Re: monday ticker change 9/11

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 28 weeks, eggplant

    2) How are you feeling? return of the ligment pain.. just the right side. I think I overdid it yesterday at my nephews bday party. I'm also not sleeping well anymore. Have to get up and pee a ton and can't get comfortable anymore. I hear this is all normal so overall I think I'm doing well.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?
yep, she's a little a girl and her name is Riley

    4) Any appointments this week/last? nope, next monday follow up appointment. Every 2 weeks now..things are getting really real!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? I made it to the 3rd trimester!!! Honestly I can't believe this is all happening and that my body is capable of doing all this. I didn't think I would make it this far and I'm beyond estatic to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel..hah.

    6) GTKY: We're going to mix it up a bit and each person has to ask the next a question! So the first question... what is the worst storm or natural event you've been through?
when I was about 5 we had crazy floods in 1993 and had no water for weeks. I remember my mom dumping a bucket of cold water over my head to wash off in the shower.
Question 2: What is the furthest you have traveled away from home? Where did you go and how did you like it?

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 26 weeks, tickle me Elmo

    2) How are you feeling? really tired. Still can't sleep well. Eating anything with sugar or high carbs makes me feel awful, I'm changing my diet this week because I can't function, but I'm curious how my glucose test will go. I didn't have this symptom with my first two pregnancies.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?
yes and her name is Piper

    4) Any appointments this week/last? I had a follow up u/s last week to check on the position of my placenta and it's still "low-lying." It only has migrated up .5 cm, and would need to move another 1 cm for them to allow me to deliver vaginally. I'm bummed, but I know I have some time for it to move up. I have nothing this week, but next week I have my glucose test, and then the following week I start every other week appointments with my midwife and every week appointments at the MFM for NST until they can confirm my placenta is a safe distance from my cervix. Next follow up u/s with the MFM is Oct 11.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? little girl was measuring over 2lbs at my u/s last week, I just can't believe how big these babies are getting. Just need to finish up prep :)

    6)
Question 2: What is the furthest you have traveled away from home? Where did you go and how did you like it?  I was a foreign exchange student in high school in Austria and that was awesome. In college I studied in Berlin, and then did a semester in China. So China is probably the furthest. I loved and hated it. The culture and history there is incredible. I really enjoyed traveling to the different cities and seeing how incredible the country is and how much they have preserved the the centuries. I did not do well with the food though. Some cities had some delicious things, but any cities that ate a lot of seafood, it was difficult for me.

Question 3: What is at the top of your "bucket list?" Something you haven't been able to do yet, but really want to.

    Edited: added the new question

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
28 weeks, officially* 3rd trimester!!! (*depending on who you ask, it may have started last week) Baby is the size of a tropical coconut, an eggplant, a bowling pin, or a 1lb basket of wings.

    2) How are you feeling?
Feeling good but exhausted, and I can feel my hips/lower back stiffening up every time I've been sitting for more than 10 minutes. Rocking that "pregnancy waddle" for every bathroom trip and feeling ridiculous, haha.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?
Baby boy. <3 We have the name picked out but weren't going to tell anyone.... until DH accidentally let it slip to my mom this weekend. Oh well, chances are I was going to slip soon if he didn't, I'm not mad.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Last Wednesday I had a checkup & 1-hour glucose test (I passed!!) and they gave me the RhoGAM shot & Tdap vaccination.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave for getting a toooon of stuff done around the house on Saturday thanks to my parents, they came over and helped DH cleaned the basement and move some of the office stuff down there, so now we're almost ready to put the nursery together. I'm so relieved to have gotten so much checked off my to-do list.

    6) GTKY:
Question 3: What is at the top of your "bucket list?" Something you haven't been able to do yet, but really want to.
I really want to go sky-diving, it's something I've always wanted to do and wish I had done before having kids. I also have a ton of traveling on my bucket list, including seeing the Aurora Borealis, the catacombs, the Great Wall of China, and Easter Island, to name a few. I've seen the pyramids, but I've got a lot left to go before I feel accomplished.
Question 4: What did you want to be when you grew up, and what do you actually do? If money/additional schooling wasn't a factor, what would you dream job be now?

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    27 weeks-lettuce/cauliflower!

    2) How are you feeling?
I feel so hot all the time. Heartburn is in full effect, as is RLP and SPD.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?
It's a girl! Leaning towards Alice. Pauline is still on the table.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Last week saw my OB and she's moving!!! I get to see her one more time, then I get a new doc. boo. Next week I'll get my tdap and rhogam shots.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Hating the heat waves in Northern California. No one has AC, so it is just brutal when it gets above 90. Loving DH for spending time with DD on Saturday so I could get some sewing done.

    6) GTKY:
Question 4: What did you want to be when you grew up, and what do you actually do? If money/additional schooling wasn't a factor, what would you dream job be now?
When I was little i wanted to be an EMT or be the trombone player for the Saturday Night Live band. Now, I think I'd be in my current job, but closer to home. I'm a librarian and I love it. I would like to be a doctor, too, if schooling weren't a factor.

ETA: Question 5: What was the last great book you read?

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 26 weeks Kale or Tickle Me Elmo

    2) How are you feeling? Super amount of pressure, and crazy hormones, but other than that feeling mostly normal.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?
Baby boy, Memphis Randall - So mad Jason Aldean stole my baby name.

    4) Any appointments this week/last? I have one on Thursday and then glucose on the 28th with another ultrasound.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? My husband is driving me up a wall, and finding the dresser I want is becoming very difficult, but his quilt is almost done, so hopefully I'll have pictures for next week.

    6) GTKY:
What did you want to be when you grew up, and what do you actually do? If money/additional schooling wasn't a factor, what would you dream job be now? I wanted to be a teacher than journalist.  I have a degree in Marketing/Graphic design, and I do accounting.  I wish I would've just known how much I like the accounting side of things and got my accounting degree (I still may) it would be better.

Money aside, I'd stay at home and make people things.  I really just wish I could make things for people all the time and get paid for it (or DH made enough money I could stay at home to do it)

    Question 5

What is your favorite thing about yourself? What is your worst quality?  What is one thing you'd change about yourself?

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 25 weeks, a bottle of wine or the friends box set

    2) How are you feeling? for the most part pretty good, though this kid loves to dance on my cervix/bladder

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?

    4) Any appointments this week/last? yes and yes. I had my MW appointment and old lady scan which went well but apparently they did not get all the measurements they needed on my scan so I went back in today for a follow up US. thankfully everything looks goodl.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Overall things are good. it would be nice if this kid would get off my pelvic nerves but otherwise life is good right now.

    6) GTKY: We're going to mix it up a bit and each person has to ask the next a question!
    Question 5

What is your favorite thing about yourself? What is your worst quality?  What is one thing you'd change about yourself?... MMM this is tough. I think my persistence is one of my favorite qualities. as for worst...I am terrible at keeping up with people.  I get so caught up in day to day life that I loose track of people. I'm not sure what I'd change... other than very superficially I would love to be one of those people who could eat what ever you wanted and look amazing all the time.

Question 6: What part of pregnancy do you wish your SO could experience?
Eta: @ngarciabyu  I hope that placenta keeps moving in the right direction for you.
@djd0404  have you tried a heating pad at your desk? I know that helped me last time.
@lavashiner  looks like we had a duplicate post/question so I will answer yours... for light reading I like Clive custler books they are semi spy/adventure with a bit of science mixed in. I've tried to read the harry potter sequal and her other book but I could not get into either.
@AFrye0726 good luck finding a dresser, we had a hard time finding one when I was pregnant with the twins, so I feel your pain.

  • @wabash15 A heating pad is a really good idea, I'll have to try that. (Love your question, btw!)

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?

28 weeks! 3rd Trimester! Victor is the size of an aubergine. At my ultrasound on Thursday they told me he is weighing in at 2.5lbs.

    2) How are you feeling?

My nausea has come back full force in the past couple of weeks and I have had to spend a lot of time resting with a fan running on my face to keep anything down but we are managing. There are good days and I do everything in my power to enjoy them and be productive when they happen lol. Also I think I caught a nasty cold the day I sat my glucose test which has involved coughing/sneezing hard enough to make me pee. Oh the joys of pregnancy... right, ladies? I am starting to feel the cold backing off and today I'm nausea light so I'm still in pretty good spirits.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? How are the names coming along?

Team Blue :) We are still in love with the name Victor and it has become really nice and natural to refer to him by his name.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?

2 big ones last week. Wednesday was the dreaded glucose test.... I went in and drank the little bottle of sugar doom only to find that it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I got my tdap and an ultrasound while I was waiting which made the time go a little faster only to get very suddenly very sick with only 20 minutes on the clock. They let me finish out the time and ran the blood work and luckily my numbers were low enough that they aren't making me do it again.

Thursday I had a visit with the high risk specialist and after a quick ultrasound he told me that my SCH is pretty much gone and my placenta has moved up so much that he wants to see me once more in 6 weeks just in case but if that goes well I will not be a high risk patient any more! Yay!!!!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?

I am just so over the moon with the fact that all my high risk symptoms are clearing themselves up!! And we are no longer on pelvic rest which makes DH even more over the moon lol.

Question 6: What part of pregnancy do you wish your SO could experience?

I wish he could feel the baby moving like I can. I mean he can feel it sometimes if Victor happens to be cooperative but there is just something super comforting about feeling him all the time.

Question 7: Summer is almost over and fall is almost here, what autumnal activities are you most excited for?

  • @brittabatwhite Hooray for no SCH and that your placenta has moved up! that is great news

  • @wabash15 my little baby is also dancing on my cervix!!! Such a weird feeling. I don't really remember it from my first...
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @kersey0208 @djd0404 yay for 3rd Trimester! Things are going pretty fast now and it is so exciting!

@ngarciabyu hang in there, lady! Mine was similarly placed and has moved quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. There is hope!

@lavashiner The summer struggle is real. I am soooo ready for such me fall weather. Days in that 80 and up range are just too horrid.

@afrye0726 I just love his name. I am also struggling on the dresser front. I want to use it for my changing station so I need it to be a good height for that and the perfect dresser continues to elude me.

@wabash15 Mine too! Right on the cervix and bladder all the time. And thank you! I'm super relieved.
