FFFC 9/15/17

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

Re: FFFC 9/15/17

  • Although this carpal tunnel is pretty horrible, I like that it gives me a good reason not to do chores around the house. DH should be picking up the slack at this point anyway. I had a feeling third trimester would be rough and I warned him. Now he sees why I was in a hurry to get stuff done before I went back to work.

  • @NYTino24 if only DH would do more around the house. I hoped with my SIL that I swear he does things wrong so that I'll take over and she just laughed cause her husband was nodding in agreement that that's why DH was doing. The one thing he does have to do for me is bring the laundry basket down and up the stairs for me.
I still drink a ton of caffeine on days I work, less than before but no where near the recommendation of a single cup a day.
  • @NYTino24 @MaximumEffort I feel the same way about my DH. He thinks that since he's only home for a week or so at a time that he shouldn't have to do anything, but I feel like he should have to do most things since it's on me the rest of the time. Mind you, we have two other children...

I'm skipping a wedding this weekend to stay home and bake stuff with my daughters.

@MaximumEffort @littlemissc17 Oh he isn't doing much YET. But there are 5 days of dishes in the sink (kitchen was supposed to be renovated already and a dishwasher put in) and two laundry baskets of clothes that I'm not folding. Granted he's been working 48 hour shifts and taking classes once or twice a week or so, but I'm done. If our house is gross, I'm not cleaning it.

  • @NYTino24 Strike! Lol! You should provide us with updates on how long it takes before he does it. Like Day 6 and dishes are still in sink lol
  • I've been eating all the bad things. Just about every day I have a "runny" egg for breakfast. It's really the only way I will eat eggs and the protein in the morning is the only thing that fills me and settles my tummy. I ordered a smoked salmon salad the other night at a restaurant - it came our fully cooked. Yesterday I had a mcflurry from mcdonalds.
  • I've been eating over-easy/sunny side up eggs this entire pregnancy. I hadn't thought about it as a problem, hm. Oh well, too late now.

FFFC - Today I think I am going to spend $100 on the King Arthur Flour website. I only feel a little guilty.

  • I was so exhausted when I got home last night that I just refused to cook dinner. I knew if H had to cook after his surgery finished around 8, he would just pick up chipotle on his way home instead. And he did.

I also confuse to having a huge hormonal meltdown about our backyard landscaping yesterday. They planted two (what will be big) trees in the completely wrong place that blocks off half the yard now and I was full on crying at work about it. They dug them up and moved them a little but I'm still pissed they planted without our consent to placement. They had to change some layout and  I'm just not happy now

  • @LittleMissc17 He won't be home until tomorrow morning and he has to get a shot for his broken toe, then we are headed to childbirth class and a wedding... so it's gonna be another two days. Meanwhile I'm living on cereal, leftovers, and fruit. I had McD's yesterday to help clear my gut out and to avoid cooking / making more dishes. Ordinarily, he does the grocery shopping, washes and dries the clothes (even looks at tags), cooks, does the yard work, and does dishes about half the time. I do the cleaning, folding and putting away of clothes, and dishes the rest of the time.... so he really does usually pull his weight. But he's also playing in a couple of softball leagues and he signed up even after I warned him that I'd be useless soon.

  • I'm just pissed that my DH is completely unreachable during the day. We have email, texts, instant messenger, two types of phone (cell and land line), and he responds to NOTHING. Is it really that damn hard to look at your phone every once in a while to see if you have a text? You are sitting at your desk at least part of the day, look at the damn instant messenger! GAH!

  • @NYTino24 he definitely does way more than my DH does lol! Hopefully all the things will get done considering how busy your weekend sounds!
  • After reading this thread I feel bad for getting upset with DH when he puts his dirty dish in the sink and not the dishwasher. He picks up 100% of the slack in our home. He bathes DS, gets him ready for bed, dresses him in the morning, prepares his lunch for daycare, brings him and picks him up from daycare. He just finished putting the crib together today and is now taping our family room so I can paint it. He mows the lawn and takes the garbage out. Literally anything I ask him to do, he will do right then and there without hesitation. I guess I should feel very fortunate and let up on the few things he does that drives me crazy.

  • After reading this I feel better knowing DH isn't the only one who doesn't do anything. He works A LOT. Don't get me wrong. I see him one weekend a month. He works the rest of the time and is at drill this weekend for reserves. But he could totally help out in the morning before work (he works 2ND shift) just like he expects me to do everything after my job (I work days) I'm sorry I'm growing a human and working 40+ hours a week. I shouldn't have to do anything. I can get him to bring laundry up and down stairs if I bug him enough. And that's it. If I want food I need to cook. I do the dishes. I pick up the dog poop (like once every 2 weeks). He will vacuum when it gets too much for him and do the cat litter (if it's every 2 weeks I'm lucky). But there's stuff EVERYWHERE and most of its his. I just can't clean anymore and our house is a disaster. I want to throw things out but it's not mine. Not to mention there's hunting stuff and guns and military stuff in the nursery. I ask multiple times a day for him to go through it but of course he hasn't. I just don't have patience anymore and I wanna scream. I just watched a documentary on minimalism and it made me wanna throw things out even more
  • @kaitlinliz I just broke down twice yesterday. I can't do ANYTHING with this carpal tunnel. My hands just won't work. It's so upsetting that things won't get done if I don't do them. I am going to ask MIL and my mom to come help.

  • @NYTino24 I'm so sorry! My fibro has been awful and my hands started swelling this week so the pain is even worse. I'm so tired due to everything and just wanna cry. I wish they understood!
