Anterior placenta (in front of baby and shielding feelings of movement)...anyone dealt with this in the past? I've been told it's no big deal, but as a FTM I want to feel the baby more. Sigh.
@ollydolly had it last time. It really isn't a big deal like you've heard. I started feeling my son around 24 weeks. I know it's super disappointing to not feel your baby right now. I remember being super bummed about it and then once I did feel him it never stopped and eventually I was like knock it off dude. Haha.
@ollydolly I've got it this pregnancy and didn't have it with my first. I'd been feeling the same way you are, too, because I felt DS so early last time and had to be so patient this time around. But I'm almost to 21 weeks and have started feeling a little more movement every day now. I know how hard it is to have to wait, but soon we'll all be talking about how they're keeping us up at night with their kicks and wishing for these quieter days!
I have one right now. I feel him daily usually down low, but maybe just once or twice a day. Once last week I seen kicks on the outside of my belly but that was the one and only time. When I went to my ob appt last week, she could not find the HB. that scared the shit out of me and after she found it on the ultrasound she said that's not abnormal with anterior placentas. So yeah that was fun

Y'all. This is way, way deep into TMI territory, but have you ever given head and then remembered later that everything you ingest impacts the amniotic fluid?
Like, I'm not worried or squicked out or anything like that. But I went my entire first pregnancy without ever having that thought, and now I'm like OH WAIT as this thought crossed my brain.
So Saturday I had some really bad cramps - that took about 2 hours to fade. I'm not big on using medicine so I chose to just leave it as is, but it was uncomfortable. I read online cramps at this point are either from Braxton hicks or round ligament pain. It was mostly on my left side, although my right felt it too. Any thoughts on what it could be, because I'm doubting the cramps were either one of those, but I could be wrong.
@darkrose88 it could have been gas pains. The further along you get the worse they get. I've had them stop me in my tracks, but they usually pass fairly quickly. If it doesn't pass in a few minutes sit down, put your feet up, and drink some water!
@darkrose88 my OB has me try different things for cramps before calling or being concerned. 1. Drink more water! 2. Try pooping or passing gas 3. Lie down on your left side for awhile. If none of those things work (and one or more usually do) then call!
@darkrose88 I had a really similar experience while walking to my car one afternoon -- it was legitimately painful until I got to my car and was able to sit still. Round ligament pain is the front runner on that for me, but I'd agree all around that as long as you're able to relax and it eases up, I wouldn't worry too much. And if it keeps happening, I'd call up a nurse line and ask if they recommend anything.
@darkrose88 you don't have to answer this but: have you been constipated? I had something similar Saturday night, I called the on-call OB and the first thing he asked me was when I pooped last, and it had been 2 days. He had me take some OTC stool softeners, I pooped and I'm all better. I also agree with the water intake!!
@darkrose88, for me cramping is almost always digestive related. And having been through this several times before it still makes me sit and think about it, because I never am quit sure...
@darkrose88 my two cents, I had been very constipated, and I got severe cramps on the left side AFTER I was finally able to go. Doctor said probably round ligament pain, the uterus was trying to go into the spot that my over full intestines had been and the ligaments didn't like that much. Water and lying on my side helped, but it took some time.
@Cricket99@auntieraindrop@BelhurstBride@scatteringashes@schaze@agalvarado@madcouplewithabox Thanks for all the input ladies! Sorry for the TMI - I generally don't get constipated, but gas has been an issue since I got pregnant so that could have been it. I'm terrible about drinking water, so maybe uping my water intake will help avoid those cramps in the future.

i had some pretty intense overall cramping a couple a weeks ago. I believe they were BH. Upping my water intake helped a lot.

I can barely brush my teeth without gagging, nothing is going in my mouth
Your DH should be very thankful of your efforts.
