  • @SkilledSailor I live your GTKY. I did that around Germany when I was 22 and it was incredible. Yes--we'll resolve the fight--since it was really both of us being rude to each other there isn't anything to resolve. But I might try to bribe him with brunch because I'm eating for two--me and my AF.
@Stargazer1lily yes to skinny dipping too!
  • @glitzandglitter I`m not sure how it works either,I`ve had the older chickens a year now so this is the first time I`m introducing new birds to the flock.
  • @darkstar42 - thank you for the suggestions I will definitely check those out. When does your school year start?
  • @canucklehead123 oh, have so much fun, no mountains where i live now so i'm jealous!!
@darkstar42 Thank you.  Hubby woke up and doesn't remember the fight, he may have had a little too much to drink on the boat yesterday.  I'm actually trying to get into a nice salon and get a hair cut.  I told myself awhile back i wouldn't cut my hair until i was pregnant or lost 20 lbs.  well, i lost 13 and it's been almost 18 months and my hair is nasty...so i'm looking for a fresh cut to start out this cycle!  and it's beautiful out so really i should be happy.   glad you had wonderful kitty snuggles this am.  fx you can have some extra fun before school sets in.
  • @blackhottamales Sounds like you definitely deserve a nice hair cut! 13 pounds lost is impressive. I hope you're able to get an appointment today!

@jnmiller324 I was always under the impression that STD is basically what most refer to as "maternity leave"? It can vary based on your states I believe, so your best bet is to discuss with your HR. In CA, I believe we get 6 weeks STD for vaginal and 8 week for C at 60% (I think?) pay. Then you can use FMLA after that (up to 12 weeks unpaid)
  • @jennycolada @jnmiller324 unless your state has that benefit, or your employer provides it at no cost, STD is essentially a type of insurance, and in my experience you would have to have it for at least a year to use if after giving birth or for pregnancy related leave (like bed rest). It is more expensive for women of childbearing age, as that's a huge use for it. They don't want people waiting and signing up after they get pregnant

  • @jnmiller324 @JennyColada Things are similar to what @lalala2004 described where I work. We have parental leave benefits that are separate from STD, and STD is essentially an insurance that you pay for and can elect into each year at benefit selection time. So it's not necessarily that you have to sign up before conceiving, but rather whenever you have to sign up for benefits. FMLA is separate from both STD and parental leave, and can't be used until both of those are used up, as I understand it.

@_darth Definitely do check out those books! The key for me is sticking with the exercises when my back isn't hurting. I always forget and then have issues again. :P Also, you should totally visit Iceland! MH and I went there in January for our honeymoon and loved it. Your comment on decluttering really hits a chord for me as well. I'm bad at getting rid of stuff, but it's such a good feeling when I do organize and declutter. I'm overdue for a house cleaning/purge!
  • @_darth We let our chickens run free most of the time so other then cleaning their coup once an awhile there is not much upkeep.
  • @glitzandglitter How's your back feeling now?

@Stargazer1lily I hope your chickens work things out! No fun being a referee.

@kiwi2628 I completely agree with your GTKY! It really does open one's eyes and see new perspectives.

    @canucklehead123 How was your climb?

@jnmiller324 Ooh that's a good GTKY answer. I agree, it really does help to have that knowledge! I've been working on teaching H that for years.

@blackhottamales  Were you able to get an appointment set up? You definitely deserve a hair cut and to treat yourself!

@emmasemm  I love how you decide to conquer your fears! So brave!

@_darth  Love the sound of tourist days in your own city. Did you see a lot today? I also agree with your GTKY. I feel like a lot of people find peace after a deep declutter.

@pebbledam  Yes, I think I may have even asked it before. I still love your answer! A drag show is on my bucket list of things to do. My brother and his GF love them and come to town every now and then to see them. One day I'll just ask to tag along.

  • @_darth I'm glad you liked the hiking inspiration
@SkilledSailoryes Yes for Tuesday night! I'm really excited.
@pebbledam oh need to add Drag show to my list of things to do now!
  • @blackhottamales. *internet stranger hugs*  I love @darkstar42 's suggestion for self-care. You can't pour from an empty cup.
@jnmiller324. Yes!  I learned a lot of life lessons as a server.
@darkstar42.  Waking up to kitten snuggles is the best!
@SkilledSailor. YES. traveling alone, especially in a foreign country, teaches a person a lot about themself.
@Stargazer1lily. How long have you had chickens?
@emmasemm. Did you find RRL tea?@glitzandglitter. Sunrise  <3
@_darth. Hi :)  glad you are back and took some days to take care of yourself.
@pebbledam.  I have to look at FF constantly to know CD.  Did you have a good weekend?
@canucklehead123.  Why are you afraid of chickens?? (sorry if I missed it somewhere)

STD insurance is not mandatory in my state.  However, my employer does offer it for free.  My previous employer offer it for employer to buy (until they decided to be douche canoes and rip it away).  FMLA protects your job.  It is all unpaid. It just requires your employer to hold your job, or one of equal value, for 12 weeks.  It typically only is available after 1 year of employment.
The 2 times I have had STD insurance, there was a waiting period of 3 months.  (so 3 month wait+9month pregnancy ideally).
As someone said (@jennycolada ?)STD typically pays 60% of you salary for 6 weeks for a vaginal delivery AFTER a 2 week wait period (so post partum weeks 2-8 would be covered) and 8weeks for c@lalala2004
However, my previous plan allowed me to choose the %, and then was prorated by price.

  • @jrm_14 I`ve had them over a year now.
  • @jrm_14 it's a total irrational phobia - I'm scared of most birds lol

  • @jrm_14 nope to the RRL - pharmacy said I could order it through them, but put it through Amazon prime instead.

  • @skilledSailor - It is feeling a little better today. Thank you for thinking of me :)
  • @darkstar42 no rise in temps - I was just convinced day 18 was going to be my day!! lol but alas... still waiting on the temps but all other symptoms looking promising.  I also wonder if I should experiment with OPK's later in the day instead of FMU (saw something mentioned in a different thread about this)...
