Work in a restaurant. I was a server for 10 yrs and people can be total a**holes. Mad because I didn't bring your 5th refill right away? Sorry I just got triple sat. Your meal took longer than your high expectations thought it would? Well it's dinner rush and we're down 2 cooks. Everyone is quick to blame the server and has no understanding of how a restaurant works.
@stargazerlily I'm sorry you're having challenges introducing new chickens! My brother keeps ducks and had that issue, but I think it was mainly because some of the males were being aggressive to the females. He ended up having to give away a couple of the males.
@glitzandglitter Back pain sucks! As I know from recent intimate experience. :P Check out Robin McKenzie's books (Treat your own back, Treat your own neck, etc.) on Amazon. He created this system of simple exercises for back, neck, and shoulder pain that actually really help. I've read the clinical research, and there is a ton of evidence for his methods. Many physical therapists are now trained to teach these exercises. I've been using the neck ones and they really help! (Also, I realize this totally reads like an infomercial. It's really not. :P)
@kiwi2628 I totally agree that travel can reduce prejudices.

gtky good question - I echo what others have said, having lived alone in China for three years, traveling/living alone (@skilledsailor ) and living in a different culture both very much recommended (@darkstar42 ). Same with the climbing a mountain (@blackhottamales ) - after many years not being able to walk unaided my first mountain was a really emotional one. And to conquer my fear of heights I completed the "working at heights" advanced course for people who work up Wind Turbines.
@stargazer1lily and @glitzandglitter - I can recommend doing both of yours together- skinny dipping at sunrise (on a nudist beach I hasten to add). @jnmiller324 I was always under the impression that STD is basically what most refer to as "maternity leave"? It can vary based on your states I believe, so your best bet is to discuss with your HR. In CA, I believe we get 6 weeks STD for vaginal and 8 week for C at 60% (I think?) pay. Then you can use FMLA after that (up to 12 weeks unpaid)
@jennycolada@jnmiller324 unless your state has that benefit, or your employer provides it at no cost, STD is essentially a type of insurance, and in my experience you would have to have it for at least a year to use if after giving birth or for pregnancy related leave (like bed rest). It is more expensive for women of childbearing age, as that's a huge use for it. They don't want people waiting and signing up after they get pregnant
@blackhottamales Your GTKY answer really speaks to me. I can't wait to live near mountains again, but for now a big hill will do.
@Stargazer1lily I hope your chickens make peace. Out of curiosity, what kind of upkeep goes into owning chickens? It seems really cool, but I doubt we'll ever have the space.
@darkstar42 Will have to check out those books on back pain as well. My back has always been unhappy, but it's been acting up more lately.
@jnmiller324 Your GTKY is spot on. You can tell a lot about people based on how they act at restaurants. Also hi CD buddy.

R/R: Sorry I've been away for a bit. I take time off during AF because there are only so many exciting new ways to complain about cramps.It's our 2 year anniversary, so we are doing all the tourist things around our city. I have a list of stuff to see before we move, so I'm really excited.
CS/Q: Not much to see yet. My temps fluctuate very little with vaginal temping though. Is that normal? I don't think my thermometer is on the fritz already, but how steady is too steady here?
GTKY: What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? A deep declutter of both our homes and our lives, not to purge possessions/activities for the sake of purging, but rather to reestablish priorities and really focus on what makes us happy. I love that cleansing feeling of no longer drowning in stuff.
@jnmiller324@JennyColada Things are similar to what @lalala2004 described where I work. We have parental leave benefits that are separate from STD, and STD is essentially an insurance that you pay for and can elect into each year at benefit selection time. So it's not necessarily that you have to sign up before conceiving, but rather whenever you have to sign up for benefits. FMLA is separate from both STD and parental leave, and can't be used until both of those are used up, as I understand it.
@_darth Definitely do check out those books! The key for me is sticking with the exercises when my back isn't hurting. I always forget and then have issues again. :P Also, you should totally visit Iceland! MH and I went there in January for our honeymoon and loved it. Your comment on decluttering really hits a chord for me as well. I'm bad at getting rid of stuff, but it's such a good feeling when I do organize and declutter. I'm overdue for a house cleaning/purge!
R/R: Woke up with a migraine, but I'm good to go now.
CS/Q: not temping currently
GTKY: I've answered this before and my answer is the same - drag show!
@glitzandglitter - I sunrises. @kiwi2628 - I agree with your GTKY. I feel like there are a lot of people who can't sympathize or understand people different from themselves and they really need that experience outside of their comfort zone to see the world differently. @_darth - Could you post your chart so we can see the lack of fluctuation? It is true that you should see less fluctuation with vaginal temping.

@blackhottamales Were you able to get an appointment set up? You definitely deserve a hair cut and to treat yourself!
@emmasemm I love how you decide to conquer your fears! So brave!

@pebbledam Yes, I think I may have even asked it before. I still love your answer! A drag show is on my bucket list of things to do. My brother and his GF love them and come to town every now and then to see them. One day I'll just ask to tag along.

YES. traveling alone, especially in a foreign country, teaches a person a lot about themself. @Stargazer1lily. How long have you had chickens? @emmasemm. Did you find RRL tea?@glitzandglitter. Sunrise @_darth. Hi glad you are back and took some days to take care of yourself. @pebbledam. I have to look at FF constantly to know CD. Did you have a good weekend? @canucklehead123. Why are you afraid of chickens?? (sorry if I missed it somewhere)
STD insurance is not mandatory in my state. However, my employer does offer it for free. My previous employer offer it for employer to buy (until they decided to be douche canoes and rip it away). FMLA protects your job. It is all unpaid. It just requires your employer to hold your job, or one of equal value, for 12 weeks. It typically only is available after 1 year of employment. The 2 times I have had STD insurance, there was a waiting period of 3 months. (so 3 month wait+9month pregnancy ideally). As someone said (@jennycolada ?)STD typically pays 60% of you salary for 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery AFTER a 2 week wait period (so post partum weeks 2-8 would be covered) and 8weeks for c@lalala2004 However, my previous plan allowed me to choose the %, and then was prorated by price.
@jrm_14 nope to the RRL - pharmacy said I could order it through them, but put it through Amazon prime instead.

@glitzandglitter and @canucklehead123 we have to wait for Monday for GoT due to time difference:-(
@jnmiller324 echo what you said, I always try to treat restaurant staff well as I know when you're busy it's a tough job made tougher by some awkward customers. I also think it teaches a really good work ethic and team work, multi tasking etc

@ everyone who travels: Is it weird that I aspire to be as brave as you one day? Ireland, Iceland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic are on top of my social anxiety goals list.

@glitzandglitter - I
@kiwi2628 - I agree with your GTKY. I feel like there are a lot of people who can't sympathize or understand people different from themselves and they really need that experience outside of their comfort zone to see the world differently.
@_darth - Could you post your chart so we can see the lack of fluctuation? It is true that you should see less fluctuation with vaginal temping.

@Stargazer1lily I hope your chickens work things out! No fun being a referee.
@kiwi2628 I completely agree with your GTKY! It really does open one's eyes and see new perspectives.
@canucklehead123 How was your climb?
@jnmiller324 Ooh that's a good GTKY answer. I agree, it really does help to have that knowledge! I've been working on teaching H that for years.
@blackhottamales Were you able to get an appointment set up? You definitely deserve a hair cut and to treat yourself!
@emmasemm I love how you decide to conquer your fears! So brave!
@_darth Love the sound of tourist days in your own city. Did you see a lot today? I also agree with your GTKY. I feel like a lot of people find peace after a deep declutter.
@pebbledam Yes, I think I may have even asked it before. I still love your answer! A drag show is on my bucket list of things to do. My brother and his GF love them and come to town every now and then to see them. One day I'll just ask to tag along.
@SkilledSailoryes Yes for Tuesday night! I'm really excited.
@pebbledam oh need to add Drag show to my list of things to do now!
@jnmiller324. Yes! I learned a lot of life lessons as a server.
@darkstar42. Waking up to kitten snuggles is the best!
@SkilledSailor. YES. traveling alone, especially in a foreign country, teaches a person a lot about themself.
@Stargazer1lily. How long have you had chickens?
@emmasemm. Did you find RRL tea?@glitzandglitter. Sunrise
@_darth. Hi
@pebbledam. I have to look at FF constantly to know CD. Did you have a good weekend?
@canucklehead123. Why are you afraid of chickens?? (sorry if I missed it somewhere)
@jnmiller324. @lalala2004

The 2 times I have had STD insurance, there was a waiting period of 3 months. (so 3 month wait+9month pregnancy ideally).
As someone said (@jennycolada ?)STD typically pays 60% of you salary for 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery AFTER a 2 week wait period (so post partum weeks 2-8 would be covered) and 8weeks for c@lalala2004
However, my previous plan allowed me to choose the %, and then was prorated by price.
