We met on OkCupid so I searched and found this gif which I feel sums up our relationship in a lot of very interesting ways. Plus we met right after I told a friend, "I don't really want to meet anyone serious right now because it's such a hectic time in my life." So I really feel like meeting him was cupid saying, "Screw you, I do what I want." Though I'll admit that @Augusta108 's gif also applies to us.

Rave - My garden (ok, it's only four plants) is growing amazingly fast and we will hopefully have fresh tomatoes soon! We're already eating basil and cucumbers.

CS/Q: No real questions, but I'm so glad I'm temping this cycle bc it really remains to be seen what's going to happen here. I had all this EWCM that so far as switched to C this morning. So who knows. CD9 would be pretty darn early to O, but I did have a crazy-short cycle not that long ago, just 24 days in May, but there were two cycles in between there, so it's not exactly alternating either, if so... So it's just weird. Bodies are weird. Or the saline could make it <i>late</i>, too. Nobody knows.

I've gotten a positive OPK 3 days in a row, and my temp went up this morning. Is it possible to get a positive OPK and have ovulated yesterday?
Does anyone have any good strategies for managing their optimism? I'm WAY TOO invested in this cycle, and I'm anticipating that my next CD1 is going to be just brutal (emotionally).

I'm not sure how to do the gif thing, but we met in undergrad, I think my first week there. We shared a major, and he was TAing the intro physics lab that I took.

But I think having a group like this with ladies who are going through exactly what you are, that not only understand, but you can lean on during the tough times, will really be helpful. We are in this together in a sense, you are so not alone.

R/R: I was over on TWW for my first cycle and now have wandered over here. Hello! I do see some familiar faces but looking forward to getting to know new people too. I'm vacation for the next week!

R/R: Saw my dad yesterday, which is always a little weird. I don't have any ill will toward my dad, but he's 71 and sort of has the maturity/responsibility level of a teenager. He's an artist and just never wanted to grow up, and then he was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 47, and I think he panicked, and just decided to never try at all to grow up. He's an interesting person but just.... sigh. Anyway, at this point the Parkinson's isn't great, and he had brain surgery about 18 months ago to get a.... IDK, basically a brain version of a pacemaker. His symptoms are still out of control, though, because he doesn't like to be "controlled" by his medication or recharging his device. So he takes his meds at random times, etc. All this to say................................he's driving for effing Uber. Like, the man who has gotten in more car crashes than anyone I know, cannot look straight or stop shaking, is driving for Uber. Good lord.
In other news, back to NY today, so womp.

@SkilledSailor Yes! It was my 10th grade winter formal. He was my friend's date. It was the first of many times we crossed paths. In 11th grade, he was the date of one of my other friends and we actually have one of the group pictures they did at high school dances with us both in it from 2001. We went to different high schools but were both in swim team and had a lot of mutual friends. We didn't start dating until I was a freshman in college. I had just broke up with my high school boyfriend and he came to visit mutual friends of ours. We hit it off and started dating a few months later.
