Morning everyone! I was out of town over the weekend for Labor Day, and I found it slightly strange, but mostly heartwarming, how much I missed checking in with you guys every day. It's amazing how much you can care about people you've only "met" a few weeks ago! Anyway, I thought we could start off the "beginning" of the week with a fun GTKY. So here goes. If you're married, did your wedding have a theme? If you aren't married, what theme would you pick if you had a wedding? How did you (would you) incorporate the theme? Feel free to post pictures!

We went to Key West with about 30 friends and family and got married on the beach. It was very low key and everything we wanted. We love attending big weddings, but knew we didn't want one for ourselves.

Wow it's been awhile since I've posted on the bump!

Hi there!

Eah, my wedding didn't have a theme. I'm actually a wedding photographer, and I'm so DONE with themes. Haha! If you are going to have a country barn wedding with babys breath bouquets, WHY have the guys in tux's and tails and you have the blingiest princess ball gown and tiara? (This is just one example of what I witnessed last year.)

If anything, I would have just gone with a sparkly/glam look if I were to re-do it. Not a theme, but LOTS of full flowers and greenery, sequined table cloths, etc.

We're doing a Great Gatsby theme. My bridesmaids are wearing black flapper style dresses, and we're using fans instead of flowers. I'll have pictures when the stuff comes in, but here's my wedding dress for now. (Frumpy bed head, but when you get your dress in the mail, there's no way you're not going to try it on)

We had a garden wedding. I was going for romantic, classic, whimsical. We found out we were pregnant on our second anniversary

so we were very recently, happily reliving this day.

Our theme was "let's get married!" Lol. Similar to my daughters birthday themes of "you're one," and "you're two." I try not to overthink things. If I do, I often just get stressed out.

I'm unsure of a theme exactly but I would say possibly elegant or glam.

Our theme was 50s/60s. We had a 1963 Mercury Monterrey drive us from the ceremony to the reception, had old LPs to people to sign instead of an autograph book, threw rice when we left the church (I checked with multiple vets and city ordinances to make sure the birds-exploding-from-eating-rice myth was not true and allowed!), had our flower girls wear poodle skirts and our ring bearer worse "greaser" clothes-complete with an empty pack of cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve!-to the reception, and our first dance was to Elvis's "Can't Help Falling in Love", along with a lot of other 50s/60s songs during the reception. We also had mini Coca-Cola glasses filled with candy popular in the 50s as our favors.

We didn't really have a theme. We got married six weeks after getting engaged, hahaha. No time for anything crazy. We did get married on our college campus so maybe that counts?

Our home owners insurance gave us 60 days to get married so we just kinda winged it. My parents were renovating a gorgeous house that backed up to a lake so we used it for our venue. I did everything down to the cake myself (luckily I'm crafty

Our wedding was "courthouse" themed.
We incorporated our theme by going to the courthouse on the Friday where they do a huge group of people.
My favorite memory from this was the couple that wore matching, personalized shirts saying "shake and bake".

Our theme was "A Midsummer Night's Dream". We are both musicians and actors, and it's my favorite Shakespeare play, so we had a lot of fun incorporating that into our wedding day. It was a beautiful fit for us, and an even more beautiful day!

@attorneyworkproduct, same theme here, lol! Our theme was "be outside as little as possible because it is so HOT and then come have a great party." Our ceremony was seriously 10 minutes.

My DH kept calling our theme, or never really said theme just 'I want it to be', "simply elegant". It was an early November wedding, first weekend after high school band ended for the teachers in the wedding, with red as the main color. I just nodded along for a lot of the planning lol. Pics in spoilers because mobile loading is rough

Edit to clarify that the wedding timing was for teachers, not because I was still a HS student

The wedding took place at my church but the reception was in the ballroom of the casino in town. Above picture was taken in the lobby

We didn't really have a theme. It was garden like I guess. It was outdoors and we had wildflower seeds as our favor. Earth tones. So as much as that can be a theme it was ours.

We had a Barn Wedding BBQ and we loved it! We had line dancing a live band and made heart shaped individual pies instead of cake. We had a blast!

My first wedding didn't have a theme. My fiancé and I are eloping in a park in front of a fountain (Forsyth Park in savannah). I'm glad to not have the wedding planning stress.

We didn't really have a theme, but did have some beach-y ideas incorporated. We got married at a country club, the ceremony was outside and the reception inside. It was also exactly 50 years and 1 day from the day my grandparents got married ❤

No themes but I admire those that do!!! Married in an historic one-room chapel that used to be the school as well. Pretty and inexpensive, huzzah.
