Re: Monday Ticker Change 8/6
Good aside from no bras fitting my ever enlarging bust. Plus peeing in the middle of the night--I thought that was supposed to not be a thing during second tri!?! Also my sense of smell is stronger.
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
This morning my daughter had a tantrum and I just couldn't handle it (no coffee yet, come on!) and my husband gave me grief for it. Dude. You deal with her, then.
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs?
I never had one, but my husband has many. He has no middle name and most of his friends call him by his initials. DD doesn't have one either, but we have a lot of fleeting nicknames for her based on her cute habits at the time...
We're thinking of the name Pauline for this one, and I think it would lend itself to Polly or Poppy as a nn. Or Opal, but that's kind of a stretch.
I still feel sick a lot of the time but I'm starting to get so excited to meet this little boy growing and moving in my tummy that I'm happy anyway.

Team blue and team bump
Last night I went out and saw a band and hung out with friends until like 1am and lived to tell the tale. Some friends of ours moved to Portland a few years ago to record and for the superior Goth music scene but they always book a tour date here in August so they can visit for DH's birthday. There was no way that I could miss it and I am so glad that I went. I had a wonderful time listening to great music and seeing friends I haven't seen in ages. It was so nice to have a night out with my husband and my friends. I kind of felt like I was glowing for the first time this pregnancy.
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs?
I had many! My Mom called me BP or Beep or most often Bert which became Bertie Botts after Harry Potter. My dad still predominantly calls me Britty Kitty, my Grandparents always referred to me as Encyclopedia Brittania (Brittania being my true full first name) because I read constantly and had a huge vocabulary for a tiny child. All my friends called me Britta-Paige when I was a kid and a teen but it is mostly Bea now. DH has been Rabbit or White Rabbit since childhood.
Eric my step son has avoided nicknames for the most part and doesn't care for them but Lenora is more commonly called Loony or Loo or Nora (only acceptable from her favorite Aunt)
Victor is already Little V or Tiny Vic.
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? team green, and I'm showing
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs? I didn't really have a nickname growing up... my DH was called Dogg... since we haven't settled on names for LO we don't really gave nn possibilities, either...
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? yes girl, and yes showing
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs? nothing crazy fun or weird. My name is Nicole and I went by Cole and that's about it
1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
Feeling good, but boy am I tired of going pee all the time. And definitely having a lot of weird, super-vivid dreams and constant, overwhelming cravings for sweets and pumpkin coffee.
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing?
Rant: I'm a stomach sleeper and still having a wicked hard time adjusting to side sleep with the Snoogle... every time I wake up my ear is in searing pain.
Rave: Feeling baby flutter around has been the most wonderful, amazing, dreamy sensation I've ever experienced. I wish I had more time to experience this feeling (like years and years!)
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs?
I didn't really have any nicknames that stuck until I was given "sunshine" in high school (a friend called me that ironically, I was a total pessimist and the nickname was hilariously inappropriate and therefore stuck). But I do remember one of my mom's friends calling me "small fry" when I was a little girl and I thought it was the greatest thing at the time. DH gives me and our cats funny nicknames all the time, I enjoy them. No other kids yet.

3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? yes. We're having a girl and her name is Riley. No middle name yet, can't decide. I wanted to name my daughter Colette but my husband hated it so I compromised for my second choice and I'm excited about it. Any middle name suggestions?
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs? my name is Jennifer so I have had the typical nicknames Jenni and Jen. People now when they first meet me don't want to call me Jennifer for some reason and will either ask if they can call me Jen or just do it..it's kind of odd..my mom always called me punk as a kid and my dad called me fat head as a baby because apparently I had a fat head... thanks dad! My husband has been calling my step son worm for years because he's a little wiggle worm so I'm sure Riley will have many nicknames in no time.

3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? Boy & for sure have "popped"
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs? I did and I hated it, they called me Mandy. Definitely not a Mandy lol. We picked only names that didn't have nicknames because both of us have them (my grandparents still call me that.)
People have tried giving the boys nicknames, but they haven't stuck yet, and I'm good with that.

@brittabatwhite bertie botts! i looooove this! what's the story behind white rabbit? also, that's so sweet of your friends to always book a tour near you for your DH's birthday? what state are you guys in?
do we know why you are high risk and i just don't remember?
@kersey0208 i hope they can get your meds figured out. headaches are debilitating. and i'm sure they don't help your overall mental outlook.

1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 23 weeks, a very large monster-sized grapefruit
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? it's another boy (my DS is three next month) and i am enormous.
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs?
no nicknames here. i am pretty anti-nicknames, myself. my DH is too. at least we agree? it has made choosing boy names very difficult because we are trying to avoid the ones that get automatically shortened / NNd out of habit, a la jennifer's complaints above! but when you actually think about it, that throws out a whole lot of names.

1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 20weeks, I think that is something like a can of soda
3) Do you know baby's sex? Have you started showing? nope still team green, but definitely team showing
6) GTKY: Did you have a nickname growing up? If so, please share! Do you want your child to have a NN? If you have kids already, do they have NNs? nope no NN for me. the twins have all kinds of NN mostly just random variations of their names that have stuck.
@brittabatwhite I'm impressed you were out so late and lived! I would be struggling!
@lavashiner the pee thing is a whole pregnancy thing... as for bras, I love the bravado nursing bras and for larger sizes they are fairly accommodating for growth but still supportive....
@ngarciabyu sorry about the weight gain... I was wondering if my MW would say anything since I've already gained 20lbs but she didn't. I try to eat fairly healthy and only splurge a little but still the weight seems to be adding up. I think sometimes our bodies just feel like they need more reserves...
@kersey0208 sorry your still not feeling good. I hope they get the BP stuff straightened out. Have you talked to anyone about your anxiety? Maybe getting some of those fears out will help you feel better.
@anewadventure I like the idea of the additional question. I have a mountain buggy duo which is a side by side jogging stroller but its not any wider than their single stroller (25 inches) and can accommodate a car seat (if you get the attachment). We love ours. (I also looked at the city select but for me it was more awkward to fold up)

@wabash15. Thanks! I haven't seen anyone for my anxiety since I got pregnant. I was on antidepressant and anxiety meds prior. Had to stop the anxiety meds and then decided to go off the antidepressant at week 8 they said it was my choice I could stay on it but it did have potential risks especially in 3rd tri. I'm thinking about therapy again it's a good idea! Also thinking about seeing a chiropractor maybe help with headaches and overall feel better. I've never been but I've heard good things.

We live in Nebraska.
My pregnancy is being monitored because I have an SCH and placenta previa. Both are looking pretty ok right now.
@kersey0208 I am 5'1" and this pillow feels perfectly made for my height so I am not surprised that it isn't comfy for normal heighted ladies. I thought I'd have to figure out what to do with the extra length and that it would just take up too much space and neither was true.
I have had migraines my whole life but nothing as dreadful as pregnancy migraines. I just had to cut a foot and a half of my hair off (no worries it is still past my shoulders) because the weight of my hair was making them worse. Between hormones and vitamins my already massive hair had doubled in thickness and grown 4 inches since my bfp.
Amazing the things we have to do to stay comfy!
