I feel like crap on a cracker this week. So nauseous (ESP in Morning right when I wake up and from late afternoon until bedtime). I've got Diclegis but it makes me feel like a zombie.... like can't move my body I'm so fatigued.
I have my first OB appt on Tuesday and last night I dreamed that they found another baby and its triplets! Lol
The most common reaction to our news is "holy shit!" Which actually makes me laugh. We've just started telling close friends. Our families will find out this month (they all live far from us, so we're waiting to tell them in person).... excited to see what they say!!
@sardavbak I'm sorry you're not feeling well! I'm not doing fantastic either, but could be a lot worse considering I'm not actually throwing up. GL Tuesday!!
I have my hopefully last RE appointment Wednesday. I'm excited to see them both again, but also have all the fears that I'm sure you guys share.
Everyone who we told so far we told right away. I think ILs will be most surprised but we're not sharing with them till after genetic testing and we also didn't share our IF journey with them. I don't remember what people we have told said. Maybe "wow"? Or "really"?
Are you guys showing yet? I'm pretty sure this isn't just bloat anymore. I think I might have lost a little weight, but I'm short so weight gain and apparently twins tend to show on me early.
@vflux33, I was just talking to my doctor because of an accident with my daughter hitting me in the stomach. My uterus is measuring 16 weeks (half way to belly button) which is normal. She said 6-10weeks ahead is standard for twin pregnancies.
Hi guys, congrats to you all! Can I ask a couple questions? Due in March, 1st appointment is in a couple weeks... Did you have any symptoms that tipped you off to being pregnant with twins? Did you feel different from other pregnancies, if youve had others? My husband and I have this strong feeling we are having twins, but I'm sure many people think that and are wrong...just curious!
Most of us were undergoing infertility treatments, which drastically increases the odds of a multiples pregnancy. I had a high beta and my RE told me that could mean twins, but other than the ultrasound there is no way to know. And there are other explanations for a high beta. All of my symptoms were and still are normal compared to other people.
Pregnant with fraternal twins! I'm almost 8 weeks. I, too, will see my RE every 2 weeks until I'm 12 weeks. I lost identical twins in April so I'm always so anxious at our Ultrasounds. We found out we lost those babies at our 8 week ultrasound but they stopped growing shortly after our 6 week ultrasound. I can't even begin to compare how much morning sickness I'm having with this current pregnancy. I've been on Diclegis now for 5 days and it's taken off the edge but definitely still there.
@jaime363 mine are the result of IUI, and I had very high betas as well. I had very mild 1st tri symptoms with my daughter and have felt awful this time around - nauseous and so so so tired, so definitely stronger symptoms than before.
@vflux33, she is 16 months old so it was a total accident but I had a ton of cramping afterwards and my doctor wanted me to come in. Here I was thinking my uterus would still be safe in my pelvis, but nope! Need to be much more careful playing with my strong toddler.
Thank you for the thoughts<3 All the kind words and support has left me speechless! It's crazy how quickly Internet strangers become a tight knit support group when we are all there for each other's ups and downs.
8 weeks today and the nausea started yesterday. I thought I was going to get away with none but alas that is not the case. It does make me feel a little better knowing that nausea is a good sign since I am FTM and having natural twins! Next appt is on the 28th when I'll be 11 weeks. Anxious to make it to that date!
Hi @knottie6d5217d4fd5343! Welcome and congrats on your twins! It would be so much easier for us to tag you and get to know you if you change your username to something more recognizable with fewer numbers. If you go to the knot and change it there, log out, and log back in, the new name should show. Congrats again!
I had my first OB appt today! Got to see the babies again - right on track for size and strong heartbeats!
My dr said they will do the NIPT testing, and if it comes back positive for anything then we can discuss next steps (amino, etc). I've also got a "boutique" ultrasound scheduled for around 16 weeks to tell us genders!
I spoke to him about weeks "goal" for delivery too, and he said we'll breathe a big sigh of relief after 32 weeks, and they can come any time after 36 weeks. If I don't go into labor on my own we'll be scheduling a repeat c-section for no later than 38 weeks.
@sardavbak YAY! So glad your u/s went well! I like the "sigh of relief" timeline. I'll definitely keep that in mind too.
I'm still on the fence about NIPT myself because an increase in false positives/not knowing whether an abnormality effects which twin or both makes me so nervous (I'm def at least doing the other blood test and NT scan). Did you guys talk about margin of error at all?
Thank you @wabash15!! I was considering PMing you actually since I know you've been here before and wanted to bombard you with an inappropriate number of questions.
Had our 3rd ultrasound this morning (7w1d)...still 3 babies, 3 strong heartbeats, and they are all measuring almost a week ahead. Omg. Still in shock and completely terrified, but happy and in awe that I have THREE babies inside of me.
Still feeling pretty awful. 24/7 nausea, but I haven't thrown up yet. I got some Diclegis so I may as well give it a shot.
We've told a few people and it's been hilarious to see people's reactions. I told a co-worker/friend who started crying and shaking. I think her reaction was more extreme than mine
@Gingham Wow that's so awesome!!! I know you were stressing not sure how they looked before and it's so relieving that they're measuring ahead. Congrats!

Yes, it's so crazy what a difference a week makes!
Brown spotting quite a bit on my end. Just had my 8 week ultrasound on Tuesday and 2 strong heartbeats at 167bpm (yes, both were the same!). Anyone else experiencing brown spotting in the first trimester with twins?
@chelseysullivan0613 Great heartbeats! Sorry about the spotting. I haven't had any spotting, but since it's normal in pregnancy generally, I doubt that's different for a twin pregnancy. If it stays light I wouldn't worry. If it gets heavy though I'd call your doctor.
A family member who works in medicine told me to see a Maternal-Fetal medicine doctor instead of a normal OB because they're more experienced with multiples. Have you guys heard this? Are you seeing "normal" OBs?
