  • @nytino24 Thanks for starting the thread!

    2. Share any part of your history you feel comfortable sharing. CP in December 2016

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?
Pretty good...but feeling tortured that I get hungry, but cannot eat because I already feel full after a few bites. Every meal is a challenge and snacking sucks too. Also, it feels like she is pressed against my abdomen all evening and there is no room left in my stomach.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?
Good. He is excited and is actually interested in the classes we just signed up for, so that's good.

    5. GTKY: What is something you would tell yourself if you could go back to the beginning of your pregnancy?
Work out and stay more active. I have been trying to walk, but wish I kept up with running at least through 20 weeks to be more fit. I now feel like a whale and it just feels like a struggle to go walking and do the elliptical sometimes.

    2. Share any part of your history you feel comfortable sharing.  NMC at 7w6d in Jan.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? Just fighting my body. Hand my second hospital visit for contractions last week.

    4. How is your SO handling everything? He's noticing my difficulty sleeping and he's being pretty good about it. He keeps smudging my belly pillow when I'm on the other side, and I have to pull it out from under him when I flip. It has not been fun.

    5. GTKY: What is something you would tell yourself if you could go back to the beginning of your pregnancy?
You are both going to be okay. You know your body very well!!!!

    2. Share any part of your history you feel comfortable sharing. 2 missed m/c, Oct 2010 and Oct 2016, septate uterus. 1 daughter, born March 2012.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? Struggles - I am having a really tough time with this baby having flipped breech. He is kicking me, hard, in the bladder/cervix and it's absolutely awful. Also H is in Chicago this week and I'm single parenting and having all these OB appointments for decreased movement and trying to work full time at the same time. I am so wiped out. I am getting resentful - I'm 7, almost 8 months pregnant, and dealing with parenting on my own, doing all the unpacking/laundry/reorganizing from our weekend in Chicago (we flew back on Sunday and he stayed), doing all school pickups and drop-offs and dentist appointments, 3 meals a day for DD, etc. And all I want to do is lie down on my side so I won't get kicked but DD wants me to draw with her, play games with her, etc. I said no last night, at like 8 PM when I'd been going all day, but then she started crying so I felt guilty and did it anyway. Successes - I think I have the nursery dresser and curtains picked out, and possibly the car seat too.

    4. How is your SO handling everything? - Pretty well. Him being out of town this week is great for him but it is killing me.

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.

    - early miscarriage/CP @ 4+2 August 2016 confirmed via blood work
    - ectopic pregnancy between 5-6 weeks in September 2016 confirmed via blood work and ultrasound

    3. How are you feeling today? Struggles? Successes?

So much pain. Woke up this morning with extreme pelvic pain. I couldn't sit or lay down. Luckily I had an appointment first thing this morning. It hurt so bad I cried while I tried to lay back on the table. The doctor checked me and said no change (still 1.5cm and 50% effaced) hallelujah. I told him "don't get me wrong I'm glad nothing has changed but I'm surprised that with all the weird contractions and pressure I am having I'm surprised there isn't change" and he said "honestly I am too." Thanks that doesn't scare me at all.

    4. How is SO been handling everything?

Pretty well. He has really stepped up with all the pain I have been in. He even said he was going to skip guys night tonight and I told him unless I call and say I'm in labor he needs to go because I'm not sure how much longer he will be able to.

He joked and said as long as she waits until Saturday (32+5) it will be OK. He has one last DJ gig of the season Friday night and doesn't have a back up. With DD he said the same thing he had a gig on a Saturday, I went into active labor that Sunday and she came that Monday afternoon. I hope he doesn't have some sort of gift for seeing these life events before they happen.

    5. GTKY: What is something that you you tell yourself if you could go back to the beginning of your pregnancy?

Contractions don't feel the same with each pregnancy. I was so sure I knew since I had a baby already I know what "real" contractions feel like. The doctor proved me wrong today. He was checking me and said "did you feel that?" I said "yes." Then he said "if you have any more of those today start timing them because that was a contraction." I was like "really I thought that was just her pushing on my stomach." Ever since then I have this tightening in my back and the pelvic pressure is getting worse.

  • @MKMandeville I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for you. I hope you get some relief from contractions without going into labor. If you're feeling bad, you may want to get checked again. Did they give you anything to stop them?

My MC contractions were very different than the ones I've had this pregnancy and it worries me that I won't be able to tell if it's "real" or not when the time comes.

  • Thank you @NYTino24 they continued all day. They would stop after I changed positions for like a minute but then would start back up again and no amount of water has taken them away. They seem to  getting closer together like every 20 minutes compared to one an hour I was having but only like 15 seconds so I delayed the call. I'm going to drink one more glass of water and try to sleep through it. If they still are happening when I wake up I'm definitely calling. I don't think I can wait for them to check me again on Monday. As of now since I haven't changed they haven't given me any meds yet. Our hospital won't stop anything after 34 weeks so I'm curious if they consider me close enough to not worry about it.
  • @MKMandeville The terbutaline was a total bitch and I shook really badly, but it did work. Maybe you could ask about it if they don't offer a solution. FWIW, I think 32 weeks is still pretty early and I'd want to hold off on labor if I could.

  • Definitely @NYTino24! I actually slept through the night with the exception of several hundred bathroom breaks. I still have some pelvic pain (feels more like a bruise rather than crushed bones) and some lower back tenderness but other than that the contractions are more bearable and less frequent today. I was told I have a very irritable uterus at 26 weeks so I'm curious if when she dropped and put all the extra weight on my bladder that even the tiniest amount of fluid in my bladder is what is causing them.

I'm still going to take it easy and monitor them today.
  • 1. How far along are you today?
    31 + 2
    2. Share any part of your history you feel comfortable sharing. Natural pregnancy after 5 failed IUIs in 2011, DS born early 2012. Dx with DOR and finally pregnant with egg donor now.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?  I am ok, but definitely tired now and up more now at the night.  Also just some more uncomfortable areas-- my back, and legs. It bands, etc.  I might ask about PT but don't know how I would fit it into my schedule.    I am anxious about my MFM appointment next week-- there is a risk of heart defects due to the icsi and the baby is big, but everything has looked good so far.  I've only gained 20 pounds, no GD, anatomical scan was good, etc.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?  By expressing annoyance that things like my MFM appointment require him to adjust his schedule.  Not being too helpful and he is driving me crazy because of that.

    5. GTKY: What is something you would tell yourself if you could go back to the beginning of your pregnancy?  Get it all done now! Your spouse will not actually be helpful this time.
