1st Trimester

Brown discharge 7 wks 1 day

i started spotting last night like pinkish discharge and it stopped. I got sick last night before bed and then I woke up this morning around 5 and had brown discharge. No cramping, no pain. Really nervous, first pregnancy and not sure what's going on. I have been having normal symptoms since the pink discharge but I'm still scared. Trying not to worry or put stress on body. Will be calling OB-GYN soon as they open! My first ultrasound was Thursday (8/24) everything looked great so please pray for me today ❤️

If it's not heavy red blood, no pain, and not continuing on (Brown blood = old blood) there really is no need to worry.  If you had an ultrasound that was partially internally or if you had sex lately - it irritated your cervix, causing the pinkish discharge and brown blood.  Personally, I wouldn't bat an eye at it.  I would just watch it, if it gets worse the pinkish discharge turns to blood, and you start having a lot of pain then it warrants a phone call.

If it makes you feel better to call, then it won't hurt, but honestly I don't think they will tell you much else.

  • I have also had some intermittent brown discharge. I don't cramp with it and it goes and comes but never gets worse. I asked my Dr about it when I went to see her and she said it meant nothing and to stop worrying about it. She said "as long as it doesn't progress & turn bright red, you are just fine". She did say any kind of trauma to the cervix can cause it... like intercourse. Ask yout man to not go so deep.

I also read where in early pregnancy, it can be the body ridding itself of old blood from a previous period or left over implantation blood. The body is constsntly cleaning itself, to ensure a germ free environment for the baby. Keep an eye on things and if your gut tells you something isn't right, call your dr... otherwise you sound like you are progressing normally. Good luck!
  • I also have the same issue but for me its when my husband and i get intimate. It worries me, i have an appointment for an ultrasound month end.
