to murder him.

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received? I got some advice on some books/episodes of Daniel Tiger for DD to try to get her ready for baby...but I haven't actually used any of them yet! otherwise, I can't remember that much that has been helpful this time around.

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
27 weeks, head of lettuce, bottle of sriracha
    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Trying to get back into a routine after being out of town for 5 days. DS and I had a great sleep in this morning, so that was a nice re-set. Just still want ALL the fruit
    3) Any appointments this week?
    Midwife this afternoon!
    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)

Well we ordered a crib, so that's one thing! And we got given a shit-ton of hand me down girl clothes when we were visiting family, so that's awesome too.
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
it feels like my belly exploded over the weekend! I know my ab separation got way worse so that's probably why, and i definitely gained a few pounds
    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?
    Nope. none haha

  • ) How far along are you? How big is baby? 25 Weeks - Cauliflower

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Been feeling good. Had a 90 minute prenatal massage last week that REALLY helped with my hip and lower back discomfort. And I finally got myself back into a gym routine this week which feels nice (and fuels better eating habits as well).

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nothing until early October, and my 2 of 3 glucose test.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
Short answer, they're not, yet. Long answer, we are renovating our kitchen, my husband demo'ed it down to subfloor and drywall last weekend. Currently all of our millwork/cabinets are occupying what will become the baby's room. My son is using the bureau/changing table and crib, and I lent most of my little baby gear to my cousin, who is is either still using or storing it for me until I have space for it... I'm also a CPA and just trying to get through the 10/15 deadline, I have little brainspace for baby prep even if I could do something about it.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing this week!

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received? Don't. Google. Anything. My cousins' husband shared this after our first was born. The internet can really scare your pants off, especially when it comes to your baby. Ask friends with kids, your own parents, family, doctors, but don't google if you can avoid it.

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    28 weeks, bowling pin

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
I seem to get winded pretty easily. I had to sit down to clean the toilet yesterday because I had enough of bending over. And I could eat tomato/mozzarella/avocado sandwiches every day.

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nope next. I may have thought that last week, oops.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
Do childbirth and baby basics classes count? Because I signed us up for those. And our backup hospital tour, which at minimum is helpful for knowing what lot to park in.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My amazing brother came and refinished our bathtub so we can actually use it. He made sure to tell me that while most chemicals say you shouldn't be pregnant, this stuff REALLY made that clear, so I had to stay away until he taped off the room like a hazmat guy.

    6) GTKY:  What is some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?
Not baby related, but my aunt told me that if my whole house was clean at one time, then I wasn't living my life properly.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    28 weeks, eggplant

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Tired.  My iron test came back low so I'm thinking that's part of the exhaustion.  I don't know if they'll try to increase my numbers or not since I'm already taking iron with my prenatal.

    3) Any appointments this week?
Tomorrow.  My last monthly appt and then I go to every two weeks.  I'm glad because I do okay with my anxiety when I can check in every couple of weeks but monthly is really hard.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
My DH and I are taking the week off before my shower next month to get the rest of the baby's room cleaned out.  We won't really need the room until baby is out of our room at like 6 months but we're running out of places to put his stuff (a good problem to have, I know)

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm over the heartburn and exhaustion.  But still, time is going too fast so I'm trying not to rush it!

    6) GTKY:  What is some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?
If you start every action with love, then everything will work out for the best.

  • @babybison omg I've been so into tomato mozz sandwiches this whole pregnancy

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 28 weeks, an eggplant. Yay 3rd tri!

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Feeling pretty good but falling asleep has become kind of an issue lately. I want to sleep on my side but my back will hurt, regardless if I'm using my regular pillows or the snoogle. Then I'll prop my pillows up and try on my back which makes my back feel better, but it hurts my breathing. I haven't been sleeping great lately and as a result I wake up all puffy and tired which sucks. Still have a very good appetite but not craving anything specific.

    3) Any appointments this week?
    not until early Oct.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
going pretty well. Nursery is painted and the furniture is all in there and mostly assembled. We have a rug. Otherwise, we just need the stuff (shower is in early Nov).

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? see above back pain rant, ugh. Rave though is that I have a finalized plan for my maternity leave and better yet, I'm getting promoted and starting the new job when I return, which kind of makes things a little easier to come back to. Feeling excited.

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received? Boss said when I first told her back in May: "put your feet up when you can." She said it was something her boss told her when she was pregnant 12 years ago. At first I was like ugh god another "you'll never sleep again!" comment, but then actually I thought about it a lot and it has stuck with me. I don't think she means it to be like, rest now because you never will again, it's basically like, remember to take care of yourself. My aunt also told me recently "never say no to help" which is a solid piece of advice too.

  • ) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    26 weeks. A slow loris
    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
    Good. No cravings
    3) Any appointments this week?

Nope not for another week or two
    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
DH just finished painting nursery grey! He just needs to do the baseboards then we can really set up. Just booked some birthing classes at our hospital
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant- no one told me you need to book hospital tours at like 4 months. Tried to schedule mine... none left before due date. So I'm just gonna pick one of the two options I have based off what I see online. I'm sure it will be fine- but I wish someone had told me how early out they book up
    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?
    none so far
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 26 weeks

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Heart burn/acid reflex has hit but nothing unbearable. No major cravings still.

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nope. 24 hour urine catch last week though. They said my protein was slightly elevated but nothing to worry about yet.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
They are practically non-existent. We did hit up a multiples consignment sale and got baby girl some clothes (8 outfits, a cute onesie and 4 pjs for 20 bucks SCORE), but there really wasn't much else by the time we got there. Other than that, there really isn't too much to prep for when you have an 18 month old and the new baby isn't getting a nursery.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing to report this week!

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received? Totally agree with the ask for help / take people up on their offer to help sentiment. Seriously - if your friend/sister/neighbor says "let me know if you need anything" and you need milk or a babysitter while you do XYZ or even just take a nap, ask. I've found that the people that say this usually genuinely mean it. It's so easy to wave people off and try and do it all, but TAKE THE HELP.

    Me: 29  DH: 31
    Married 10/13/12

  • 25 weeks. Size of a cauliflower

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Tired, hard to breath. Leg cramps and more leg cramps. No cravings, maybe candy? My sweet tooth definitely made a come back.

    3) Any appointments this week?

I guess my dentist appointment yesterday was a result of my pregnancy (dentist saw me when I was like 3 months and wanted to make sure my oral health does well lol.)
Birthing class Saturday. They emailed me an awesome PDF book thing with tons of great information.
    OB appointment on Monday.

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
people keep giving me stuff! Which is awesome. I forgot to take stuff off my registry so I have duplicates. Hoping I'll be able to do returns.
Nursery, I've been slacking on my mural.
I just want to spend money and buy a crib, rocking chair, dresser, car seat... but I feel so broke haha!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
people giving me stuff that doesn't have all the pieces/can't be used. I think I mentioned this. The crib my sil gave me, not only is missing the screws but has a drop side and is illegal in Canada.
Waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back to sleep.

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?
keep washcloths near the kitchen so you can wipe the baby's face.
I'm sure there was something else, but that comes rocky mind.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 27 weeks - size of a head of lettuce!

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?  Just tired, working full time and chasing a toddler has got me worn out. My husband does a lot, but we don't have any family close by so it's mostly just us.

    3) Any appointments this week? Nope, but have the dreaded glucose test next week...

    4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.) Slowly, working on transitioning our son to his 'big boy bed' so we don't need to buy another crib.  Keep your fingers crossed!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?  No, just wish I felt better!

    6) GTKY:  What it some GOOD unsolicited advice you've received?  Nothing coming to mind, I unfortunately encountered the other kind of advice recently.

  • I'm not sure if this is "good" advice, or if it's even really advice.. but I was teaching some middle aged maintenance staff at work and they all started telling me stories of their wife's labour.
The one thing I found interesting, was one of the men said he got to cut the cord and he thought it was so cool and in his opinion every dad should get that privelage. So his advice, I guess to my husband, was to cut the cord.
  • @dilbert890 My DH wanted no part of cutting the cord! Too squeamish

    Married May 2014
    DD born August 2016

  • @cait5413 I would suggest to him to keep an open mind because my DH said the same thing. He also said he wanted to be by my head and not see anything... Well he held my leg and watched the entire thing like it was the most fascinating thing he ever saw, and cut the cord.

  • I think my husband would be too squeamish as well! It was an interesting take though, cool to hear things from a guy's perspective. My husband just sits and shrugs his shoulders.. typical guy...
  • @dilbert890 after all was said and done and we caught our breath I asked DH "did you watch the whole thing?? What did you think?" And he shrugs and says "meh, no worse than skinning a deer!".......... lol I couldn't help but laugh haha

  • @kvacmak we've already been through this once. This will be c-section #2. I don't expect him to change his mind. He stayed by my head and looked at my face as much as possible

  • @kvacmak lol!! I have a friend like that. Wanted to watch the whole c-section, but the doctors wouldn't let him for fear of nausea. He's like, I hunt and skin deers, this wouldn't be much different.. they still wouldn't let him.
  • @cait5413 duh I knew that lol well at least he knows what he wants haha

  • @cait5413 my DH is the same way. He wants nothing to do with cutting the cord.
