donor egg cycle cancelled - need advice please!

So we just attempted a fresh DE cycle with an anonymous but proven donor from ARR (she has one prior cycle which was successful).  We were doing the cycle out of state where the donor is located. We were 8 days into stims when her monitoring appointment revealed that her follicles had stopped growing and her E2 dropped.  In talking to her, the nurse was able to figure out that the donor had not taken any meds whatsoever the day before.  She "forgot" (?!??!)  They tried to salvage the cycle by bumping up her meds but it could not be saved and I got the call yesterday that the RE cancelled it.  I'm so frustrated and angry.  Husband and I are trying to decide where to go from here.  We have already invested about $10,000 into this donor that we cannot get back (the agency fee, meds, legal, medical screenings, travel for our screening appointments, etc.) That's not including the donor fee, which we would get the majority of back at this point. The agency is trying to talk me into giving this donor another shot as apparently it was an honest mistake (she was pet/house sitting and trying to balance too much, and thought she had taken them when she hadn't) and she feels terrible about it.  Doing another cycle with her would be by far the quickest and most economically feasible option.  Am I crazy for considering giving her another shot?!  I am also wondering if this is a sign that this is not meant to be and I should give it another shot with my own eggs as I am only 36 and was on the fence about using DE in the first place. We have one more IVF cycle with insurance coverage left and it can be used for either me or a donor.

    Wow, I am so sorry that happened. How someone can be so irresponsible with something so important is beyond me. I am really not sure what I would do in your situation. How many follicles did she have and was she responding optimally? I would be surprised that one day of missed meds could ruin the cycle like that. Maybe you could find a better donor if you looked, even though it will cost more? I would like to say I can only imagine how hard this is, but unfortunately I can relate since this week we were having our baseline for a donor cycle and it was discovered at baseline that our donor is pregnant after waiting 4 months for her to be available. I was, and still am, pretty upset and sad. Our clinic (FCI- we are in the Chicago area too) has been great and is working hard to secure is another donor right away. Looks like it will only cost us about $1000 in wasted legal fees, as luckily she didn't start meds yet. I wish I could give better advice but this whole thing is so hard with no right or wrong.     Diagnosis: Mild Endo, DOR (AMH of 1.5), Poor Quality Eggs/embryos, Displaced Window of Implantation (ERA Post Receptive)
    March-May 2016: 1 TI and 2 IUIs- BFN 
    June 2016- Laproscopy- found/removed mild endo and confirmed only 1 normal healthy ovary.
    August 2016- IVF #1 with Antagonist Protocol- Cancelled (2 lead follies), converted to IUI- BFN

    January 2017- New RE, IVF#3 with Estrogen Priming Antagonist Protocol, 12 eggs, 8 mature, 6 fertilized, 2 day 5 early blasts transferred (none to freeze :(), BFN
    May 2017- Sept 2017- Starting Donor Egg process! Waiting for donor to be available... and then she is pregnant at baseline :(
    Oct 2017- Donor #2: 25R, 22M,18F, 12 blasts frozen! Fresh transfer cancelled due to thin lining with fluid :(
    Nov 2017- Hysterscopy to remove polyp
    Dec 2017- DE FET #1 on 12/8 on 2 perfect blasts- BFN and devastated
    Jan-Mar 2018- ERA #1- Post receptive by 24 hours, ERA #2 RECEPTIVE with 4 days of Progesterone
    Apr 2018- DE FET cancelled for lining issues :(
    Jun 2018- DE FET #2 of two 1AA blasts- first BFP ever! Beta 10dp5dt- 378, Beta 14dp5dt- 2840, Beta 16dp5dt- 4035, beta 18dp5dt- 10916. Due on 2/20 with one baby after a vanishing twin
    Baby Born born early @ 33.5 weeks due to Pre-e
    Back for # 2!

    Oh no!  I'm so sorry.... that is super frustrating. Glad FCI is helping you out and I hope you find another donor quickly.  I'm going to call the nurse on Monday and get her thoughts on whether things were looking good up until that point because I thought that was odd too, that missing one day would cause everything to tank so quickly if she was otherwise responding well (?)

    IVF #1 -2016 March, antagonist, 5 eggs, 2 fertilized, 3DT - 8 cell and 6 cell no frag, chemical pregnancy
    IVF #2 - 2016 June, micro dose lupron, 3 eggs, 1 fertilized, 3DT 6 cell, BFN
    IVF #3 - 2016 November, estrogen priming + antagonist, 9 follicles, 3 eggs, none fertilized
    IVF #4 - 2017 March, testosterone priming + micro dose lupron, 2 eggs, none fertilized
    IVF #5 - 2017 May, A/ACP protocol, 4 follicles out of 7 seemed to get to required size, ovulated before retrieval, converted into IUI - BFN
    IVF #6 - 2017 July, A/ACP protocol, 3 follicles one stopped growing, LH rising, converted to IUI - BFN
    IVF #7 - 2017 September, antagonist, 5 follicles, 6 eggs,  3 immature, 3 injected, 1 fertilized, stopped growing day 3

    @chitown16- I hope you got some answers today! I would be the same as you, considering whether or not to give her another shot. I have to believe she feels horrible and wouldn't mess it up again.. but she obviously wasn't careful enough the first time....

    @marioana99-  o nice! Who do you see there? I see Dr. Rodgers (from the Beat Infertility podcasts) and she has been great to me. Dr. Marut did my ER and ET and I also really liked him. So far I haven't had a bad nurse or anything there, so I'm impressed for such a large clinic.

    @JamieH2000 I see Dr. Uhler because I live in Naperville, but I had Dr.Rodgers on 2 of my retrievals. Actually on one, because the second one was converted into an IUI. She was so sweet then, she looked so upset for me...
    Yeah, everybody is super nice, the only time I didn't like something was after my second (or third) retrieval the nurse was very eager to send me home, and I wasn't feeling quite well yet, still shaky and cold. But everything was fine, I just didn't like that feeling of being rushed through the door...

    @ChiTown16 How frustrating!  It's terrifying that the donors we are hiring to provide such an important service can be so irresponsible and selfish!  In this particular situation I think you need to speak to the agency and be confident she is not going to mess up again and go over some questions:
    If the meds are out of pocket for the new set the agency should be responsible for that.  
    What if it happens again?  
    Is it an option to use a different donor from the same agency?
