6wks and brown discharge

I am super worried since about a year and a half ago i had a miscarriage. I wiped this morning and i saw brown discharge. Last night we had intercourse could this have caused this? I don't have any bad pain just the normal twinges so I'm hopeful....is there anyone else experiencing this?

  • Same here. I'm 5w2d. I didn't have this with my last pregnancy so it's concerning. I'm sure it's nothing but it's hard to get it out of your head. So far it's been all day today when wiping.
  • @wallerm1982 how are you doing today?

  • I have had this too. I woke up yesterday and there was Bright red blood when I wiped, but it faded to brown through the day, was red again at bedtime and then a bit of brown today (sorry tmi). It was only a bit when I wiped but really scared me. I am 5+5 today and have been scheduled for an early scan on Tuesday.

trying to be a bit positive, but it's been a really awful week. On Tuesday we were told by the doctors that my mam only has weeks left because her cancer is so advanced, so then when I started bleeding Wednesday I just dissolved into tears. Finding it really hard to be positive at the moment. We are hoping to bring my mam home on Monday, so she can be with us for these last few weeks, so I'm mostly just focusing on that, and then whatever happens on Tuesday will happen.
  • @Cerisrichard I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I can't imagine how tough it is right now. I hope your scan provides some relief and good news. Thinking and praying for you!
  • @Cerisrichard So sorry you are going through some tough sh$t.  It's totally not fair to be dumped on like that.  I hope you find the support you need.

I too have brown spotting.  TW----the last two times I had this it ended in loss but my doctor doesn't seem concerned when I called and said I had the brown spotting again.  She said I might just have a sensitive cervix.  I'm on progesterone but that's not helping. I have had many people tell me that if it's brown blood then it's old, and not to worry. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me.  I would say go in and get a US if it's causing you stress. They can tell you if you are measuring right and solve a problem that might be causing the spotting.  Good luck for a positive outcome.

  • @Cerisrichard i am very sorry. Prayers for you all. Mine went away by the evening. I called and they said i could go to the ER but i had a dr appointment for blood work later that day and when I spoke with the nurse and i decided not to go in unless it continued. PRAISE THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY it stopped and i am scheduled for an early scan this coming tues due to being diabetic and miscarriage last year oh and I'm 35.
  • @wallerm1982.  Im glad to hear your news, what a relief.

@Cerisrichard.  So very sorry to hear about your mam and h&p for a positive scan.  Wishing you and your family the best.

I'm now 16 weeks and had brown spotting at 6w. In fact I seemed to have a day or so of brown spotting for awhile every time DH & I had sex. Thank goodness that went away because it was making me nervous every time we did it. I know some women have had brown spotting & it ended badly (I'm PGAL myself so I understand) but it honestly is so common in early pregnancy. I hope everything turns out good for you too!

  • @rainafire77 Thank you for saying that... I've had it off and on for four days with an episode of red mixed in Friday night, too, and it's nice to hear good outcomes in addition to the bad.  I've sort of been "abstaining" due to the whole situation so I don't think thats causing it but it's nice to known it doesn't always mean the worst.
