Still surprisingly good, starting to get some aches and pains in my hips and pelvis and more fatigue, but nothing out of the ordinary. Movement is more regular now (feeling him at least a couple of times/day) which is super fun! I'm a STM, and didn't feel movement in my last pregnancy until closer to 21 weeks.
3 Any appointments this week/last?
Anatomy scan coming up next week! So excited to see LO again.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing this week, I'm super boring!
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School?
16 weeks, avocado (and thanks to pregnancy brain I had to look up how to spell that haha)
2) How are you feeling?
Really great! My energy is back and I can feel baby squirming around occasionally. This is the beginning of the part of pregnancy I really love.
3 Any appointments this week/last?
In six days I have my 16 week OB check-up. I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Just so happy that hurricane is over and so grateful that we're all safe, our house is fine, and our power is back on! Also, craving apple juice like crazy but I know better... catastrophic gas would await me.
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School?
I ran cross country, played violin, read a lot, and loved ceramics.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 18 weeks, artichoke
2) How are you feeling? Pretty good! Some pressure on my pubic bone which is kind of annoying, but nothing awful. Still thirsty!
3 Any appointments this week/last? Anatomy scan next week! Looking forward to it, and to being able to assign a name to LO.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Loving wearing maternity clothes. I hated it with my first pregnancy, but I didn't have to dress up for work then. Now I have to look presentable every day, and can't live in yoga pants, so am very grateful for stretchy waisted dress pants!!
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School? I was captain of the speech team (forensics), and in theater.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 19 weeks, mango
2) How are you feeling? really tired again, wtf? I think I am just not sleeping well and I am scared that this is how it will be now forever. Lots of back and hip pain as well, but feeling pretty positive overall!
3 Any appointments this week/last? quick check up yesterday, MW said cord insertion was nothing to worry about at all and does NOT mean I need a CS (which is what doc at AS mentioned), so I am happy about that.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I just really hate that at every turn, whoever I have been speaking to has been like "this could mean a c-section". I am lucky my midwife just kind of rolls her eyes and shakes her head, but it freaks me out a lot. There is obviously nothing wrong with having one, but I am very set on having a natural birth, and am terrified already that having done IVF will have an effect on my breast milk production and that with a c section I will just not be able to produce at all. I know that sounds extreme, but its one of my bigger pregnancy anxieties and I wish people would stop just answering everything with "well it just means you may have to have one" especially without knowing me at all.
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School? I did track and cross country and did theater. Lots of runners here! I also read a lot.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 19 weeks, mango
2) How are you feeling? Pretty good. Still have sore nipples and RLP. Baby has a pretty regular schedule when he's awake and I love expecting his kicks and punches.
3 Any appointments this week/last? I had my monthly on Monday and got my flu shot. I have my anatomy scan next week!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School? I was in the band, did drum line and color guard and swim team. I was basically a band geek.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks/Pomegranate
2) How are you feeling?
Pretty good, the morning sickness isn't completely gone but it's much better and I am eating more normally again. Energy is finally coming back, hallelujah.
3 Any appointments this week/last?
I have one next week, AS is 10/3
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We can't agree on a name, so that's driving me crazy but I *think* we're narrowing it down. I think it's really strange that I don't feel super pregnant this time around. Not that I don't have symptoms, but I just feel like with DS I was like hyper aware of being pregnant at all times and it was all I could think about, and this time I just don't feel that way. Maybe because I have a toddler running around and it's not my first successful pregnancy PGAL like it was with him, but it's just weird to be so much more disconnected from this pregnancy than last time. I'm excited of course, but sometimes I forget I'm pregnant.
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School?
I was a huge choir nerd and we had an extremely competitive concert choir program at my school so it was like a sport. I played volleyball for a couple years but was terrible at it, haha.

@MrsJ2410 I can't speak to the IVF and milk production since I haven't had one, but I did have a c-section with my first pregnancy. It didn't affect my milk production at all. I'm not a medical expert so can't say it never does, but hopefully it's reassuring to hear that someone did successfully BF after a c-section. We ended up switching to formula at 2 months for completely unrelated issues, but the way DD was born did not affect our BF journey.
My mother constantly told me she thought I would end up with a c-section during my last pregnancy. I have no idea why she thought that because I didn't have any complications when PG, but I really wanted a vaginal birth and it was really upsetting to hear so I understand your feelings. I finally said to her straight out, "I understand that a lot is out of my control, but you need to understand that I'm going to do whatever IS in my control to have a vaginal birth. It is very upsetting to me when you say I'm going to end up with a c-section. It would be more supportive if you help me focus on the kind of birth I want."
She stopped saying it to me after that. Maybe say something similar to people when they bring up c-sections? Sometimes people really just don't know they're being jerks.
@MrsJ2410 - milk production can be affected by a lot of things, however it should not be affected by the IVF and CS. I had an IUI and a CS with #1 and BF him until he was a year. I had a CS with #2 and BF him just as long. pregnancy in general is stressful and hopefully our experiences can help ease your mind a little.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 18 weeks. Baby is as big as a sweet potato.
2) How are you feeling?
I've had a body image thing going on for years, so to see my belly getting bigger is scaring me a little. I can't wait until I actually look pregnant...

Nothing this week or last
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Acne... go away acne. This little girl is totally gone be beautiful because she's stealing all of mine!
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School?
I was involved in the marching band, winter percussion, National Honor Society, Varsity Golf... I did so much stuff in high school.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 19 weeks. A mango!!!
2) How are you feeling? Tired, tired and tired. Plus I am craving Sprite like some kind of addict. We were in Ohio this past weekend and everything was a Pepsi products. I finally found a bottled Sprite and I was literaly drooling while DH paid for it.
3 Any appointments this week/last? I have my 20 week appointment next week.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? We officially have a secured spot at a daycare!!!!!!! I went and paid the enrollment fee today. I feel like a weight has been lifted.
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School? I was a cheerleader and played tennis.

I had to look up how to spell it when I was in that week too lol
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?18 weeks, and baby is the size of an artichoke.
2) How are you feeling? Okay in general... super tired today, and some lower back and hip soreness. Today's exhaustion has been out of the norm for me lately. I have been consistently more tired than my 'usual self', but today was a whole different level. Fingers crossed it's temporary!
3 Any appointments this week/last? Last Friday, I had my monthly appt. Baby sounded good, with a nice strong heartbeat! I got to make my anatomy scan appt for 2 weeks from now, and am both excited and anxious to know what we're having!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really a rant, rave, OR question, but I figured it can go here. I'm struggling at work because while my co-workers know I am pregnant, the parents of my students don't. I keep trying to wear looser tops, and minimize how much I see them (I teach preschool, so most parents drop off and pick up each day). I think I'm having a lot of anxiety about telling my students' parents, and I finally decided to just get it over with sooner, rather than later. I am planning to put a note in the newsletter at the end of this month and cross my fingers that it will be well received (or at least neutrally received?). I think the whole thing is making me weirdly self-conscious, so I am hoping just getting it out there will help me to stop worrying about reactions.
5) GTKY: What activities did you do in High School? I LOVED high school! I played field hockey, was a cheerleader (hey there, @chucksmom15 !), and did National Honor Society.
BTW @winnie1122 I like your name and profile pic, I'm a Pooh Bear fan too Our new baby's nursery is going to be Winnie the Pooh themed. I just found a whole bunch of Pooh Bear stuff at a thrift store in great condition and was so excited, because new stuff is waaay expensive (ugh Disney).
@lucylou214 What is your concern about telling the parents? I covered maternity leave for a teacher before I got my full time teaching position (years ago, I'm not a classroom teacher anymore). She was lower elementary school, not preschool but still young littles. The parents were very happy for her. Their concern was about who would be taking over her class after she left, so we sent home a letter when I was lined up to cover her maternity leave introducing me. We also arranged with the school for me to come co-teach with her for a couple of days before she left and let parents know they could come to the classroom before or after school on those days to meet me. It made the transition very smooth. If you're anxious about their reaction to your absence, maybe you could arrange something like that with your school when the time is closer?
@precious88 Haha thanks, I'm a huge Pooh fan, I'm in love with the classic books and illustrations. You can definitely find a lot of classic Pooh stuff at thrift stores, my SIL threw me a classic Pooh themed shower with DS and it was all stuff she either made or thrifted and it was so cute and beautiful!! I loved it. We went with a monster themed nursery for DS because I had a lot of cute stuff for that, but I considered a Pooh theme! Once our group gets the nursery thread going I'll be interested to see what you came up with for yours!!

@precious88, thanks for those suggestions! I teach preschool special education, and I guess my fear is they will be unhappy to learn that their child's first teacher is leaving mid-year. The great part, though, is that the other classroom staff members will remain the same, so it really won't be a big deal, I just need to do it!
