This is a weekly check in for the mamas  who have made it to the 3rd trimester!!! If you are in week 28 or past, feel free to join in on the weekly fun.

If you're just joining us please post a:
•Mini synopsis in your first post with your EDD
•How many babies you are pregnant with
•If you know the gender(s)
•How you have been feeling in your 3rd tri
•Any upcoming or recent appointments you may have had

Feel free to share pictures of your bump, nurseries, baby gear, and of course those babies when they arrive!

QOTW: Just for fun, if you could magically gift your partner one aspect/thing from your pregnancy so you didn't have to deal with it what would it be?

Re: 3rd trimester Check-in Week September 11

  • Happy Monday! I wanted send another big congrats to all of our new Mamas this week!

Nothing new with me, 33+ 4 with Little Girl Riley. Heartburn loves to rear its ugly head each night which is fun but other than that things are still going smooth! We have an appointment tomorrow afternoon just a regular check and we have wrapped up all the classes that we planned on taking this pregnancy so now just trying to finish up the nursery and get organized :)

QOTW: Honestly I think I would pass my heartburn and acid reflux over to hubs. It's been pretty bad for the past few weeks so it would be nice if he just finished it out for me haha :D Other than that I wouldn't trade anything in the world :)

  • Congrats again to the new mamas this week!! How is everyone settling in??

33 weeks here! Losing steam a little bit so I'm just trying to finish up what I can so I can take some naps towards the end ;) It seems like our families are going nuts (my dad is selling his house and moving, husbands parents are also moving, family things we "need" to be at every other weekend) so we're trying to say no to what we can, we really need some low key nights for everyone's sanity :)

QOTW the peeing. I flat out peed myself the other day while sneezing, and am up countless times at night. I'd love to pass that off ;)

Congrats to all of the new mommas!!!

Guys. It's crazy to see my name at the top of the list!! I'm 30+3 today with my trio. Things are going pretty well--no changes at least, which I consider a win! Next appt is wednesday, and at this point we're pretty much just evaluating my mono/di pair and seeing how they're doing and if I need to deliver. I'm feeling good about 32 weeks (and am hoping that if things stay stable I'll be able to go a little farther than that).

Also just want to good-naturedly complain about how large I am at this point...my over the bump maternity shorts don't fit over the bump. My maternity shirts don't cover the bump. It's a weapon. Out of control! Haha

QOTW--have to agree with  @Polythene Pam on this one--I can't take all of the peeing! Not only is it annoying, but it's hard to get out of bed at this point so peeing at night is work. I could also do without all of the anxiety every time I wipe and brace myself to see blood/something that indicates a problem. To be fair, my husband has been pretty incredible over the past 9 weeks, through my bed rest and hospitalization. Cooking, cleaning, manning the fort, visiting me every single day while I was admitted...this man is a winner. I would still pass off the peeing though hahaha
  • @srh18 way to go!! 30+3!! you are a rockstar for cooking those boys so long! I hope everything looks good mid week. (I feel you on the peeing... getting out of bed with the twins was so challenging and then doing it what felt like every hour....)

Hi Ladies! (Edited: Fyi @Joslynj11 this is @Jeansis. I don't know why the app thinks I am knottie..... Must have gotten logged out or something....) Anyways *I* (@Jeansis lol) am just joining the 3rd trimester! I'm 28.5 weeks with one boy! Feeling pretty good today. Had a bit of an emotional day, crying on and off all day of little things. Mondays are always kind of stressful for me though, so not too out of the ordinary. I have an appointment this Friday. Just a routine check. I also met and hired my doula this weekend, so that is exciting! :)

As far as symptoms I'd like to pass on to DH, it's a tie between the night peeing and the heartburn. Both are pretty annoying, but neither one is unbearable yet. However, I am jealous of his ability to sleep through the night, so it would probably be the night peeing.
  • Sorry to post again, but just confirming that last post (Knottie......) was indeed me. Was logged in under a different email connected to a really old account from before I got married that I didn't even know I had!

Hey there. Checking in at 30w5d. With a COLD. Ugh. Seriously? All the pregnancy symptoms werent enough? Being sick while pregnant is a new level of miserable. /end rant.

I believe I've also started having BH contractions. Kinda feels like a cramps you get when running and the belly gets really hard. But I've also noticed by belly is actually pretty hard all the time these days. I guess as you grow that's what happens?

QOTW: What symptom would I have DH take for me? Aside from the cold he'll probably get from me anyway? The swelling/numbness/cankles situation I got goin' on. :)

  • 31+6 with our nugget :)  Feeling pretty good overall, another checkup the end of this week but really nothing eventful to report on my end.  He's still moving like crazy, too. Forget kick counts, I can usually count on one hand the number of hours in a day I DON'T feel him kickboxing in there lol.  Picked up my new kid-wagon this weekend, and I'm so happy with it; not only is it about 1000 times easier to get in and out of now, but reaching for kiddo in his carrier/car seat is going to be SO much easier, plus I got all the upgraded safety features and all, so DH feels better with me in it.

QOTW: LOL he can have labor and delivery!  Pregnancy has not been all that bad for me, honestly (I wouldn't say I'm one of those women who just loooooves being pregnant, but it's not torture either), but I'd gladly forego having to deliver this little watermelon.  Although I do have to admit, I thought I'd be a nervous wreck about delivery (I'm not particularly good with medical settings), but the closer I get, the more I surprise myself with how zen I am about the whole thing.
  • @latershrader I swear we must be there same person. Sounds like you had my labor and delivery!  ;) As for breastfeeding, don't give up hope! You can still be successful! Talk to @JWatt5 about increasing your supply. It's still a possibility.
  • @latershrader don't give up on BF if you really want to. it make take a while for your milk to come in. Keep working with an LC.  pumping and practicing nursing and skin to skin can all help.

  • @latershrader I'll be having a csection and premature delivery. The lactation consultant at my hospital told me it could take a week or more for my milk to come in. Recommendation was to pump frequently and wait. Have you tried power pumping? Are you pumping at night too? Both recommended by the LC. If nothing else, fed is best and even though I know it's hard to give up on what you have pictured in your head, it isn't a failure. We can only control so much.

Your baby is gorg! Congrats momma!
  • @latershrader what a cutie!! Love that hair! I had a tough delivery and my milk never came in enough, then my daughter also had an intolerance on top of that. I made it 6 weeks and had such a hard time mentally stopping, but... my daughter was healthy, happy and smart :) keep on doing what's best for you but just giving "the other side" in case you need/want to :) give that sweetie a snuggle from us!!
  • @latershrader He is SOOO handsome! Good luck with BF I hope, your milk comes in soon but sounds like you are doing an awesome job right now!

@Jeansis I will get you added but please do send your EDD at some point so I can update that part as well. Welcome to the 3rd tri!

  • @Joslynj11 Has your OB recommended daily Nexium by any chance? It was the only thing that really knocked out my heartburn.
@srh18 You are such a champ for cooking those 3 little babes this long!
@LeFemmeViolette Ugh, feel better. Being sick while pregnant seriously blows.
@latershrader What a cutie pie! Fingers crossed that your milk comes in. In addition to what everyone posted previously, maybe someone can bake you lactation cookies, and have a beer (like a yummy oatmeal stout) at night if that's your thing.

I'm 38 weeks today with the little girl. Good lord, only 2 weeks until the due date. I'm starting to get "wow, you're still here?!?" reactions at both work and the gym, so I assume I'm starting to look to the rest of the world like I am ready to pop. At my OB appt yesterday, however, the doc said she doesn't appear to be in any hurry to enter the world, although we still haven't done a cervix check. I don't think I'm going to have them check (unless something changes) until the 40 week appt.

QOTW: I have honestly really enjoyed pregnancy for the most part, but I would probably have to gift DH my 9 months of heartburn. Although it would also be funny if he got to experience peeing himself while sneezing just once!
  • @latershrader congrats lady!!! Gosh I remember this time last year being on the IUI pages with you!! Hope all is going ok! Let me know if you want any tips - Parker had a tramatic entry and it lead to us having a really rough start with feeding and me having poor supply to start. I was able to get it back up though with pumping on a schedule. You can add Blessed Thistle as well with the Fenugreek. It helps!! Good luck and feel free to reach out!! Lots of love.

  • @latershrader it took almost a week for my milk to come in! Don't feel discouraged! Continue getting the baby to latch and pump if you can. It's all about supply and demand. If you have thyroid issues I would definitely stop the fenugreek it can actually decrease supply. Just try to eat enough and drink plenty of water.
  • @srh18 oh my goodness congrats!!! I love their names! Keep us posted on how they're doing (and you!!) ❤️❤️
  • @srh18 Yaaaaaaaaay! That's fantastic to hear. How are you feeling?

  • @latershrader love to see the pic of your little nugget! I am sorry feeding has been rough. I havent had supply issues but I have had direct nursing issues- so I am exclusively pumping for now, probably longterm. It's tough when you have to change plans but I know Eli will be just fine. Also, I totally hear you on falling more in love with your husband- I am having the exact same reaction! Congratulations <3
