My fiance suffers from low testosterone so his urologist and endocrinologist put him on 50mg Clomid (every other day). Below are his semen analysis results from his exam last October (way before starting Clomid). Please let me know if something looks off. We want to compare old semen analyses (including this one) to his new one before moving on to IVF. Volume: 1.9 (2-5) Concentration: 345 million (>20 million) Total Sperm Count: 638.3 (>40 million) Total Motile Sperm Count: 449.3 ( Progressive motility: 2 (>3 on a 0-4 scale) Agglutination: none (none) Kruger morphology: 18% (>14% fertile)
Me: 38, unexplained infertility 2 live births from previous relationship; no previous IVF, normal bloodwork DH: 34, no previous children, normal sperm count/motility/morphology
My DH suffers from low T as well and has been on clomid since December 2015. It has helped increase his T levels and sperm count. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
I'm having trouble deciphering the semen analysis... is that a concentration of 345 million sperm and a total sperm count of 638.3 million? If so, I have never heard of a sperm count being that high!

@wifeinraleigh28. Yeah, she spammed this lovely stuff over on TTGP, too. #humblebrag
"My H has low T and still has this ridiculously high sperm count, so astoundingly high it almost sounds made-up! Is this normal??? Tee-hee"
OP - honestly, read the room. Many of us struggle with MFI here. Actual male infertility. As in low and no counts. That was my husband. Zero sperm. Twice, on two separate SAs, and thus began our journey to find out why, and eventually perform a surgical sperm retrieval so we can have a shot at getting our biological children with IVF+ICSI. My husband's MFI and our struggle to TTC has taken over our entire married lives so far. No joke. So if this is just made up to get a rise out of people, haha, not funny. If this is real, please kindly GTFO with this mess. Ask your Andrologist to help you understand your husbands results, not a room full of people who are struggling.
Congrats on the Clomid apparently working for your H and GL with your IVF! Looks like you should have no problem on your Hs end!
For frame of reference, my H took Clomid too and the doctor got 4 vials from his retrieval... Andrology told us each of his MESA samples should yield a few hundred sperm for Embriology to work with for ICSI, and the TESE samples should have more like 10-50 viable sperm cells each. We have another member who's H is about to have his TESE later today as well! She is hoping for 6 vials of usable TESE samples for ICSI, too. Some of us have already moved onto donor sperm due to our Hs severe MFI. I realise this is not everyone's experience, but please see how waving this in the faces of a room full of infertile women is like a kick in the gut. *typos
I've never heard of too much sperm being a problem. Of course, after the last SA DH had the RE told us that with 7 million/mL natural pregnancy would never happen for us, so it's not exactly like this is an issue I have experience with.

I'm so sorry you guys struggled and waited so long @LadyMillil but so thrilled your story has a happy ending!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so sorry if this came off the wrong way. I got a hold of my fertility doctor and according to him, too much sperm CAN be a problem. It prevents other sperm from swimming properly and reaching the egg. Again, I am so sorry if I offended anyone.

1. His motility is great. 2. You said you were already planning on doing IVF? So this 100% does not matter with ICSI or with traditional IVF they process the sample so it's equally irrelevant. 3. As PPs pointed out over on TTGP, this is also an elevated sperm count due to the Clomid, i.e. if he had double this unmedicated and they weren't moving, Fine. But that's not what we have here. 4. Your husband may have low T, but he clearly doesn't have MFI. / Thank heavens the Clomid is doing it's job!
I'm glad to see your google works now, but it is utterly insulting to go around telling yourself your husband has MFI... WHEN HE DOESN'T!!!!! It's like projected hypochondria or something! Lol. As another poster already told you, please don't borrow trouble, and GL.
@BumpAdmin. Can we please close this? The OP spammed it on multiple boards and the question has been answered.
@LadyMillil I remember you from back in the day and I'm happy to see that you got your BFP! Congrats girl!
I was definitely confused by the OP's semen analysis results after thinking I was going to be reading about MFI. I thought it must be hundreds, not millions! MFI means that either the count is low, the motility is low, the morphology is low, or in our case, all of the above, lol.

@miketx83 Why would you have not discussed this with your doctor before posting it all over the interwebs? I don't think it's ever occurred to me to take any of our test results and run to TB before actually discussing with our doctor.
Also, +400 million motile sperm? Geez. We were ecstatic when clomid gave my H 10 million motile sperm. Your post is making me irrationally angry because you're making up problems where none exist. And if you're doing IVF it literally does not matter the results as long as you have enough good quality sperm to fertilize the eggs they retrieve--which you obviously do. I have no idea what DH's count was for our IVF cycle.
