Dreams/intuition and baby's sex

I just had my 4th dream that baby is a boy. We'll find out on Thursday (assuming baby cooperates)

Did any of you have a strong feeling or dreams about baby's sex? If you've already found out, did your dreams/feelings turn out to be true? Just curious! My SIL thought for sure she was having a girl...and it was a boy.

Re: Dreams/intuition and baby's sex

  • I was pretty sure DD was a girl (she was). I was positive this one was a boy (it is!). I didn't have dreams, but just really strong intuition. I know women are wrong all the time, but for me, those feelings turned out right.

  • DH and I both had a dream on the same night that we were having a girl. I think we kind of knew all along too for some reason.

  • I never had any dreams. In the very beginning I decided that I thought it was a boy, but I think I was mostly doing that because at the time I was hoping for a girl. A few weeks later I realized I was equally excited for either sex, and then I didn't feel like I really had a guess, but when the tech told us it's a girl I ended up being pretty shocked, so I think my original guess was more prevalent in my mind than I had thought.

DH guessed girl because he wanted a girl. He felt pretty strongly that it was, then he had a dream that it was a boy which knocked him from 99% sure to like 95% or something (his words).

I had very vivid dreams of holding a baby girl during my first pregnancy and I had a girl :)

the others I never had dreams, but strong feelings. I've been right 3/4 times! TW* I really think the baby I lost was a girl so I think I've been right 4/5 times
  • I was convinced LO was a boy and DH thought girl (gut feeling). I was shocked (and so pleasantly surprised!) when we found out at a 16 week elective U/S that it's a girl! I'm usually pretty intuitive, but I've been off this whole pregnancy. Go figure! My anatomy scan is next week, and I can't wait (fingers crossed) to have it confirmed again.
  • I just knew DS was a boy and was right. I really didn't have any type of gut feeling with this one but my FIL had a very vivid dream of holding a baby girl (they have 4 grandsons). It's a girl =)
  • I thought I was having a boy. Then for the two nights leading up to the anatomy scans I had dreams that I had a girl. It's a girl! So my dreams were right..baby must have been telling me I was wrong in my guess. Hahaha
  • I dreamt DD was a girl and she was. This time, before we had our first ultrasound I thought it was boy girl twins'-just one in there! I think maybe a boy, but I don't feel as strongly about it as I did with DD

  • I had no intuitive sense regarding baby's sex at all.  No dreams, no guesses, nada.  We found out fairly early through NIPT, so I wonder if I would have had more intuition on it if we'd spent longer in limbo (not that I am complaining! Knowing has been amazing for us!).

  • I'm on 3 for 3 correct. I was team green for my first but I just felt he was a boy. I actually said, "oh thank god he has a penis" when he was born, Bc I was not in any way mentally prepared for a girl.

my second I knew she was a girl before I knew I was pregnant. I got very upset at something that I knew shouldn't have made me so upset but I couldn't control my rage and sadness. I told my MIL, "I must be pregnant and if I am it's a girl Bc I was never this emotional with him." A week later I found out I was pregnant (5 weeks when I found out) and my husband said, "whelp, guess it's a girl." There was never doubt.

this one I never had a moment or any dreams (except last night I had one,) just a slow building feeling that she must be a girl. So much so that we found out Bc if it was a boy I would have had to adjust mentally to the idea. Today it was confirmed we're having another daughter  <3 My husband even said, "well, at first I thought boy, but then she was so sure it was a girl that I started to think so, too."

Its like my only superpower. And now that I'm done having babies it's useless again  :D
  • During my first pregnancy I actually woke up a few times in the middle of the night and just had this feeling we were having twins. Twins do not run in our families... Sure enough we went for our dating ultrasound and there were two. I initially thought they were going to be girls and then later on in my pregnancy I had a dream and saw their faces and that they were boys.  Even though I had that dream, I still thought girls. Maybe I was just holding out hope. :)  I'm just waiting to have a definitive dream this time and it hasn't happened yet. I do strongly believe in intuition as well.

  • I dream to my first was a girl but I was sure I was having a boy intuition-wise. She was a girl. This time I dreamt I was having a boy and also thought it was a boy and it is.
  • @Tennis11785 that was me with my first! I was 100% sure I was having a boy and I was so wrong.
  • I had a dream it's a girl.  And we are team green - so I'll let you know in December :)

  • No dreams on their sex, but like @tmk0325, I had several dreams that I was having twins.  It was crazy at the time bc I was unaware twins ran in our family. It was like de ja vu at the dating scan from my vivid dreams
  • With my previous 3, I had strong hunches and was right every time. So when I strongly felt this one was a boy, I was blown away when the NIPT said girl. I was skeptical all the way up to the anatomy scan.

  • With both pregnancies I had very vivid dreams immediately prior to finding out that they were boys and sure enough both were boys.  With this LO, I actually saw him in delivery room in my dream and have a very clear picture of what he looks like so I'm curious if he will come out looking like that IRL

  • With the twins I had no clue, no intuition no nothing the entire pregnancy (we were team green) and they are B/G
With this pregnancy after we did our IUI I had a very vivid dream that I was pregnant with quads but in that same dream while looking at the ultrasound of my quads I was holding a single baby boy. I am pregnant with a singleton so no multiples this time and like @atack we are team green again and will have to wait till December to find out. I have not had any other dreams on the matter so who knows!

  • I had zero intuition with DS. With this pregnancy I had a strong intuition baby was a boy. She's a girl! DH did say the second I said I thought it was a boy he knew she was a girl so that's aboit

  • When I found out I might be having twins or that it could just be a fluid sac (more likely since twins don't run in my family and I have not had any IVF), I dreamed that I was having twins and that ended up being correct.

I didn't know the genders, but my husband and step-daughter were very sure we were getting a boy and a girl, and they both have creepy intuition, so I was pretty confident they were right. And they were!
