Diaphragmatic hernia

Does anyone have experience with this or know of someone who does?

My little guy has it, stomach organ is in chest cavity and pushed his heart to the right side instead of the left. I've been doing so much research, I'd like to hear first hand stories for more insight.

Re: Diaphragmatic hernia

  • I do not have any first hand experience with this but I do know friends of friends (quite removed) who share their story in Facebook. A quick search for support groups in Facebook showed multiple ones including CHERUBS, and CDH little survivors awareness. That may be a better way to connect with moms who have or are experiencing this diagnosis and treatments. I'm sorry you and your LO are dealing with this, and I will keep you all and your medical team in my thoughts!

  • I have never even heard of this so I just looked it up. While I have no experience, I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going g through this and I hope everything goes as smooth as possible when he's born.
  • I do it was related to my daughters genetic disorder though. I'm not of much help though. She was still born.

  • @britneeh I don't habe any experience. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry. I hope you are able to get the answers that you are looking for.
  • a girl I went to highschool with had a baby with this a few years ago, unfortunately he was quite a severe case and died within days of birth. But from what I've read the degree of severity directly influences the outcome, so if your LOs case isn't that severe, there is potential for them to live a completely normal life! My friend found LOTS of support from CHERUBS like @brittyclem mentioned. I am so sorry you are going through this, I wish you strength and resilience as you go through this very stressful time <3
