TTGP Grad Check-In 8/10

How's it going this week TTGP grads?

Poll: Should we do a structured check-in or a casual check-in? I think the March BMB went with causal and BMBs before that have been more structured.

Re: TTGP Grad Check-In 8/10

  • @justkeepswimming8 great minds! I was thinking about a grad check-in while I was tossing and turning last night. My vote is for casual check-in, I really enjoy how March does it and think it works well, but whatever the group decides is fine with me.

@justkeepswimming8 I'm fine with a casual check in since there are already structured check ins for a lot of other things. But I'm also happy to go along with the majority wants!

Things are going just fine other than being SUPER cranky today. I'm hoping this crankiness passes before the board meeting that I have to go to this afternoon ... I'm also going to have to warn DH lol.
  • @justkeepswimming8 So glad you started this! I didn't want to start two this morning, so I was hoping someone else would :) As for structure, either way is fine with me.

  • I'm so glad you started this, @justkeepswimming8! I'm good with a casual check-in but if others want more structure I'm good with that too.
  • Do you mind if I join you, ladies? I participated on the TTGP for a couple of months, but I understand if I wasn't there long enough to join this thread.
  • @ChloandCoco as far as I'm concerned you're more than welcome!
  • Thanks, @kmalls!

AFM, I'm good with a casual or structured check-in. I just like keeping in touch with all of you!
  • Thanks for your input ladies. We can stick with casual for now and change later if we want to.

@chloandcoco - I have no problem with you joining us!

AFM, usually on Thursdays I spend time with DH's family (his parents, sister, and nephew) in the afternoon. Today I've been nauseous and gagging (but not puking) all morning. We haven't told anyone yet so this should be interesting... I can't wait to tell them a week from Saturday! I'm glad that my nausea is back though, I've been feeling too normal for my liking.

  • I was just thinking about wanting to have this thread.  I'm good with casual or structured.  There is so much going on within the board this will be perfect to catch up with all of you.
@ChloandCoco  I recognize you.  I have no issue with you participating.

I think I've been feeling a little nauseated but I'm not sure it it's pregnancy related or just food I've been eating.
  • @ChloandCoco I think you're quite welcome! I was also only on TTGP for a few months :)

  • I'm planning to join in here too if that's cool  :)
  • Hey all! this is fine by me. I caved and ordered a pair of work maternity pants because none of my pants fit. I mean let's be honest though they were getting tight before I got my BFP lol. I was SUPER nauseated today which is new for me. Haven't really had any MS so far. Bagel helped so it looks like I will be a carb monster from here on out!

I wish I would have bought maternity pants a long time ago. Like before my BFP... lol
  • @saralee797-2 I'll probably break out my maternity pants around 6 weeks, there's no point in being uncomfortable.
  • Haha the blump is in full effect. I haven't really been able to work out either so that is not helping anyway. I just figured why fight it?

  • Add me to the needing maternity pants already. Ugh so uncomfortable in anything but sweats

  • FFThC: I've been continuously pregnant/postpartum since May 2014. Maternity pants are the only pants I own :#

I've actually been having a really hard time emotionally, lately. I know we're not supposed to blame pregnancy hormones for anything, but I experience a marked difference in my mood when I'm pregnant. I'm not quite sure how to describe it other than everything seems so much more overwhelming. Like, one of my dogs has been sick for a few weeks and the vet hasn't been able to figure out what's going on. Normally I'd take this in stride, but today it's been the end of the world. And I KNOW it's hormones but I still can't stop myself from feeling this way. It's so freaking frustrating.

I think it's stupid when people say you can't say pregnancy hormones are responsible for mood changes. It's an actual scientific fact that hormones in general do changes human mood balance. While I don't think it's fair to use as an excuse to just be mean to people. Saying that a pregnant hormones should be kept in check is equally as stupid because we don't have control.

Hormones absolutely DO change your mood. I hope no one here is a Scientologist because I'm not having any of that nonsense.

@kmalls don't be so hard on yourself! This is my first pregnancy, and the hormones and mood swings are REAL, girl. I don't think that hormones are an excuse to behave badly nor to treat someone poorly, but they absolutely have an effect on us!

  • I think the thing is that just because you might be feeling a type of way from extra hormones, that doesn't mean your feelings aren't valid. They are still your feelings and they are real, not pretend.
  • @kmalls creepy internet hugs!!!

  • @kmalls **Hugs** What you are feeling is completely normal, I'm sorry your dog isn't doing too well. I find if I eat a little snack every couple of hours it really helps keep my hormones from going to the extreme.
  • @ChloandCoco you are so right. I was STARVING earlier and now that I've had a good (late) lunch, I feel so much more in control.

LOL sorry I was agreeing with you and trying to be funny but it clearly didn't go over very well. My comment about Scientology is because people who follow that belief system don't really believe hormones can impact mood. They actually don't believe in post partum depression or any type of mental illness at all.
  • @JJMNO1616 have you watched any of Leah Remini's series on Scientology? I'm completely obsessed with the religion (cult) and a new season of her documentary is coming out soon.
  • I too think an unstructured checkin is a good idea.

My  maternity clothes are hidden in the back of the basement, DH was supposed to help me get them out last week and never did.  I seriously only fit in my leggings and athletic short, and that is with losing about 15 lbs before getting pregnant.  I am so bloated.

And I am having some serious mood swings.  Almost every one is getting on my nerves.  Or I cry at things that would never make me cry.
  • @kmalls YAS I'm obsessed with it too and I'm so excited for the new season. Everything about this cult boggles my mind.

I tested this morning. All thoughts of a fun announcement to hubbie went out the window when I ran out screaming, there's really second line this time. (yesterday I had what I could have sworn was an indent on a wondfo.)
