Pregnant after IF

SCH noted in 7w3d U/S

I got a call today from my RE after reviewing
my U/S completed in the radiology dept of our MTF (military treatment facility.)
There is a small SCH in the left side of my uterus where most of my daily cramping is.
I have a follow up ultrasound with my RE scheduled for the 18th to monitor it.

Nurse tells me to reduce my daily routine. What the heck does that mean? I have been babying this pregnancy since my IUI. I am a community social worker for a mental health agency. Irritating at times but not strenuous at the least.

Google was not my friend earlier today.

  • @prayingfor2 I'm sorry you have an SCH. I think the advice is mostly just to take it easy when you can, so if your already doing that great. They may also recommend pelvic rest. I am not a MD but my understanding is most small SCH's resolve on their own though you may have spotting/bleeding. Its usually the large ones they worry about. Oh and stay off google. GL

  • @Prayingfor2 I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I had two SCHs (one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks). The first one was small and my RE recommended pelvic rest. The second one was very large (an ultrasound tech actually thought it was another gestational sac) and I bled for a little over three weeks. Pelvic rest and increased rest/time off my feet, no specific directions given but I just rested when possible. Both of these resolved on their own with no adverse effects to my pregnancy.

Be prepared to bleed. Be prepared for it to take a while to resolve fully on the ultrasound depending on its size (my first one resolved in a couple of weeks, the second one lingered for a couple of months.

I also agree with pp--stay off google!! It really is true that SCHs almost always clear up with no issues. Fx for a good scan on the 18th!!
  • Thank you ladies. After a good nights sleep I was able to think more rationally.

The cramping has bothered me for two weeks and I have been sitting down and refocusing to relax. Then to learn the reason for the cramping was more than normal, I regretted filling up that 5 gallon jug of water and carrying it to the house during Harvey and I regretted resuming walking in the evenings and squats to keep my booty in tip top shape (at least trying, right?!?)
