Birth defects

I posted this on the infertility board but haven't gotten much in reply. Because I can never not worry, does anyone have any info from their doctor on the risk of birth defects after IVF with ICSI? I though after getting pregnant, I could chill but no. I have been researching all morning and it seems like the risks are high. Does anyone have any doctor approved info?

I did IVF with ICSI. I also had my embryos tested for abnormalities. Out of 7 blasts only 1 was abnormal - so 6/7 were perfectly healthy. I hope that puts your mind at ease. There are blood tests you can do to further look into this if you remain concerned - ask your doctor.

ETA - if you think about it, most of the abnormal embryos wouldn't have made it to blast, and beyond that would have been less likely to implant. If your embaby made it to blast and implanted the risk of abnormality is lower.
