I am disliking people even more than normal these days....don't get me wrong I am happy others are happy for me and having my baby girl but seriously people. LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Yes I stood up from my desk. I have to pee every hour and my back kills! No my water didn't break. No I don't need anything. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I don't want people texting me and literally asking me 10 plus times a day if im in labor. Sorry for my rant ladies but my true colors are about to erupt and it's not going to be pretty.
Update from maybe 3 weeks ago, they finally bought storage furniture for our classrooms today! We got a storage cabinet, drawers for our desks, and we're supposed to get a bookshelf tomorrow!
@heatherlynn321 omg I'm so happy they came to their senses. Kids can still roll around the room on their desks, but at least you have a place to store stuff.

"I'm having fruit salad for dinner. Well, it's mostly just grapes, actually. Ok all grapes. Fermented grapes. Fine, I'm having wine for dinner."
So I'm sitting at work crying bc everything in our house seems to be falling apart just a week before our LO decides to come into this world. I guess some of the problems have been on going but other things are starting to break and DH is NOT a handyman so I'm sitting here like wth am I going to do now!? Everything is so expensive! I want to run away!!

I'm so sorry! We're having the same issues here. Minor car accident, new door scheduled to be put in, a huge bill for our lawn work for an acre...it's never at the timing you need it to be.
@jessieR358 thanks! And I'm sorry your going through the same thing! I'm sure my hormones are getting the best of me but it sucks to not know what to do or where to turn anymore! Hope all works out for you!

I don't know if it's because things want to go crazy right before baby shows up or if it's because of the solar eclipse coming up but geez! First our microwave caught fire (thankfully did not damage our cabinets!) it wasn't what was cooking it was just the internals of the thing caught fire! White smoke everywhere! Then my 23 month old fell while drinking from his sippy cup (wasn't walking or running just literally was standing there and lost his balance and fell) and knocked one of his baby teeth completely out of his head root and all!!! So much blood! He's fine and the dentist said it happens a lot to kids his age but that his was the ideal scenario, (breaks my heart to see his little smile with a gap) the very next day a hawk flies through our screened in porch tearing one screen completely out and then was trapped in our porch scratching up all of the other screens and popped my sons baby pool! Uggghhhh!! Why is this all happening with baby like 2.5 weeks away???
@lap018 Oh my, that is an ordeal. I don't know why houses want to suck when the owners are pregnant. We're waiting for Home Depot to let us know when they will be installing our floors (to replace the ones that were destroyed when my AC leaked all over the first floor of my house). It's taken over a month to get this handled and I'm definitely losing my patience.
Lowes is installing a door for us and they first gave me an installation date the day before my due date. Um nope! So now it's 7 days before. All I wanted was a door to our bedroom before this baby got here!!!
Anyone planning any type of sip and see? Since this is our second we didnt have a shower. We were thinking of planning a fall themed open house sip and see about a month after the baby is here. Thoughts? My only concern would be germs.

A friend offered to throw one for us, but i declined due to the germs. My son will be bringing home enough from MDO.
Thanks that is my big fear of germs right at the beginning of flu season. We usually do one big football/fall party at our house a year. It was my husbands and Mil's idea to turn it all into one. So I feel bad saying no. Maybe I could plan it as our normal get together and let people know if they ask to meet the baby at a certain time and have MIL take the baby home (she lives 2 mins from us) for the rest of the party. Its all just close family/friends but still makes me nervous.
@cchenal07 I normally don't get my flu shot until October or the first week of November since flu has been so late the past couple of years, but my pediatrician suggested I go ahead and get it. That way some of it would pass on to the baby. I work healthcare so I'll probably get another one to protect myself again--they're only good for 4-6 months. You may want to consider that if you're worried about flu.
@cchenal07 we're thinking of doing the same, especially for our neighbours (we have really great neighbours who will all want to meet the baby). DS is in daycare, and probably brings home more germs than the whole neighbourhood combined.... DH and I will probably hold the baby and not hand him/her around for others to hold. It's too stressful for the little one anyway.
So, as of recent, my father in law has become a lot more vocal on social media about his political views, and they're the exact opposite of mine. My issue is that his social media profile picture that shows up with all of his views is a picture of my son. I really don't like the idea of my son's image being linked in any way to his political views. However, my father in law also watches my son 3 days a week for free. Is there anyway at all to bring up without starting a major fight? There's no changing his political views, we've tried to reason with him in the past and nothing changes his mind. Is it weird that this even bothers me in the first place?
@heatherlynn321 boy can I relate to this! What about making it about "internet safety" instead of politics? Say something like, now that the kids are getting older you don't want others posting pictures of them on the internet. Would he be accepting of that? This is a bridge I've yet to cross but I have been thinking about asking everyone to refrain from posting/sharing photos of my kid... too many creeps out there!
And totally not weird that this bothers you! I'm already worried about the political crap that both my own father and FIL will say around my child. I don't want their views (or even mine!) forced on my child. I plan to teach my child the facts, give him an accurate description of history and, when he's ready, exposure to the "real world"... then he can decide where he stands on his own!
@jenn622-2 I've thought about that route, but I post pictures and videos of my son all the time, so I feel like he wouldn't really buy it. But also, he never posts any of DS's pictures to Facebook, he always texts them to me so I have control over them, which is way more considerate than my mom is about privacy involving DS's pictures. It's just that his profile picture is of my son, so I'm not sure.

But you know who you are posting these pictures to. My brothers weird older GF was sharing my pictures of my son on her FB. I blocked her. I don't know who her friends are. i think internet safety is a good way to approach it.
I just have to share that my GBS came back negative!! Woohoo!!! No penicillin this time!! My dreams of possibly going med free this go around might actually work out!
My water broke. I'm freaking out right now. I had to drive myself to the ER which was fun. I saw some police at a stoplight and they gave me an escort all the way. So now I'm hoked up, started on pitocin, fluids and an antibiotic bc I hadn't got the strep test yet. I realize I should have started a new thread with this, but I guess I just need some encouragement right now bc I'm here by myself. I'm just scared and sad that I didn't even kiss DS bye before I rushed here. We're just not ready and thought we had at least a few more weeks!

Oh how exciting! You and baby will be fine! The doctors will take great care of you! Don't be scared you will be awesome momma! Sad you had to drive yourself but at least the police got you there safely!!! Good luck prayers!!
@lilpoots I feel you on this! I get induced Friday and my boss wants me to work until Thursday! Work Tuesday night, pull call all night than go back for a full 8 hour shift Wednesday! I'm like really!? Mind you I'm a mammographer/xray/and CT tech so my job is NOT easy and requires a lot of pulling on patients... men have no clue!
@iheartichi good luck!!! i wish i had some helpful words of advice but all I can say is no matter how overwhelmed and unprepared you feel right now, i'm sure it will all be fine once your baby is here.
@iheartichi take a breath. You got this! FX for a smooth delivery! While not having everything you wanted done is stressful, it will be ok. Baby won't even miss what's not finished yet. And you can always get things done after LO arrives as well.
Thank you all SOOO much for the words of encouragement!! Trust me, they really helped me feel better and more positive about everything. I'll write his birth story later, but it sure wasn't near as long as DS. For some reason he was just ready, maybe the eclipse did it?? Thanks again! Now just praying for him to grow, grow, grow.
