2nd Trimester

How do we feel about this maternity trend?

I think I dig it... but I'll apply my own style to it.

(I think these dresses are a little too "peasant-ish" for me. But I love maxi maternity dresses for the summer!)

Re: How do we feel about this maternity trend?

  • I like this style A LOT better...

  • Being due in July (end of) and not having any air-conditioning in my house... I'm thinking I may have to embrace it.
  • I think the cut of the dress is cute, but the actual dress itself is NMS.

However, I would look like a disgusting whale in that dress. Plus my boobies would sag to my knees

  • I like keeping my chest more hidden than that...especially now that it's growing at an unknown/uncontrollable rate. :)

  • I love the maxi dresses, but I think I'd feel a little dorky in one. With or without a bump! Plus I'd get the bottom stuck in the car door, trip over it, etc.
  • I would look like a tank in something like that, and I think my boobs would fall out of it. Someone could get hurt!
  • i had a dress like that last summer (although not maternity) and it made me really hot. it was like wearing a sheet all around me. I couldnt imagine wearing it while pregnant.
  • I am not tall, so this look would make me look like a pilgrim, I'm afraid!

  • Those would be nice...if I would EVER be able to fit my ginormous boobs in them!
  • Since it's winter, they make me cold just looking at them.  Other than that I would defiantly need a shirt of some sort underneith.  That top is definatly NOT going to withhold my boobies.  Way to big and WAYYYYY to heavy for such little fabric.
  • If there was one that I could wear a bra with, sure.  I think most pregnant women need/want the support.   But I have no problem with them.
  • I love peasant skirts, but have always steered clear of the dresses. I know they're very comfortable, but I'm too self conscious of my chest, I guess. I'd probably go with the silvery dress though.
  • I love it!! I was sctually looking at one on Victoria Secrets this morning.
  • I think it is cute, being due in mid july i will get lots of dresses but probably knee length... And i totally need more fabric to cover up my boobs...
  • I'm not a fan at all.  Little tiny tops like that don't really work well if you have big boobs.

  • I love sundresses, but I think I'm just too short to pull off the maxi dress look.  I'd end up looking like I got attacked by a sheet.

  • I would totally wear them if they were shorter. I sweat like a beast so the more fabric the more heat. I can't wait to show off my new boobs. Those are my pregnany boobs in the pic below...you get the idea...
  • Im not tall at all- the maxi style would not look good on me, but I think its cute for taller people.

  • I'm really short so I'd look really frumpy in that dress.  Plus the sisters need more support than that!

  • I like the cut of the dress but not the print - I think it would only work for people that were tiny before becoming pg though.  I have problems keeping the girls in shirts and dresses that are not revealing, so i think I would definitely have a problem with a top like that.
  • A little too peasantish for me too but I did live in dresses and sundresses at the end.  None of my pants fit me any longer. Sad

  • Not a fan. They are too long for me.

  • They remind me of outfits that people would wear at a folk center/folk art convention.  I think they seem a little like something that a rebellious daughter of one of those families with 20 kids would wear.

  • I like them..doubt I'd ever buy one but I think it's cute.

  • I like the second pic better, however, I'm also short & petite in general so I don't think I could pull it off. Since I leave in SC & May & June are going to be hot, I think I'll be going for wrap dresses.?

  • It looks comfortable. However, I would look absolutely horrible in that dress.
  • ugghhh I am in an August wedding and that's what the bride picked out....I am short and soooo not looking forward to wearing it.... too hippie for me but it's her day so...
  • Definitely not my style, too long & too open at the top... and where I live it doesn't get hot enough to wear something like that anyway.

  • I love them and think they look comfortable (if it was warm enough).

  • I have a few and I love them. So comfortable. Maybe it's just a CA thing??
  • The dresses in the OP are NMS, but the one in the second post is kind of cute. I don't think I could pull it off though.
