How bad is it? I don't love it, but my husband is 100% set on it and he compromised on our first son's name.
I am pretty sure he wants to use the NN Jett, which I don't hate but also don't love.
I feel like I associate it with a certain TV show and I don't know if everyone else will or not.
Re: Jethro
NMS, but whatevs. My bigger issue with it is that it looks like your older son is Theo, and Theo and Jethro don't seem to pair well to me.
However, I'm not sure that would be a dealbreaker. I'd see how many people on here catch the reference.
I'll ask my kids for you. They're 13 and 16; closer to your child's generation. They have never seen the TV show and don't know it exists, so they won't be biased. Here are their reactions:
DD -- nope. It's bad. It sounds like a made up name.
DS -- Like "death row?" Actually, when he said this, DD chimed in and said she also immediately thought "death row."
@neverblushed oh man, I hadn't ever considered the "death row" rhyme. That's not great.

definite no
However, I still don't think it's enough to completely disqualify the name. There's something redeeming about it even with the Beverly Hillbillies connection and rhyming with death row. I feel like it's the male equivalent of "little old lady" names that are popular for girls right now like Maisie, Elsie, etc. I wouldn't make this name choice my hill to die on.
