Hi everyone,
I'm almost 15 weeks along and I threw out my back picking up my toddler this morning. My back instantly locked up. Thank god my husband is here to take care of our daughter because I can't move! It's really scary! Has this happened to anyone? I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions. I'm icing and I took some Tylenol. Is there anything else I could possibly do? TIA

Typically ibuprofen is better for inflammation, but pregnancy :-/ You could also call your OB for advice regarding painkillers.
Pregnant with #2:
Sorry for the novel! I'm a licensed massage therapist who used to work with PTs, so I've encountered this a lot. (Plus I have an old back injury from HS that flares up occasionally...just waiting for that to happen this pregnancy.
Find yourself a really good chiropractor, not one that is only in it for the money. Also read up on Pathways to Family Wellness:

Mirroring @crossfitbabybump , I was going to say a chiropractor as well. I have scoliosis, so saw one regularly growing up, and they are a safer bet for adjusting you quicker (though I can't testify as to seeing one whilst pregnant). I hope you feel better soon either way!
What she said but seeing one while you're pregnant is beneficial for you! As long as you're seeing one that is specialized in adjustment pregnant women. It can help ease the birth. Read this article as well, this is a dear friend of mine who talks about how yes, your birth plan matters!

DH did an adjustment on me when I was pregnant with DD because she flipped at 37 week to head up. I was going to have to have a manual version at the hospital the next day if it didn't work. Within an hour she was flipped head down.
You are more likely to have an arterial bleed from getting your hair washed in a shampoo bowl than you are getting adjusted.

Move also been seeing a PT and an Acupuncturist. It's taken a village but it's worked!
