TW in my life right now is the weather. It's super hot (mid-high 90s) and we don't have AC. I hate feeling sticky and sweaty all the time. I woke up sweating. Yuck. Also, I have company, so I actually have to wear CLOTHES around the house. Grr.

Just found out the hospital I'm planning to deliver at is looking to merge with the other hospital in town. I am not happy with their OB department at all!!! You have to BF not an option, and they don't have a nursery. I personally think this is BS both of those things should be options. After my traumatic birth experience last time have a couple hours baby free in nursery was much needed.
@mispanda We live off grid (solar panels for power), so we don't really have the electricity to run an AC unit. Someday I hope to have a good enough power system that we can!

My advisor for college is TW today. She keeps sending conflicting emails about what exactly is needed to do our 18 hours of field experience in September. Get it together!
that is awful @kindbytealikat I think hospitals should always allow the option for FF and a nursery. I love my hospital because they are open for both BF and FF and will help you no matter. I was never asked once if I wanted to try to BF they just always made sure I had enough formula. Plus the nursery to get at least one good night's sleep is necessary especially since you just gave birth to a baby. Don't know about you but I had a hard time getting out of the bed the first day cause I hurt.
agree with @hedgepig on the heat. At my office this old lady is the control of the thermostat and she is "always cold" even in the summer. So its quite warm, i'm so ready for fall and winter I love cold weather because I love sweatshirts.
Everyone! Lol I'm a community manager for homeowners associations and everyone is complaining about the smallest stuff. I literally got an email of someone complaining of their neighbors dog pooping on their lawn with a nice picture of the dog squatting... No one needs a picture of that.

Omg. This job sounds like the things nightmares are made off. HOA people (the residents) are the actual worst. I can't believe you have to deal with them on the regular. Yuck.

Woah, are you 100% sure that's the case? I can't imagine a hospital forcing anyone to breastfeed. Some (like myself) physically can't. Others just don't want to. So do they let those babies starve?
The "baby-friendly hospital" designation is something that's unfortunately gaining momentum, and I have a hunch that's what's you're describing. I noticed a huge difference in my delivery experience between my first baby and second. I had c-sections for both, and with my first we utilized the nursery when we needed/wanted to as I was recovering. Breastfeeding was a very obvious problem from the get-go, and I was supplied with all the formula I needed without me needing to ask.
With the second baby, posters with The Ten Rules of Breastfeeding were plastered all over the walls, the nursery had been closed and I had to regularly ask for formula. I was never denied it, but every ounce the baby used was meticulously recorded. It was a much less pleasant experience that time, and I'm not excited about it this time around, either.
@karabeers That is terrible. We have a room at work where you aren't allowed to take food into, and one of the secretaries took a picture of someone with a water bottle in the room. It's just a regular conference room so I'm not sure what the big deal is.
@kindbytealikat@ksmalls I work in a hospital and they are working on becoming "baby-friendly". The nursery is closed and breastfeeding is strongly encouraged. I did ok BF at the hospital, it was going home that was the worst for me, so I didn't pay attention to signs or anything but they did definitely push it.
TW train schedule and swimming lesson times!!!! what can't there be a train that gets me to my car in enough time to not have to run around like a crazy woman to get to daycare and then to swim.
@kmalls to my knowledge they make everyone try. And will not provide any supplement products unless there is a nutritional issues. So technically you can but you have to bring it in yourself and they will constantly push. I have a friend who delivered there before it became a policy and now it's policy. It was much the same then. I understand the push for BF and Rooming in however I still think it should be the choice of the parents. And I am more irckd with a closed nursery. I think one of the benefits of the hospital is when you're recovering is to get a little extra rest because you aren't going to get it once home. In the hospitals desire to drive a baby focused center they are taken considerations for the mom away and her health doesn't matter. And yes they are certified baby friendly.
@kindbytealikat I'm in agreement with you on all of this, it's terrible policy on all fronts, I just can't wrap my head around a hospital literally forcing everyone to try breastfeeding. How can a hospital force a woman to do anything she doesn't want to?
I live in a big city with multiple hospitals and NONE of them have a nursery. After a LONG labor with my son it was nice to have some help and some sleep before we went home. Looks like it'll be much different this time around.
Our well is a TW. We just found out we have to completely replace it at a cost of 10k! So sad that we have to spend all that money. We were planning to redo all the lighting in our house and now we won't be able too.
