Ooooohhh! I love wedding stuff! It was just our anniversary so I recently went through our photos. My favorite item is my ring. I love that DH designed it and that it has sapphires. I also really loved all our yellow roses for our flowers. And don't let the pictures fool you... it was literally 115 degrees the day we got married. Pictures in spoiler.
Ack. Someone just told me how to get out of the box the other day but I don't remember. Anyway, these are probably GIANT but are the fruit sculpture and table settings for our wedding. I can't take credit for the fruit sculpture other than I asked for it to be built. However, I was type A on a budget so I was proud of our low budget table scapes - Orchids from Whole Foods (bought in bulk), glass pots and moss for orchids, votives and tealights, DIY menu and drink menu cards, gold chargers bought for $1 each from Dollar Tree online. Yes.
@mileswithmyles I love you ring! I'm a sapphire ring gal too. I also love the ring photo. My photographer was great, but we got married in a museum, and she decided to set the rings on these antique electrical caps that were on display - they look like giant glass dicks. She realized it as soon as we looked back and was horrified.
My dad built our chuppa for us. We did a bride's cake and a groom's cake (I designed the groom's cake digitally without any input from DH so it was a surprise at the wedding). I liked our rustic flowers.
I don't look at our wedding photos that often, and DH looks so different! He's lost 50 lbs since then. Our 4th wedding anniversary is Friday!
So you can see my dress (Pronovias, lace A-line) and our flowers. Our guest book was actually 12 super nice bottles of wine that people signed, and we are drinking them on special occasions (the night 3 months before IVF will be one of them.) for a surprise for my husband I had a guy comeback and hand-roll cigars for our guests since our wedding was indoor/outdoor, and our cake which we cut with a sword (marine corps tradition).
I'm a super sentimental person, so I wanted to add as much tradition and meaning into every aspect of our wedding as possible (I kinda drove DH crazy). 1. I'm a hobby baker, so I baked all of our desserts (it was good stress reliever during final exams for nursing school.) 2. We each lit our baptismal candles with our parents, before facing the priest. 3. We replaced the diamond in my ring to a sapphire in Air Force blue (DH is an AF officer). 4. We had an evening, candle lit ceremony just like my parents and grandparents ( at Christmastime like them too), our color scheme (pale pink and lilac) was the same as my in-laws February wedding.
5&6. My bridesmaids and flower girl and I all wore gloves from the vintage glove collecting that I have been building since I was 6. 7. My bridesmaids carried Jane Austen novels down the aisle, as I am an avid Austen fan and a hopeless romantic. I am also the child of a librarian and DH and I met in our high school library. 8. Our flower girl threw flowers picked by DH and I at my great-grandparents homestead in SD and my father's childhood home of Mackinac Island (also where we went on our first vacation together). 8. My sash had lace from my grandmother's wedding dress. The lace from her dress was also worn by my mom and sister.
@mrsbunz mackinac island is my favorite place in the whole world!!!! I go every year!
DF and I are just starting to plan our 2019 wedding... We are planning to have a tent wedding/reception at the house I grew up in which my parents are selling to my bro and SIL.
i could post from my first wedding but that seems tacky lol
Okay, so we did a super nontraditional wedding and don't mind the silly stickers, just was trying to not blast faces around and that was the best I could do. Photo one is literally what DH wore. Jeans, t-shirt (he wanted a captain America one, that plain one was a compromise), and flip flops. Also, he just had to remove the hat off for the ceremony. Photo two don't mind the Ta-ta's lol. Not a great photo without our faces, but w/e, my favorite photo from that day . Photo three ewww kisses, but shows our flowers and my dress and my "sister" was my maid of honor. And photo four, my MIL is an ordained minister and performed our ceremony. It was super special and funny and amazing. If we could redo the one this I'd do different is have more photos. I love the memories and photos we do have, imo we wanted more focus on our marriage, and less on the wedding. The wedding is only one day of our lives. It turned out exactly how we wanted and was very "us". And I love all your pretty pictures!!!

@thatcrazyauntie It's one of my favorite places too! I used to go every year, but as I've gotten older and moved half a country away, it's been harder. I was able to take DS for the first time this summer and it was wonderful to watch him experience it all.
1) I'm still obsessed with my shoes. 2)The week of the wedding I changed my mind on how I wanted my hair. The girl killed it! Also, I adore my dress. It was a $250 bridesmaids dress. Perfect for our brunch wedding. 3) The florist cancelled on us and we couldn't find another one within our budget that was available so I ended up DIYing all the florals. I'm super proud of how my bouquet turned out. 4) That garland was nearly the death of me and my family but I swoon every time I see our ceremony set-up 5) I also adore our sweetheart table. I have that sign hanging up on our gallery wall now. 6) Our friends who just started a bakery made the cake for us. I didn't do a tasting or see an example before hand. They blew me away! 7) We also had a NY Ice bike there. It was so fun!
Those shoes are AMAZING, please tell me you've found excuses to wear them again

I love my wedding pics! we're both Disney freaks so our wedding was at Disney with a Cinderella theme.
~I had seen my dress several years before and fell in love but wouldn't jinx myself by trying it on or buying it. When we got engaged, it was still around. I tried on other dresses but it was still the one! ~we had to have pics in front of the castle! ~ my bouquet was messed up (wrong color of roses--they were purple/pinkish and were supposed to be lavender) but after we got pictures back, I'm glad for the mistake because they looked great in our centerpiece! ~we had Cinderella's carriage. My dad ride in it with me from the hotel to the wedding Pavillion and then H rode in it with me from the ceremony to the reception ~our aisle ~I knew I wanted purple shoes. I tried so many and fell in love with these. They were a size too big so the morning of the wedding we padded them to make them fit. I love that my photographer got the monorail in the background! ~I loved the purple lighting! We also had a castle with fireworks displayed on the wall & a carriage on the dance floor. ~in between a course we had an ice Cinderellas glass slipper with sherbet. There was a light under to light it up (apparently that night my grandma freaked out in her hotel room that it was going to catch on fire so she flushed it down the toilet lol) ~for our exit, I wanted to light lanterns but Disney wouldn't let us. So I had paper lanterns in the room for cocktail hour ~our yummy cake
Everyone's weddings were so stunning, and I love every single dress.
We had a small casual wedding at a historic site/garden. I wish I had more photos, but my MIL (who is a rancid She-Beast from the swamps of the netherworld) hijacked our photographer at one point. Here are some shots, and our most interesting details.)
I am still in love with my dress. It was so ethereal and light. I will have it shortened for our vow renewal.
So first, I grew up in Western PA and they have a tradition of having a huge cookie table. So there's a pic of that. Then I am a big fan of sweets and cake, so we did a selection of cakes sliced thinly so that everyone could try several/all of them! We had Red Velvet, Chocolate Torte, White Almond, Pumpkin Torte, and Peanut Butter Cup!

Ha, I love all these photos! We had a really small wedding (it was in a town that neither of us lived in because my father was wheelchair bound and couldn't travel). I was a resident so making less than dirt and we had no money so I made all the decorations and boutineers (sp?). Photos in spoiler since they're huge.

I love looking at everyone's photos! Our wedding was in late October, and we were afraid that the leaves would drop, but they didn't (it was nice not to have bare trees in all of our photos). It was really cold though, so in half of my wedding photos, I'm wearing my jacket...black matches everything, right? The place we got married was an old historical section of town, so our venue had all of this old antiquey stuff, which meant we didn't have to decorate as much (we were on a budget for sure). I also got to wear the petticoat that's been in my family for over 100 years under my dress, and my H's grandmother's pearls.
ETA: I can't seem to comprehend how to put in image in a spoiler
I don't have many of our pictures on my phone. The red heart button was from my grandmother's button collection that my sister got after she died.
MH proposed at a doughnut shop with a custom made doughnut. We used to go have doughnut date nights every week together. So, we had a spread of craft doughnuts instead of cake.
Our flowers were lavender & wheat. They were both locally grown near where I was raised.
I had been on crutches with multiple breaks in my foot for a few months. When I go off crutches right before the wedding, I was still in a walking boot. However, I ended up wearing tennis shoes the day of the wedding. Our photographer cropped thrm, out of the pictures. It didn't bother me, but I guess it did her!
Our photographer was a saint. The same week everything went down with my foot (Thanksgiving week), our 2 photographers backed out of our wedding. So, we ended up with a better photographer & a great deal.
@jrm_14 I accidentally contributed to the breaking of DH's toes a month before our wedding (I mean, he shouldn't have taken my wine and ran around the apt with it, but I guess I also shouldn't have frantically chased him quite so much?). He was supposed to wear his dress shoes for the ceremony but then bring his boot so he could be more comfortable during the reception, but he forgot the boot, and obviously I wasn't with him in the morning to remind him. Anyway, in half our photos, his foot with the broken toes is like way out to the side, and he's sort of grimacing. Ugh, broken bones are the worst! lol
I really liked our room and the flowers. They were the perfect shade of lavender! I like this picture from our first dance and the way the light hits our faces. My husband wanted bagpipes for the wedding and I said no way, but then I surprised him with it as his wedding gift.
@doxiemoxie212 I'm glad I'm not the only one who has accidentally broken their spouse. When DH & I were dating we were down in Mississippi visiting his bio-family. And we were riding his cousin's 3-wheeler on some dirt roads just goofing around, not on the highway or anything. Either way, it flipped on a turn (which was super scary). I was pretty much fine, just scrapes/bumps/bruises, but DH was all sorts of banged up, and ended up with broken ribs from me landing on him and the 3-wheeler landing on me. He still will bring it up to this day about how "I'm such a bully that I broke his ribs" lol. He openly admits that it was one of the scariest moments of his life and that was when he knew he loved me because my response to the entire ordeal (once realizing we were both alive and essentially in one piece) was to bust out laughing and say "I'm fine just get this fucking thing off of me". Then we had to walk the 2 miles back to his aunts house cause we couldn't get the stupid thing to start. MS was an adventure, and that cousin still won't let me back on the 3-wheeler (cause "damn yankee chicks are bad luck")

I love it! @jnmiller324 I love that bagpipe surprise! So cute!
I wish I could post a pic of my invitations without giving away all my info lol, I made them myself and slaved over probably 100's of hours. My dad made the arbor from an oak tree on his ranch (in TX) and hauled it all the way to VA for our wedding. My brothers hated me for that- apparently it weighed like 700 pounds and they had to set it up on the wedding day. I bought my dress at an off the rack store (last year's floor models) and had a lot of work done to it to make it what I wanted. I had a little camera with the instant development film for people to put in the guest book, it was so much fun to look back through it. Such a wonderful day!
Re: GTKY: weddings!
1) our guestbook was a jar of Jenga blocks, and now we have a pretty glass jar of signed blocks.
2) My mom baked literally thousands of biscotti and we had them on trays all around the reception space.
Im excited to see pics from people who are less phenomenally terrible at photo ownership than me!
