Anyone else's 2.5 year old NOT PTed?

I feel like I am in the minority on this board!

DD has used the potty a few times but she has never asked to use it (it is only with me prompting her). She's just not ready yet.

Oh well, as long as she is trained by kindergarten, right? =)

  • I just got DS potty trained, and he is 3.5.  I think you are fine :)

  • My DD is almost 3 and not Pted. We're trying, but she won't tell us when she has to go. We put her on the potty but she'll go in her pants 5 minutes later.
  • DS is 5 days older than your DD and is nowhere near pt'ed.
  • Mia's not! She is JUST starting to ask to have her diaper changed for poop and the other day even asked me to change her peed in diaper.  I think she's getting ready but I'm still waiting for her to be ready. I refuse to force her into it and have it take 4 months when it could take 1 weekend. It's her personality to be ready when she's ready and not look back from that point on.

  • We are in the same boat!  I am going to switch her to Pullups once our current diaper supply is gone, but other than that I'm not in a huge rush.

  • My DS's not potty trained yet.  Every now and then he'll tell us, but most of the time if he uses it it's because i ask him adn then sometimes he'll go and other times he wont.   I think you are fine.  My SIL pushed my niece and she ended up regressing and finally got potty trained at 4.. SIL pushed her when she was 2!
  • mine!  he'll use the potty on and off but he's not consistent at all!

  • My DD has never successfully used the potty.  I'm amazed at how successful other people have been with it because my DD just doesn't get it at all.
  • Dd is almost 29 months old & not potty trained.  She has no interest in the potty.  Heck I just got her to finally let me put her hair up, only b/c I told her I'd cut her hair if she didn't but heck, it worked!

  • My oldest was almost 3 when she was PTed.  I realized that she was ready and I wasn't.  I didn't want to work with her like I needed to or know what I really needed to do to train her.  By the time they tell you that they have to go, they are potty trained so expecting them to be able to tell you they need to go isn't going to happen.  You have to get them in the habit of sitting on the potty and they will start to get the hang of it.
  • Allison is not.  Kaitlyn was 4 before she was PTed
  • No mine isn't either but I was just looking for a potty training book to buy last night because I think we're going to work on it. I just need to know what I'm doing so we can do it right the first time with little or no frustrations.

  • Mine's not.  She does go a few times a day, sometimes she asks, sometimes we have to ask if she wants to.  But, eh.  She has never done anything until she's good & ready.  We can't push her, it just doesn't work.
  • Mine isn't either.  She asks periodically, but if I suggest it I get a big no.  So, I don't push and will just let it happen.

  • My DD will be 3 in March and she's not PTed.  She is getting better about sitting on the potty on a regular schedule and she usually goes at some point every day, but it's not consistent, and she doesn't ask (and doesn't seem to care when she goes in her pants).

  • I really think they just have to be ready on their own, no matter the age.

I tried in August when DD was 2.2 and she wasn't having it. Around November she stopped pooping in her pamper completely and in December we went to underwear and she was just ready.

It'll happen, they won't go to college in diapers!
