Good morning!
This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.
Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update our list!

Re: 2nd Trimester Check-in 4th Sept
This baby is seriously mobile now - it's starting to squeak over into annoying at times! If thile I can generally get about 2hrs sleep in a row max.
I also realised I need to gear down again - we went for a mellow hike last week and I got a full body petechial rash (hormones causing capillary weakness?), then yesterday had an afternoon at the lake jumping in and I can barely move today. Darn
QOTW: I spent the day at home organising things and napping.

we are 26w3d. Passed the glucose test last week and no appointments till the 18th. My OB decided she does not want extra monitoring (weekly NSTs starting at 30weeks) since the MFM clinic said everything looked perfect at our echo. I have been picking up 4 hour shifts once or twice per week in the ER in addition to my FT job, but have decided it's just too much. I will have to work three more shifts, but then will be done. Definitely going to miss the extra money though
QOTW - I spent the weekend sewing bibs, cloth wipes, and a play mat since our air quality was in the hazardous zone and I wasn't allowed outside. I picked up a longer shift in the ER on Sunday morning and ended up doing nothing but napping the rest of the day. I know, so exciting!
Heres the screen door I made for our nursery, I'm still really pleased with how it turned out! (We still need to paint the nursery light gray...so ignore the awful blue wall color!)

@PoeMasque hooray for passing your glucose test. I love how the door turned out.
AFM: chugging along. I have a check up and old lady US on friday. As for the weekend I had all sorts of plans but work had others so I spent much of the weekend at work.

@PoeMasque you are so productive! The door looks awesome. Nice to hear I'm not the only one having an early start on the first trimester feelings
Mind if i rant for a moment?! I'm self employed with a company of 2 office staff/managers and 3 other employees (DH works with us). I leave for our pre-baby vacation in 10days & was feeling pretty stoked on how things were going at work... I hired my replacement a month ago and she's been doing great. I planned to get back from vacation and drop down to half days till baby-time.
I left work 30mins early today for a nap... woke up to DH gently tapping on the door to break the news that my maternity leave cover quit

@mountainlady-2 I totally hear you on the kicking keeping you up. It has not been a constant for me, but there have been a few nights where it is seriously annoying! However, I have also had days where his kicks are not as noticeable and then I get worried. Either way his movement affects my sleep.
@wabash15 I did not know that you got extra USs based on age. I am 34, but will be 35 next month, so I might have just missed that. My next appointment is next week, and I have been contemplating asking for another US. I told my doc at my last appointment that I felt very anxious about no more USs, and she said that if I get too anxious we can do one. Been trying to keep my cool because his kick counts have been great and I feel fine, but I am now and have always been a worrier.
@PoeMasque I love the screen door! That is such a clever idea!
QOTW: I worked mostly.

Appt with OB tomorrow afternoon. Thinking my time with the glucola is fast approaching. Bleh, not looking forward to it.
Had a nice long weekend, shopping on Sat, resting on Sun (I think I might have slept 18 hours that day between all the naps), fajitas on the grill on Monday!
It blows my my mind that women make up MORE than 50% of the workforce, yet aren't demanding paid leave. It's likely because we only make up 24% of senior management positions and overall 33% of companies have 0 women in senior management at all. Yet mothers, not just women, but mothers, are the breadwinner in 40% of our homes. We have to start using our power to demand change, which means we have to demand the men in our lives demand it too....no change in this country has ever happened without men backing it (sad but true....think about it ladies, black men were allowed to vote before white women were). We have to demand more of our fathers, brothers, husbands, male friends, men in general!
Ok rant over, this is a topic I am passionate about and can't understand how more women aren't infuriated over this.
