    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
21 Weeks!  Babies are the size of a baby bok choy. Yum!

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Well now I'm craving baby bok choy lol. I'm feeling ok. Heartburn and acid reflux are happening, I've got restless leg syndrome that's waking me up at night, and I'm getting some cystic acne. It's a real party over here.  I'm craving EVERYTHING. Just give me all the things.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
The babies are girls :) identical twin girls. So cute. We've got a few names, but the ones that are in the top spots are Penelope Hazel and Abigail Olivia. This could totally change, though. I'm wondering if they're TOO girly, so I'm not committing yet.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
We had a 2 hour 20 week anatomy scan Wednesday. The girls look great, which is such a relief. My next ultrasound isn't until the 29th, which is the longest I've gone without one this whole pregnancy.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My husband is going to a conference today until Wednesday or Thursday and I'm really going to miss him. Usually I love it when he goes out of town, but during this pregnancy, I HATE being away from him. This is going to be so boring.  Maybe I'll try to get some packing done or something.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I really think it would be something like the Real Housewives of New York. It's always entertaining.  Or The Sopranos, because I can watch that show over and over and still love it.

@breezybee yay for a great anatomy scan! Love the names. Abby and Penny are great nn's and not so girly IMO- so the girls can have a choice on which they prefer to go by!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?  24 weeks, eggplant

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? I am feeling large haha. All of a sudden walking more than a couple of blocks is exhausting and feels heavy- might be a combo of the heat and jet lag. Not really craving anything but loving peaches lately!

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
Yup he's a boy. We've decided on a name but DH has sworn me to secrecy (I think it's also a Jewish tradition to keep it under wraps until baby is born).

    4) Any appointments this week/last? I had a routine appointment with the 1 hr glucose test yesterday (results tbd) and a non-routine ER visit on Wednesday because of some spotting during vacation in Maui. It was dramatic because of the timing of our flight home, but all checked out fine and we made it home on schedule!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? DH seems to have gotten the nesting bug before I have, and his productivity is making me feel lazy haha. Also I have to help with things but I just want to lie down! Edited to add another rant: doctor told me to be mindful of what I eat in the next month because I've gained weight faster than normal in the past two months (15 lbs, for a total of 20 lbs total). I guess this means less French fries and more carrot sticks for me.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be? Friends- I can watch it on repeat forever and ever.
  • hey saturday moms! <3

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
21 weeks 0 size of an endive whatever that means LOL

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
feeling tired with the 80 hr work week. not really craving anything. wishing i didnt have as bad carpal tunnel or swelling of the hands and feet. gas is horrible. i feel like i look like im 40 weeks and its all just gas.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
female we found out at like 14 weeks with the genetic testing. we have a name but still superstitious to call it because of PGAL

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
anatomy scan and 2nd prenatal visit on monday

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
a little nervous raising a biracial child after charlottesville

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
probably democracy now even tho its annoying how they do the headlines and then repeat the exact same thing again
  • @breezybee - im with you honeychile i miss hubby so much and wanna be close to him. i moved about a month ago. i remember you are my due date twin but with twins LOL .. yay three girls for us! those are cute names with easy nick names like @blueskies17  said .. wow a 2 hr anatomy scan! thats awesome! glad everything is checking out!

@blueskies17 - omg the swelling and the exhaustion! i hear you. i thought this was supposed to be our golden trimester LOL. makes me worry about third trimester bc im still tired maybe not as tired as first trimester but still tired. im probably going to get the same lecture re: weight gain! hope maui was amazing!! never been to hawaii

  • @breezybee - My husband has been out of town since Wednesday.  I thought it would be tough, but it has actually been great!  I just do what I want and get a lot done and then watch trashy tv and sleep diagonally in my bed!

@blueskies17 - I've been losing my breath from doing simple things & the other day I discovered that it was almost impossible for me to dive to the bottom of the pool's deep end to retrieve a toy.  Usually, I can do four toys in a row no sweat.  Ugh.  Lung capacity.

jackiesmom324  I hope that swelling goes down for you soon.  No fun.  And America's Nazi problem is a true nightmare. I keep hoping that this is the last gasp of a dying ideology.

    1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
    24 weeks, eggplant

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Still battling nausea throughout the day, but today was a good day.   On Friday, I was craving pizza from Curry on Crust (Indian flavors and ingredients, but on pizza).  This restaurant is 45 minutes away and I usually only go if I'm doing an Ikea run, since they are near each other.  I decided to go and get the Ikea bins and organizers I want for the nursery & my Chicken Tikka Pizza. Win-win.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
#teamgreen, we have a list of names.  Favorite for a girl is Cosima (DH just got on board with this.)  My favorite for a boy is Taliesen.  We'll see if I can slow play DH into that.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
We had a check-up at the OB this week and everything was good.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?

    • Anyone else have dry feet?  I have been needing to SLATHER them with lotion and then put cotton socks on in order to get any relief.  So bizarre. It's usually only like this in the DEAD of winter.  And we haven't needed our AC, or I'd blame that!
    • Nesting seems to have kicked in.  Today I washed and sorted and put away all the newborn-sized clothes we've been given & cleaned out my own closet & set up our diaper-changing area in the laundry room.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh, tough.  Maybe Doctor Who since I am a big fan and there's so much of it.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?  22 weeks - corn on the cob

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Starting to really feel pregnant. Belly is getting in the way a bit and I feel baby a lot

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
It's a boy! We have a list of 5-6 but won't commit until he's born. I want to see him first!

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
No, my next is the 30th.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave- our house closes on Monday!! Finally!! We've been at my moms since June cuz we sold our condo. So ready to get out of here and start building a home for this kid!

Rant- the timing means we will be moving right when I need to go back to school and start putting together my classroom. Ugh. I hate moving and getting my classroom ready is so much work!!!

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Maybe Game of Thrones! It's already so different from when it started I think they could keep it fresh with different characters

    -- It's a BOY! ---

  • @breezybee - heartburn - I'm there too. Ouch.

@blueskies17 - weight is so frustrating. I'm at 25 weeks and 25 pounds gained. The OB said just be watching my diet, but it makes me nervous for afterward and I'm trying to make some changes now. I'm just SO hungry!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    25 weeks and cauliflower

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
I'm mostly doing pretty well, although I've been really tired this past week. I've had some sporadic but painful heartburn and I think dessert sounds amazing, but no legitimate cravings per se.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
It's a boy, and we've got some front-runners for names, but we'll decide when we see him. Middle name will be Louis after DH and for first name we're leaning towards either Galen or James.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Had a check-up where baby kicked the doctor and I confirmed that I'm gaining too much weight. Gestational diabetes screening is next time. Hopefully I get my Rhogam then too, but they didn't mention that.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We have drywall in our kitchen now! It looks more like it's going the right direction! But my husband hurt himself trying too hard to beat a kitchen deadline getting things ready for drywall and ended up in the ER. I'm hoping he recovers quickly because ultimately he's more important to me, but dang it I really need a kitchen again! I hope it doesn't impede our progress too much.  Also my sister works in a NICU and we had a chat about how it's exciting that baby is now viable!
    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I'd have to say probably M*A*S*H. It's a classic. Hard to pick just one, though.
  • @jackiesmom324 sorry you're dealing with all of those uncomfortable symptoms! Second tri was only golden for about 2 weeks. I'm already back to peeing every hour. :D

@Amber_Waves I'm jealous that you've gotten so much baby stuff done! I hear you on the shortness of breath in water.. in Maui I tried to go snorkeling (which I've done in the past with no problems) and it felt like I couldn't get enough oxygen with my mouth alone, so no snorkeling for me.

@rebeckyjoy it's so hard having to think about what to eat for every meal! For now I've been eating fruit and veggies whenever I crave a snack. Hopefully that (and less French fries :( ) does the trick for this coming month! On the bright side, this was the motivation I needed to eat healthier in general.

@breezybee I think those names are really cute and not too girly.
@blueskies17 I'm feeling like a bad Jew right now for not knowing we don't generally share names before the birth lol, but I googled it and you're right! I'm holding off on having a baby shower because of Jewish superstition/tradition, but I have shared the names with some people and here on the Bump.
@jackiesmom324 You had an 80 HOUR work week?!! How are you even conscious right now?! I'm impressed!
@Amber_Waves That Curry on Crust place sounds awesome. I'm jealous!
@moonlady-2 I'm also at 22 weeks and just started really feeling them a lot this week too! It's exciting!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    22+1, di/di twins, guinea pigs!
    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Pregnancy wise, not too bad, except my back hurts sometimes. I cannot shake this awful cough though! No real cravings. I'm generally always happy to eat though lol.
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
We're having a boy and a girl :) The girl is Elliana Sophia Michelle and the boy is Evan Steven Michel. We gave them matching initials and matching second middle names that are French because these babies were conceived in Paris and Mont Saint Michel was my favorite place we visited on that trip.
    4) Any appointments this week/last?
I have a follow up ultrasound with the MFM tomorrow. It won't be as long as the initial anatomy scan, but I'm still looking forward to seeing them!
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: We just had to move locations at work. I went from a nice new building with a big window next to my desk to this old disgusting building with no natural light in view. I'm also pretty sure that the mold and poor air quality in this new location has only made my cough worse. Oh, and every person who works there has warned me not to drink the water there so I've been having to pay for bottled water until I can join a water cooler club. It just sucks.
    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hmmm... maybe Grey's Anatomy. It's not my favorite show, but there's so many episodes and I like the characters.
  • @breezybee It must be hard having DH be out of town. I will be in the same situation for 2 weeks next month. However, I am looking forward to having the whole bed to myself and not having to wake him up every hour when I need to pee.

@jackiesmom324 Charlotteville worries me too. We are a mix race couple so I feel nervous too.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 22 weeks. Coconut

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? It seems like the tiredness has come back last week. Hope it is just temporary since I have a lot to do to prepare for the baby.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
Boy. We have not picked out a name.

    4) Any appointments this week/last? No. The last appointment was meh. The doctor told me I can't travel due to previa which put a damper on my mood. Im looking at local things I can do for a baby moon.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? I am excited to see the eclipse. We can't travel to Oregon but we should be able to get a pretty good experience from Seattle.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be? Cosmos.

  • @blueskies17 ugh, being mindful of what you eat takes all the fun out of being pregnant lol
@jackiesmom324 sorry you're still having so much swelling!  Is there anything you can take to make it go down?
@Amber_Waves That pizza sounds fucking amazing and I need it in my life. I ordered Indian last night and OMG it was the best thing ever. Yeah, usually I love it when he's gone, but I just have no motivation to do anything. Whatever. Last night I slept soooooo great without his snoring right in my face and I watched just the shittiest tv ever. So it has its pros and cons :)
@moonlady-2 Girl, you should get a medal
living with your mother since June. Your husband should too. I would lose my mind!  Yay for the house finally closing!  Now you can move in and get settled - that's going to be such a relief!
@rebeckyjoy Wow I hope your husband gets better soon!  I can't believe you're letting him do the remodel himself!  My husband tries to convince me to do home improvement projects on his own, and he never does them up to the standards they should be (that sounds mean, but seriously, he does a really sloppy job and then is over the project and moves on to something else), and then gets all pissed when I need him to fix stuff. At least with our contractors, I can tell them to fix something and they don't take it personally lol. You're a rock star.
@leilagphillips I love how your baby names have such a great meaning behind them. Great story :)
@yodalsgreen Sorry you can't travel. At least you're in a great area - Seattle was my
home for about 4 years in college. I love it there soooooo much!

    Happy Sunday!
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 23 weeks.  So the side of a grapefruit or a barbie!

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Overall not too bad.  Backaches sometime.  Heartburn sometimes.  Starting to feel "bigger".  But luckily none of the symptoms have been too consistent.  I really can't complain lately.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
It's a girl.  We have a short list of names, but I don't know that we'll make a final decision until she's born.

    4) Any appointments this week/last? Nope.  Not until the 30th.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rant - we drove back from my parent's house today and traffic was terrible.
Rave - a friend from home gave me a bunch of toys for the baby, since she's done having kids and hers are a bit older.  They are in great shape, and so I'm excited to get some fun stuff for the baby.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hmmm... probably West Wing?

@breezybee - I love that they are identical girls!  So cute!
@Blueskies17 - Friends is a good one!  Sorry that you need to trade in your french fries for carrots
@Amber_Waves - indian pizza?  What an interesting combo!
@moonlady-2 - Good luck with closing!

  • @breezybee I have to brag on my husband a little bit - he's seriously a perfectionist and knows what he's doing with construction. Prior to this incident he was planning for this whole thing to be done in about 9-10 weeks. Sometimes he's frustrating to work with, though, because he can be almost as demanding with me as he is with himself.
  • As usually I'm late to the party...

@rebeckyjoy  I am dreading the G/D test, last time I had to do the 3 hour which was horrible. When I had the Rhogam shot, I had to go to the hospital, they didn't give them at the Obs office, does your office do it different?

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 22 wks, Guinea Pig.
    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings? Pretty good, but I tire easy. I drank pickle juice the other day...
    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name? We're having a boy, James which is my husband's name, MN is my maiden name.
    4) Any appointments this week/last? Last week I went in early, I was supposed to have my regular appointment this morning, but I kept complaining to DH that my crotch/pelvis was hurting and I think he got annoyed with me and told me to call. Turns out I was right, and it's just apart of being pregnant and my body moving and stretching to fit baby's head. I wish I could just say "Hey Pelvis, it's OK buddy, we're having a RCS."
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? Not pregnancy related, but this weekend is our fish fry and I'm so excited, especially since everything I'm making I can prep the  night before!!
    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE TV show for the rest of your life, what would it be? Oh dear, that's a tough one, something that has to have a long running series or else that'd be a horrible choice. Law and Order!

  • @breezybee I'm somewhat clingy all the time, but especially during this pregnancy. My SO went out of town for 2 days and I hated it LOL. I just want to cuddle and have him tub my belly.

@blueskies17 Good luck with your GD test and I'm glad everything went well with your trip.

@jackiesmom324 Another big ups to you for working 80 hours! I can barely do my 40. Charlottesville worries me too. I keep telling myself that there are more of us, meaning people who are not racist, than there are of them.

@Amber_Waves I may need to try Curry on Crust probably after I have the babies. I can't handle spicy foods right now. I had Indian food the other day and should have ordered mild instead of medium.

    @moonlady-2 Congrats on the house!

@rebeckyjoy I hope your husband feels better soon. My SO is pretty handy too. That's such a turn on.

@leilagphillips Good luck with your scan today!

@YodaIsGreen I had a burst of energy, but am now tired all the time again.

@Tennis11785 I definitely feel bigger now.

@Kirss Have fun at the fish fry! Fried fish sounds so good. I may need to get some today LOL.

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
23+2, babies are the size of grapefruits

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
I'm tired all the time now and of course heartburn sucks. I don't have any particular cravings, but I have definitely been eating more.

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
We're having a boy and a girl. We have some names in mind.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Le sigh. I'm late posting because I kind of don't want to put negative energy/thoughts out there. I usually try to keep a positive mind and I'm really trying, but it's so hard. We had our fetal echocardiogram on Friday, but due to babies positions and movements, we'll have to go back. However, they noted a few items of concern. Baby girl has always measured smaller than baby boy (she is 14 oz and always curled up so I wonder how accurate the measurements are, and he is 1 lb. 4 oz), but per The Bump, she is still within range for 23 weeks. Baby girl has velamentous cord insertion which means her cord doesn't properly connect to the placenta. She's obviously still growing and getting nutrients, but this could explain her small size. The doctor didn't seem too worried, but wants to keep an eye on it. I will need to have a CS because the cord could rupture during labor. Baby girl also has a right aortic arch. This could be just the way hers will be and not cause issues or it could indicate structural or genetic issues. He said we may want to get an amniocentesis. However, they will know more once they are able to get better pics/measurements of her heart. I'm definitely not scheduling an amniocentesis until they get the other measurements, plus I need to know what can be done with the results. I've Googled and if there are issues, it's usually fatal, but there is about a 30% chance that nothing is wrong. I'm trying to stay positive and believe that she's just small and it's hard to measure accurately right now and even having the right aortic arch could be harmless, but it's very hard and still just putting me in a funk.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Rant: See above.
Rave: Despite getting test results I wasn't expecting, baby girl has been moving and kicking so much that it is making me feel that her heart is going to be just fine.
Questions: None right now, just trying to stay positive.

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This is hard and would be very boring LOL. I'm really not sure. I love Game of Thrones, but I think everything would get boring after a while.
  • @clovelyone Definitely, the more the merrier! It works out pretty great. DH loves fishing, but I won't really cook it because DD is allergic to white fish, so everything he catches, walleye and perch, and I hate cooking 2 meals.
Also sending positive vibes your way, that's stressful! <3

  • Hey Saturday mamas!

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    24 weeks- canteloupe

    2) How are you feeling? Any cravings?
Feeling ok, still having pelvic and hip pain, and trying to take it easy.
No specific cravings, but I am hungry all the time!

    3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you picked out a name?
Nope, and we're still working on it.

    4) Any appointments this week/last?
Not until 9/6, and they'll give me the order for the glucose test then.  I feel like I'm going to be taking it late, but I called the office to check and they said it'll be fine.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I really want this RLP to get better.  I ordered a support belt this week, and will see if that helps.  Ouch. :(

    6) GTKY:  If you could only watch ONE tv show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
