We have a friend coming over for the weekend, and I'm doing the laziest "cleaning" ever. Basically, I'm giving the house the illusion of being clean, when it's actually kind of gross. I'm still feeling shitty, and things have gotten way behind. Oops. At least I'm making a nice dinner and washing the sheets and towels... ?
...I'm actually ashamed to admit this. But at 31 I almost set my microwave on fire. I put in a Mr. Noodle package that clearly stated, in big, bold letters, not to put in the microwave. When I heard the sparking and eventually pulled it out, the package was on fire.
I am definitely not going to be in the running for MOTY today.
I am currently pretending that I don't know my kids are watching videos on YouTube bc I want them to be entertained so I can get a nap. I set a rule that they can only watch them once the sun goes down bc that's all they wanted to do this summer. I know I shouldn't let them think they are getting away with something, but I am so tired after taking three toddlers hiking. I'll strive to be a better parent tomorrow.
After I rest, I am taking them to the gym daycare. There will be no working out by me. I will just be getting showered and ready in peace while they play. We are taking them to Zac Brown tonight, so I feel no guilt about wanting to do my hair in peace.
I sent my almost 2 yr old to bed early without her cup of milk that she always begs for before bed last night because I was so upset with her. I figured it was better thank spanking her (although I am not opposed to this). I guess I haven't figured out how to discipline a toddler. After listening to her cry so hard I thought she was going to throw up I felt bad. Besides not getting her milk she didn't get her bedtime story or tucked in by mommy and daddy.
I'm working on a plan to try to convince my sister to dump her fiancé. I don't think it will work but I feel like I have to try. I've only interacted with him a handful of times but from what I've observed and have heard from my parents, she's making a huge mistake and is going to be pushing 30 and entering into her second bad marriage. I'll skip the identifying details of the plan but I have to try to get her to step back and think without making things super awkward & miserable if/when she does go through with it. For them, I just want my sisters to have happy marriages. For myself, for crying out loud, could I please get a halfway decent BIL? Is that so much to ask??
And, when I was staying at hotels while TTC, I'd hide all my vitamins in my bag during the day. This stay I purposely left my prenatals out in hopes that the housekeeper would leave me extra cookies and water.

I am that teacher who takes way longer than necessary to grade stuff. Sorry. I hate grading. But I feel like I make up for it by never ever assigning homework.

Related: a while back I accidentally microwaved a fork. And nothing happened. Like, WTF kind of magical fork can be microwaved? It was from the set we registered for at Williams-Sonoma when we got married. I'm still mystified.

FFFC: I went to the Pizza Hut lunch buffet today. And now I want to order pizza for supper. DH doesn't know I went to Pizza Hut. Wonder if I can swing this...
We've taken off the majority of hurricane shutters from our house since hurricane Irma passed, except for a few of the more difficult ones to put on and the one on our DS's window, because he's been sleeping in until close to 9 am since his room is dark and I am all about this waking up late life until I have to go back to work next week.
@muggle621 Pft I shower every other day and only wash my hair twice a week. I mean, things get rinsed daily and I don't exercise so... Also dry shampoo is my best friend.

My FFFC is that I typically only go on TB at work. Most of the time when I'm home I'm too busy and once the kids go to bed I'm not long behind and then on weekends it's too crazy normally for me to log on so if I don't post for a while it's because it's busy at work
I'm thinking of creating a baby registry just so that I can use the 10% off coupon they send you after your shower date to buy the few things that are left. We need a new car seat (the baby one from the last 2 kiddos expired) and I'd love a double stroller, plus our baby monitor is acting weird (lots of static) so I'm planning on putting stuff like that on a registry, not even telling anyone I have a registry because I'm not expecting anyone to really buy anything (this is our third and we already have 1 boy and 1 girl so we have almost everything we need) and just using the coupon to get the big expensive stuff we need a little cheaper. And I don't feel guilty about it at all.
I don't shower as often as most people here. An even bigger confession is that I once went almost a week without showering. I was on a backpacking trip and there was no shower available.
The smell of my hand soap is really bothering me. I have 2 types I've been alternating between and now they both are a trigger for my nausea. So last night I decided to just wash my hands with water if I'm peeing. It grosses me out. But when I'm peeing 6 times a night, I can't keep making myself nauseous from soap. Gonna try to go get some new stuff today!
@LaurenAnn0405 I think everyone makes secret registries for subsequent kids just to get the discount and free stuff/coupons in the welcome packet. I'm doing one and I barely need anything new for #2 besides new bottles and breast pump stuff.
A day late, but.... I had DH pick me up McDonalds and then ate my entire meal while he was getting ready to go on a run. Ha. Hahahaha. Ah well, least one of us is exercising...
