    Testing: Nah

    Typical LP Length: 12-13 days

Rant/Rave: RaVe: Feeling a little better today and will be reunited with MH on Friday!

    CS/Q: Nothing

GTKY: I live in a 90 year old house which MH and I have owned for eight years (time really flies). The house is in an inner ring suburb of a midwestern city. I love that the city is very walkable and that we're about a mile from parks on Lake Erie.

We own our house. bought it in 2009. It's in the suburbs. Our location is great cause I feel like we're in the center of a lot of things.

@jaylii not sure which part of Lake Erie you're talking about. But I just love hearing Lake Erie mentioned, so many childhood memories at the part near me.

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD/DPO: 32/12

    Timing: -3, -1, 0

    Testing:  Yesterday BFN

    Typical LP Length: 10/11

Rant/Rave: I've been so busy with school and painting the place we're moving into, by the time I can sit down and bump, it's around 11 pm and it doesn't feel right to add so late at night and I'm exhausted. It's been beautiful out lately, and the trees are beautifully colored. Peak season for leaf peeping will be soon.

CS/Q: I know my temp only went up because I was walking around a lot before bed, and got up to pee around 5 am, and it messed up my tempdrop readings for the night. I pulled open the data file and I think the temp it should be, is only a little higher than yesterdays, but I like pretending af isn't coming at any moment.

GTKY: A lot of people talked about house projects yesterday, so tell us about where you live. Apartment/condo/house? Rent or own? City/suburbs/rural?

Both of our homes are in very rural communities. The towns have K-12 schools as they are so small. We are currently moving from the house we have rented for the past 6 years to our friends trailer as she just moved in with her "boyfriend" (They're in their 50s so it seems weird to call him her boyfriend). We will be able to save about $5,000-$6,000 a year living there for the next 4 years so I'm willing to live in it to save money for our renovations at our forever home which is in Western NY. It's an 1850s farm house on 80 acres that is almost done. We just need to add an addition to expand and redo the kitchen and add a master bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room above the new kitchen.

@jaylii I love old houses and I'd love to live somewhere where I could walk around. I can walk in the woods, in both locations, but that's hiking not walking. As much as I love rural life, I will always miss being able to walk to restaurants and shops in city areas.

Testing: tomorrow at 10dpo, but I found this site that explains pretty well why testing at 10dpo is unlikely to be detectable via a urine test.

Rant/Rave: omg Oktoberfest yesterday was terrrrrrible. I knew it would be but wowza. Got my new luteal phase herbs tho. They're less bitter, which I actually don't love. It tastes kind of like a boring chai tea. I love chai but prefer it to be more flavorful lol. Going to the gym today! My friend joined my gym chain so I get a $150 referral fee and we can do classes together now!!!

We own a 2 bed/1 bath in NYC but it's complicated. DHs dad paid cash for it in 2010, and we pay the taxes and maintenance fees which are still fairly pricey. I'm not sure how people can afford them plus mortgages here, it seems like madness. We want to move, but how much we'd get from the sale is unknown.  We've renovated a lot, and it's almost doubled in value since 2010, so sometimes his dad says we'd get the profit, sometimes he says we'd get half the profit, sometimes he says we'd have to split the profit with DHs 3 siblings. So who knows. (And yea, DH comes from a verrrry different financial situation than I do.)
  • Very cool to hear about people's homes!

Month/Cycle: 6/5 (with some losses mixed in there)

    CD/DPO: 29/11

    Timing: -2, O

    Testing: Today... BFN

    Typical LP Length: 13

Rant/Rave: Rant -Feel like I still have so much to do this weekend, yikes, heading out on a work trip tomorrow afternoon. Rave - Going to brunch with a friend shortly.

CS/Q: Nope. Think I'm just WFAF but only time will tell.

GTKY: We live in a 3 bedroom house in a great neighborhood in a mid sized city in the southeast. I love our house but the third bedroom is actually in the basement which is not ideal, and the upstairs bedrooms are huge which actually I wish they were smaller and that there were 3 of them.... but the main thing we are likely to do in the foreseeable future is to redo the floors in the basement and the guest room. They are the only rooms with carpet (the rest is all hard wood) and we'd like to put down a nice wood look laminate instead.
  • @catlady1215 I live near Cleveland. My childhood Lake Erie memories are further east near Ashtabula where my grandmother and lots of family lived. Where part are you from?
@jhysmath 80 acres in western NY sounds beautiful. I really am a city mouse though and not sure I'd ever live rural.
@Augusta108 Where you live sounds nice. Although there's always projects to be done in our house, I've loved owning. It's nice to not share walls with neighbors and have a backyard.
@doxiemoxie212 Your situation with FIL does sound unique. I love visiting NUC but couldn't afford to live there!
  • @jaylii I'm from Pittsburgh. So we would spend summers up in Erie on the peninsula.

  • @jaylii Great GTKY today! Glad you're feeling better. Your city sounds beautiful. It must be so great to be near Lake Erie!
@jhysmath So excited for the leaves to change colors soon! Our area is really beautiful too during the fall. That's awesome that you have the opportunity to move into your friend's place so you can save money to save up to complete your home. 80 acres? That's incredible! What will you do with all the space?
@Augusta108 That's so neat that you have so much accessible to you near your home!
@doxiemoxie212 Thanks for sharing that website! It's cool to see all those numbers.
@zamora_spin Have fun at brunch today and hope you get everything accomplished!

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD/DPO: 22/8

    Timing: Every day but -2

Testing: Tuesday probably. Feel like I've had some minor cramping which is the same thing that happened last cycle when I had a 9-day LP, so we'll see.

    Typical LP Length: 11ish

Rant/Rave: Got in an early morning trip to the grocery store before it got too crowded. Having a lazy day so far, but hoping to go for a run/do some sort of exercise later. I watched La La Land last night and it was only okay. I found the ending a bit disappointing. :/

GTKY: We own a 4-bedroom house on the East coast and bought it almost 8 years ago after we got married. I guess you could call it suburbs since we're not too far from Baltimore and DC. There are a ton of trails and city parks near our house which are great for biking, running, and exploring. We really love the city we live in, but will probably be searching for a new house in the next couple of years. Four bedrooms might sound like a lot, but they're all really tiny, along with the rest of the house, so we get in each other's way a lot. It's a great house though and we really lucked out finding when we did.

  • @jaylii I grew up in a city and really hated that I couldn't have a nice sized garden or chickens. I really want chickens.

@offtoneverland the leaves changing is beautiful, people come from all over the world to where I live to see them change. We call those people leaf peepers. It makes for a long drive if we go to the southern part of the state dealing with back roads and people stopping and blocking the roads to look at the leaves. Our property in ny is mostly wooded we've created trails for our side by side through some of it. I'd love to have a large garden and animals when we get back there in the next 4 years, right now we only spend our summers there so I can't do much garden and animal wise.
  • Month/Cycle:11

Testing: two days ago,  again BFN just waiting for AF at this point.

    Typical LP Length: 13 days

Rant/Rave: rant: did absolutely zero research on glacier to find out,  no dogs are allowed on trails. That's not something I really thought about since you can have dogs everywhere in Oregon.  I just found a area near by that allows dogs so we're going to hike there and then drive through glacier.  Rave: love our hotel!

    CS/Q:no

GTKY: A lot of people talked about house projects yesterday, so tell us about where you live. Apartment/condo/house? Rent or own? City/suburbs/rural?

We're in a similar but not quite Situition as @doxiemoxie212. DH's parents bought the 3 bedroom house we're in now.  It's in a cul-de-sac which I love.  We have the best neighbors on the planet.  We grill,  bbq, and do everything together.  The only downside is that we need a bigger house.  Our kitchen is way to small and since we're trying to start a family we need another room.  The house itself just doesn't work for us.  But on the bright side,  his parents set up the house loan like a bank.  DH owns the house but we pay the bank of mom and dad.  Our house has doubled in value so once we sell it,  we'll be able to pay his parents back as well as put a down payment on the new house and pay off all the car loans.  It's a really ideal situation. The new house is so pretty.  I'm dying to get moved in!  We're going to be going from 1400 Sq ft to 3500 and be closer to our work and family
  • @jhysmath There's a movement happening where people are petitioning urban cities to allow chickens. My city now allows chickens and so does the nearby city I live in. MH says no which is fine because I don't have a huge interest in it. That may be because we already have a dog and two cats running around here, ha MH does put up with my other hippie practices like composting though! I don't have much land, but I do enjoy container gardening.
  • @jaylii the city I grew up in said you can have them if you have an acre of land. My parents only had a quarter acre so we were not allowed. I have an awesome vermicomposting system in my classroom only occasionally do I get any smell from it. MH likely would allow my compost bin at home provided he doesn't have to see it.
  • i’m really loving the GTKYs today!

@jaylii Wow a 90 year old house!  Does it still have original features inside or has it been renovated?

@catlady1215 I agree, the weekends go by way too fast!

@jhysmath  Your forever home sounds amazing.  Best of luck with all the renovations, I hope it becomes your dream home!

    @Augusta108 Love the lazy Sundays!

@doxiemoxie212 Wow your NYC place sounds amazing.  Very complicated, but amazing still.  I love living in the country but I kind of wish DH and I had some city living time even if it was short-lived.  It just seems so fun to be able to walk (or take a train) to a lot of cool stuff!

@offtoneverland  Sorry about the cramping.  Hope it’s not anything.  i would love being so close to DC…i’m going to a work conference in a couple of weeks and could not be more excited!

@galactickates GL with new house!  What a great place to be!
  • Month/Cycle:  2/2

CD/DPO: 22/3  I always O late and this cycle feels especially slow because I’m benched.  But I should be off the bench by the time I O again!

    Timing:  eh

    Testing: nope

    Typical LP Length: 12ish

Rant/Rave: No rants today.  Raves:  lazy, quiet Sunday doing miscellaneous things around our house and getting ready for the busy work week.

    CS/Q:  Nothing to stalk here.

GTKY:   DH and I just bought our first home together 6 weeks ago.  We lived in a condo that he owned while we were engaged and through our first couple years of marriage.  It’s a 4-bedroom colonial in a rural part of New England.  Although we are only 30 minutes from the nearest major city (where we both work) so I guess we could be considered a suburb but it’s very quiet out here.  We love our new home!
  • @quiltandknit lol the grass is always greener; I wish we lived in a house (though admittedly I wish it were in CA -- I'm over winter :)) in a more rural/suburban area
  • @quiltandknit Our house is a mix of original and renovations. Like our kitchen for example, looks 80s haha We do have a lovely built in linen closet upstairs with huge blanket drawers that I love. We also have great built ins cabinets in our dining room. See spoiler.

  • @jaylii I love the built in cabinets!  And I love the color you painted the dining room!
  • Well, I'm headed to WTO. I really hope none of you follow me!
