Right at this moment, likely my MIL for her childish behavior that she has displayed over the last six weeks. Her son is currently at sea deployed, and because of something that I said (as a joke), her blowing it out of proportion and her pride in not accept my apology, she has not bothered to even contact him. I personally think that is a poor display in parenting.

Rant/Rave: I'm 99.9% sure that I'm out for this cycle, and I'm feeling very down about it. I was also so anxious about what my temp would be this morning and potentially testing that I slept terribly last night, so that's not helping either. I'm hoping that teaching today will help cheer me up.

There are a number of candidates here, an ex-boyfriend, for being a selfish jerk, a former totally incompetent boss, or a couple of relatives with political views I strongly disagree with.

Testing: certainly not before 10 dpo but debating the merits of testing before 14 dpo. On the one hand, BFNs aren't great, but on the other, they give me a heads up about AF and if I were to get a BFP the data about when I could turn an hpt would be nice to have (TW, with my loss I was still neg at 14 dpo and only turned a test at 16 dpo so could be late implantation which is much more likely to lead to a loss, or could be hcg doesn't show up in my urine easily.)

Rant/Rave: The hurricane weakened and my parents stayed safe with no flooding to their home. So relieved! They were right in the path and I was so scared for them. My dad was being a wannabe weatherman and sent me tons of videos during the storm!
CS/Q: No chart. Positive OPK the morning of CD14, then minor cramping that night and CM dried up the next day. So I'm going with CD14 as O day. Perhaps it could have been CD15 though.

I'll go with an ex- boyfriend I had when I was 19. *TW* He was verbally and sometimes physically abusive, but I was young and just didn't know better. Wish I could go back and kick him where it hurts! In the end I don't really regret it though because it taught me to stick up for myself and be strong. *End TW*

I can't imagine not contacting your child before deployment! She could at least say something like "I'm still angry but will always love you". Is that so hard?

@offtoneverland Yes, the storm was less severe in Florida than anticipated. Really glad that your family is doing good as well. Such relief! I had an ex that was verbally abusive when I was much younger as well and often think how differently I would have handled that if it happened now. So much wisdom with our years.

@SkilledSailor That is exactly my point. You never know what can happen and I personally would never want to have any regrets. Being the parent, and since it is something I said not him, I feel she should have been the bigger person and made contact. But, that is her choice. It is ironic that she says that it is my pride that is creating this rift and nothing else.

Rant/Rave: Woke up to another stomach bug that was brought home yesterday. You'd think that me taking care of myself better would mean my immune system would strengthen, but I feel like I've had every stomach bug, cold, etc. that's gone around the past few months. I'm so over it.
On the up side, being sick means I can't be around patients, which means I'm home by myself. Commence the binge-read of random books.
CS/Q: I added in that I was sick this morning, and FF took my CHs away as a result. As if that makes sense. But okay. I haven't temped in 4 days, so there's nothing new to see. My CM still shows me O'ing between CD 10 and 12; and my temps show a shift on CD 10. So I'm either 11 or 9 DPO. Either way, I won't be testing until at least Saturday.

So today marks 8 DP IUI. DW was telling me she felt nausea that went away when she ate, which was one of my first pregnancy symptoms so I got all excited but then I was like, oh. It's only been a week. Ugh, I hate waiting but here we are.
GTKY: I'd tell off the woman in the parking lot whose car I accidentally hit by opening my car door and gave me the worst attitude possible. Look, I try not to be *that mom* who thinks she's entitled to behave however she pleases but I had a squirming toddler in my arms and I was desperate to wrangle him into his seat. Yes, I opened the door too quickly in my haste to relieve my arms and back and sanity. As soon as I realized what I'd done, I apologized and stepped back to let her pull out. She pulls out, parks behind my car, gets out to examine the "damage" to her precious 2004 Ford Taurus. She muttered "thanks for the new scratch" and sped off before I could say a word.
My car's been nicked, dinged, scratched, scraped, and the back bumper is falling off and I DON'T CARE. I have so little respect for people who care about the condition of their car to that extent, especially when it's not like it's even a luxury vehicle. I wish I could've handed her $2 and tell her to go buy herself some paint at NAPA so she can restore her car to its former glory. Bitch.

GTKY: If you could tell one person off with zero reprocussions (your choice, they could forget right after or you'd never see them again) who would it be and why? a long time 'friend' from childhood. we'll always be 'friends' but i stopped putting effort into our friendship about two years ago. she's done so many crappy things in life from cheating on with a married man, to writing in a school journal about me needing to lose weight so we could share clothes. our moms are really close and she doesn't have any siblings so i think we have a little bit of a sister relationship where i know we'll always be in eachother's lives but i don't think she's a respectful person. and she says stuff that you just should keep to yourself.

My brother -in-law, he is the absolute worst! He does a lot of mansplaining to me. He was a first year med student as I was finishing nursing school, and he would "teach" me things about medicine, like how to put eye ointment in my youngest BIL's eye (he dropped it in the center like an eye drop, that's not how you use it). TW He has no children, but he often tells me how I should be handling DS: when I should feed him, what I should feed him, when he should take a nap or go to bed. As if I am not his mother who has been keeping him alive for the last 2 years. He also tells what I would consider "tall tales" about what he has done at the hospital. After DS was born, we were at a family BBQ (thrown as a goodbye to MH before his first deployment, but some how became about my BIL), and he was saying that he had delivered (he phrased it "caught") several babies. I just wanted to turn to him and say, "really? you? a second year med student have delivered several babies? not just been in the delivery room, but actually did the "catching"? I call bullshit, because I just delivered a baby at one of the hospitals that you can do your training, and I was delivered by the attending, the residents both assisted and the second year med student stood back, observed, and asked questions." end TW But I don't say anything because it would start WWIII in the family.
@doxiemoxie212 yay for purple hair! That shade is beautiful! I currently red (naturally a blonde), and I have done hot pink streaks under the blonde, but that's as adventurous as I get. My little sister has had every color under the sun (most currently silver lilac.)
@darkstar42 sorry about the temp drop and the feeling that you are out this month (I've been feeling that too), it's a sucky feeling. I also which I could go off on a few family members for their political beliefs.

@blackhottamales I had a very similar friendship growing up. She was a very mean person at one stage. She eventually apologized and we had a conversation about it years later, but I don't think she really quite grasped the effects of her behavior. Sorry that you have to deal with that. ((hugs))

Rant/Rave: *TW* I brought my coworker who just had a baby a lasagna so I could cuddle his baby, and I absolutely loved it, I haven't been around a baby that small (4 days old) in a long time it was exciting. *TW* It's Monday and a student I have for 2 classes which means 3 hours for the day was being a little turd today mocking me like he's 5 at one point and he's usually my favorite and the best kid in the class, I don't know what is up with him so I had to write my first discipline slip this year, I was hoping I wouldn't have to write one until at least October.
CS/Q: My temps are higher because my bbt (tempdrop) is an external temperature, but I haven't had a spike this high before. I thought maybe we had the heat on last night as it was chilly but it wasn't on when I checked this morning. So perhaps I'm coming down with a sickness. I read spikes can be good around implantation, but it's too early for that. Is this something anyone else has seen a 0.4 temp spike?
My aunt that no one will ever tell off because she would just write everyone off. I love her dearly and actually chose my confirmation name after her, but she's so set in she's right on every opinion and no one will tell her differently I want to scream sometimes. I remember being in high school and this was around the time our state was looking at allowing civil unions and I was very for it because many of my friends were part are the LGBT community and she'd spout off about God and how it just isn't right and all my other family members would just agree with her and go with it because it's her. My brother struggled with his identity because of this and wasn't able to come out until he was in college and my mother told him not to because she didn't want him to be picked on or targeted. Since he's come out so has another cousin and now my aunt is perfectly okay with people who are gay, but the struggle now is people who are trans-gendered.
@doxiemoxie212 This is the color I tried having my cousin do her hair for our wedding. It turned out much brighter and MH wasn't impressed when he found out I told her to have it that color. My cousin always has fun colored hair and a mohawk, I told her to be herself but I though light purple was super pretty so she dyed it just for me!
@blackhottamales I had a friend like that in high school, once we went to college we went our separate ways I felt I shouldn't continue a friendship that was very one sided.

@jhysmath My temps tend to jump around quite a bit so I do see 0.4 spikes and drops fairly regularly. Did you take it at a different time? Use a heavier blanket? Drink last night? All sorts of reasons for spikes.

Im in a wedding this weekend and the bride has been a total zilla to the point where another bridesmaid and I have no desire to be friends with her anymore. We are friends from work and I'm so over the drama and shit. I just want to tell her im out but I feel like that is shitty to do before a wedding. So I will show up and play my part. But I really can't stand her right now. ( this is my seventh time being a bridesmaid and I have never had a bride who cared so little about her bridesmaids)
@jhysmath - I have an aunt like that, too. I'm 50/50 on whether my cousin is gay but he'll never come out because that side of the family is super religious. He's nearly 30 and never dated or had a girlfriend. I thought maybe it's because he was shy and kind of awkward as a teen but now he's an adult, a scientist at a major pharmaceutical company, and overall a nice guy. Seems like he'd be a catch. I feel sorry for him because my aunt is overbearing. She drives by his apartment to see if he's at home and even has a key to his place

@saratiff I tried so hard while I got married to make my bridesmaids happy. The only thing I told them was the color of the dress I wanted they could choose everything else. I think a lot of the time they got angry because I said they could do whatever and I didn't have a preference. I'm sorry this bride is such a pain.
@wishiwaspreggo got to love "alternative facts." MH normally tries to let anything his brother says just slide off his back, but sometimes he is pushed too far, and will speak up. It's caused a few arguments between the two of them
@SkilledSailor I'm ok, I pretty much live at a 2 pain level, so I'm able to just ignore it and avoid aggravating positions and movements.
@offtoneverland yeah, these hurricanes have thrown off his whole schedule, and I'm pretty sure he is supposed to go again Wed or Thur (if they still need them), but he says it feels nice to feel like he is really making an impact and doing good.
