Re: Saturday Ticker Change 8/9
24 weeks! Babies are the size of freaking PUFFINS! My favorite bird ever.
2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Feeling good. Got the usual suspects; acid reflux, heartburn, restlessness leg syndrome, general feeling of giantness. Oh, and shortness of breath anytime now I do anything. It's great.
3) Any appointments this week?
I've got an Appt with my OB Monday morning and an Appt for my every other week detailed ultrasound right after. I'll be at kaiser like all day, basically.
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
Registry is done! That only took about a hundred years. Baby shower invites are apparently going out today, but I don't really believe that. Nursery isn't being put together until we move into our new house in October, but I've got the rug and cribs, and I know what dresser I'm getting and what paint color I'm doing. It's all up here in my head
My husband is coming home from a business trip today and then we're driving up to our new house to go over what we need our contractor to do starting Monday. Gonna meet with our floor guy to talk about stair design and then pick out baseboards. Very exciting stuff. Well
probably go to this giant picnic thing tomorrow that they do every Sunday in our city. It's got a ton of food stands and food trucks and we'll bring some chairs and post up all day. I need poutine desperately. Hopefully the weather won't be sooooo shitty, but I'm not holding my breath.
Hope you guys have a great weekend!
25 weeks today! He's as big as a baseball mitt, apparently. There is no hiding him anymore either. I had a student say "Are you PREGNANT?!" very loudly in class and was separately approached by 3 parents asking when I'm due/how far along/etc.
2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
3) Any appointments this week?
No
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
Rant- just finished the first week of kindergarten, which meant endless shoe tying. It was a little annoying but not awful before, but now it's getting to be really hard for me to do it! If your kid can't tie their shoes then why don't they wear velcro, or slip-ons? Ugh
Rave: I love my class!! I definitely have the good class out of the 3 kinders at my school.
Going to a Husky (University of Washington) game today with my cousin. Then I have some things to get ready for school for Monday. And I have my Seahawks to watch tomorrow!

Had my GD screening this Tuesday. Followed up with them Friday and found out I passed pretty easily! That was a huge relief since we still don't have a kitchen and dietary changes right now would be super hard. Also my hemoglobin was great (13.8!) which I had been a little concerned about because I switched vitamins several weeks ago to one without iron after I kept getting constipated. Since the antibody screen was also negative I can stop in later this week for my RhoGAM shot.
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
@breezybee Your dream is hilarious! I wish I could remember mine. I usually don't within 2 minutes of waking up.
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.) So my Dad was so generous and bought our crib and dresser, DH painted last weekend. All we really have to do is decorate, which is a battle between dinosaurs, and hunting/fishing themed.
@moonlady-2 & @rebeckyjoy you are SO not most unprepared - don't worry! We haven't even closed on our house yet so baby's room essentially doesn't exist.
@Kirss happy anniversary!
2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Feeling ok. The usual symptoms of course but nothing unexpected.
3) Any appointments this week? No appointments but I have to go to Quest at some point for my glucose tolerance test which I'm not excited about.
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.) Registry is done, but as I mentioned above, we still need to close on our house (Thursday, finally!) so the nursery probably won't be touched until probably November once we've finished preliminary renovations and furnished the rooms we'll be using right away. I do have a good idea in my head though.
@Piccola1988 Good luck with closing!! We closed 2 weeks ago. I know how stressful it is!!!

Saturday we visited our friends and their new baby in the morning, the ran errands, then had a couple other friends over for dinner a board games. Today, Sunday, I went to town to work on a charity quilt project with my guild; DH stayed home and did a long list of chores that have been piling up. Good, productive weekend!
@moonlady-2 hopefully he finds its calming too and STTN right away, hahah one can wish
@Amber_Waves MMM Tamales!
@moonlady-2 Im so glad that you guys are in your new house finally! What a freaking relief.
I'll be the most ecstatic person alive whenever we finallyove into our new house. Between the long list of items on our to do list and my husband's constant complaining, I just hope I make it that far without murdering someone.
OMG @rebeckyjoy hang in there! It's always better to do a job right than to rush it and hate it forever. But that extra waiting realllllllly sucks. Yay for a passed GD screen!
@Kirss your babies room is adorable. Now you'll have it all set up to stuff it full of cute baby things!
YAAAAAASSSSS @Amber_Waves to new she at the Costco takeout counter. Their rostisserie chickens are so effing delicious. Now I want one and it a only 7:41am.
@moonlady-2 You are definitely not alone on the unprepared thing. The office we're planning on turning into the nursery is still very full of office stuff. We've finally chosen cribs, buy haven't purchased them yet. We have a general idea of a color scheme, but haven't looked for anything. Also, I can't imagine trying to tie all those kids shoes! I can barely do my own.
@rebeckyjoy Yay for passing the GD test and great hemoglobin levels. I checked my results online and my hemoglobin was a little low (10.??). I haven't been the greatest with taking iron because it makes my reflux worse and it already sucks to high hell and even more now that I'm pregnant.
@Kirss Good luck with your tests and happy anniversary! You're nursery is coming along well.
@Piccola1988 Good luck with your GD test and closing on your house!
@Amber_Waves Sounds like you had a busy weekend.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
LOL, we've kind of finished our registry, but we're still adding little things here and there. The nursery...see above.
Rave: Still just happy my babies are healthy.
We got last minute tickets to the U of M football game (Go Blue!) on Saturday. I was totally prepared for all the walking, but totally forgot that we'd have a ton of stairs to get to our seats. On the way down, it was a little rough, but my God, I thought I would pass out on my way up. I was supposed to go to the bathroom and get something to eat, but my SO texted me to remind me that he had my money. There was no way I'd do those stairs again besides to go home so of course he had to bring it up, bless his heart. We went dinner afterwards and I was knocked out shortly after getting home. We did a little baby shopping (took advantage of the 25% off car seats at BRU, plus got the 10% multiples discount). Went to dinner again, but I felt sick and couldn't eat very much.
One of my BFFs asked me if kids were invited because she wanted to bring her unvaccinated niece, who I have no connection to, and her sort of boyfriends bratty bratty 3 year old. No dude. These aren't even your kids. They can't come. No.
@clovelyone I have one friend who actually may be giving birth as I type this (she was supposed to be induced last night), who I absolutely want to bring her baby to the shower and she knows this, but everyone else is forbidden from bringing children. Unless it says on the invitation "children welcome" I don't know why anyone would think it's okay!
@Amber_Waves I love productive weekends! I had one too!
@Piccola1988 Hope the closing goes well!
@Kirss I get nervous now too when I don't feel regular kicks. Also, I like that chair in your nursery. Is it a glider? And if so do you know what make/brand?
@rebeckyjoy We also have a dresser that needs to be refinished (just the top, I painted the rest) and part of a registry, so you're not alone!
@moonlady-2 I got excited because I thought you were a UConn fan at first, but no, wrong Huskies! Hope your team won!
@breezybee Your dream is amazing and now I want poutine!

3) Any appointments this week?
Had a quick OB visit on Thursday. This was the first appointment I've had where we didn't do at least a quick ultrasound, so I was a little sad, but I'll get to see them next week at the MFM. We're meeting with our potential pediatrician tomorrow, so hopefully that goes well.
4) How are your baby preparations going? (Nursery/ Registry/ Etc.)
24 weeks, it says cantaloupe, but that seems too big.
3) Any appointments this week?
No, but at my next visit I have to do the Gestational Diabetes test, so I have to stare at the bottle in the fridge every day until then. It actually is good motivation to stay on track with cutting down on sugar.

Went to a wedding last weekend, but left before 9 pm because I was in some pain in lower belly. This happens pretty much daily, but especially on busy days. It's b/c of my fibroid. This coming weekend we are touring the maternity ward at the hospital where we plan to go for delivery. Time is seriously flying by!
