1) How far along are you? How big is baby?17 weeks, pomegranate
2) How are you feeling? Pretty good... Thirsty. ALL the time. Tired, but not nearly as bad as the first trimester. Otherwise feeling pretty normal and in the groove.
3) Any appointments this week? No, but I need to schedule the anatomy scan!!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? So, I've been feeling flutters and small movements for a couple of weeks (this is baby #2). But every few days, I get a VERY strong, sudden, and uncomfortable (not painful) sensation of movement in the same place each time (upper right quadrant, just below my ribs). It *feels* like a third trimester kick, but baby can't possibly be strong enough to make that big of an impression yet... can it?? Is there something else going on? It's very startling whenever it happens, and usually makes me jump. Based on Doppler at Dr's appts, baby likes to hang out on that side of my uterus anyway (that's where we always pick up a heartbeat).
Also, dug the Snoogle and maternity dresses out of the basement last night. SO much more comfortable both sleeping and awake now!!
5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? Hmm. Sleep a full night? Drink a beer? Run a mile without getting horribly winded. This time around I don't miss those things quite as much as I did with baby #1, though.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?18 weeks, sweet potato!
2) How are you feeling? Pretty good, also thirsty all the time, a little more winded, a little off balance. A lot of anxiety/racing thoughts.
3) Any appointments this week? Check up Monday.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I could've SWORN I felt flutters about a week or so ago, but then hadn't felt anything since, which was really worrying me. But I thought about it more and the flutters were very low, like where my bladder should be, so maybe it was more of a muscle tick (since they were also very fast). Last night laying on my side very still, I felt like I could sense movement if that makes sense, and felt it when I pressed lightly on my belly right below my belly button. Made DH press too and he felt it too, like she was rolling around. I just want to feel real movement, I am still worried constantly that something is wrong, or waiting for something bad to happen. 5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? I miss weed lol. Also wearing high waisted pants and braless things.
Pretty good. My appetite has really increased but food really doesn't interest me that much. No cravins or aversions either.
3) Any appointments this week?
Nope, my monthly checkup is next Monday
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? We are moving #2 to a new room to give the new baby his room. Every weekend I go in the room and try to clean it out and Get things moved and DH just says "okay, I'll get to it". Dude! We don't have as much time as you think we do! I know we aren't going to use the nursery right away but I really want to have #2 settled before the baby so he doesn't feel like he's getting kicked out.
5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? Drink beer. I'm not a huge drinker to begin with but its football season and I miss having a beer while I watch the games.
2) How are you feeling? Mostly well. Headaches have commenced, usually first thing in the morning but a little caffeine and Tylenol if necessary seems to do the trick. Starting to get RLP, still lots of pressure and cramping but have been able to stay fairly active so I try to keep it all in perspective.
3) Any appointments this week? Nothing until anatomy scan two weeks from now. All normal at last week's appointment.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Loving feeling baby movement, although it's still sporadic and not every day -- looking forward to more consistency!
QUESTION: How early is too early to get a flu shot? My OB's office didn't have it yet, she said I could get it at CVS if I didn't want to wait until next month's appointment. Am I being a nerd that I'm eager to get it ASAP? 5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant?
I'd love to drink a nice cold fall beer, or be able to run the paces I used to. Both entirely worth it to put on hold for this little dude
I started feeling the baby move this last week. It made it all finally feel real, so now I feel really excited. (If there are any FTM's, please don't feel like there is something wrong if you haven't felt the baby yet. STM's generally feel the baby move earlier than FTM's, and it's perfectly normal not to feel anything until later. Just wanted to mention since I see a couple others posting about feeling baby, too, and I remember being really anxious about it with my first pregnancy when it felt like everyone else was feeling their baby so much earlier than me.)
3) Any appointments this week?
Nope.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? We're getting prepared for Hurricane Irma. Trying not to get too freaked out. Waiting to see if it's actually going to be a big threat for us is the hardest part.
5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant?
WINE. Especially watching this hurricane. I just want to camp out in a bubble bath with a nice big glass of red wine.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?18 weeks. He is an artichoke this week. Anyone else feel like they are running out of fruits and vegetables and just making stuff up??
2) How are you feeling? Overall I'm good. Starting to have trouble staying asleep all night which makes work a fun adventure. Felt a flutter last week but nothing since. He is being stubborn even though I keep asking him nicely to give me a kick lol.
3) Any appointments this week? Nope.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Ready for the constant kicks. He is very active every time we have an US so I will probably be compaining about how much he is kicking me later.
5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? Sushi. A club sandwich. Oh and walking without getting winded. And being able to ride in a car for more than 20 minutes without wanting to throw up. I guess a lot but worth it for our LO.
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?17 weeks today. Baby is the size of a pomegranate!
2) How are you feeling? I keep saying that I just feel more tired than my normal self. I feel okay enough, for sure, and am thankful for that. I have noticed myself getting more winded running up and down the stairs at home, carrying stuff up from the garage, etc. One thing I'm excited for is to feel the baby! I *think* I may have felt him/her today, but it was too hard to tell. Come on, baby!
3) Any appointments this week? Yes, just a quick check-in appt. on Friday, and getting some bloodwork done, too. I think I'll also be making the appointment for our 20-week ultrasound, when we'll find out if we have a boy or girl on the way!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? 2 questions this week! 1) Thoughts on nail polish during pregnancy? I hadn't given an at-home pedicure a second thought until a coworker asked if nail polish was okay to use while pregnant (she had the best intentions, but I had no clue!) 2) STMs, any belly lotion/butter recommendations? I would love to try and prevent stretch marks if possible (which I know are not totally avoidable), but thought it was worth asking.
5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? I really never cared about sandwiches, but I've been craving a turkey wrap lately, so there's that. I don't think it's really cramping my style too much otherwise yet...
@lucylou214 Stretch marks are all genetics and the particular pregnancy, there really isn't much you can do other than try not to gain excess weight and stay hydrated... and you could still get them. However, the lotions and oils WILL help with the itchiness that accompanies your stretching skin so feel free to pile it on. So will drinking a TON of water.
And if you just need to feel like you're doing something to try and prevent the stretch marks, that's fine too. So much is out of our control that sometimes we just need to try and control something. Just don't drive yourself crazy over it. If you do get them, they do get some getting used to but they do fade over time. I used Mederma after DD's birth and that made a noticeable difference.

Thanks! I have definitely heard that there's really no preventing them, but I think you're right. Doing SOMETHING would help me to feel better about it? I have been trying to drink lots of water (and keep weight gain to a reasonable amount as much as possible) anyway, so I'll be keeping that up!
@lucylou214 I'm a STM and haven't thought twice about nail polish during pregnancy. The OB I saw for my first pregnancy was super lax about cosmetics generally, but nail polish in particular, since your nails aren't especially porous (she may be too lax for some, though, as she also okayed the occasional use of salicylic acid). In any case, look into "3-free" nail polish, which doesn't contain the 3 biggest toxins that can be found in nail polish and is considered very safe. I think most major brands (OPI, Essie) are now 3-free.

Thanks! I tend to use Essie, so it's good to know that it's likely okay, anyway! My Dr.'s office also okayed salicylic acid for like spot treating, etc).
I am using regular OPI nail polish. My doctor hasn't told me not to get manicures and pedicures.
Baby is fluttering a lot today!! I feel like someone has been tickling me all afternoon!
Stuck in the box! Anyway, thanks for the input! I THINK I may have felt it, but it's just so hard to know when you don't really have anything to base it on as a FTM!
Reporting back from my doctor's appt. today. I asked her about both nail polish and salicylic acid (I use an SA spot treatment as needed), and she said not to worry about either. She did say she would not recommend using TONS of salicylic acid, but that occasional use of a little bit is not a big deal. Just thought I'd share in case this is helpful to anyone!
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? not this week! My only rant is that this is my second pregnancy and i swear my hubby was 100000x more helpful and sympathetic with the first. I honestly think he forgets I'm pregnant let alone caring for a 19 month old and cooking another one inside at the same time!! 5) GTKY: What do you miss most that you can't do while pregnant? drinking not that I drank all the time but I miss having a beer...especially with football season starting! I think I miss it more this time around bc I got to drink for 12 months after my first baby and now it's taken away again.
