Ok, go to google images and type in the name of the place where you last traveled to for a vacation. Show us the 4th picture that pops up! And tell s where it is and why you loved/hated it.
We last went to Yountville (Napa), CA. We go every year. It was a bit drizzley this time, but usually the weather is great (it IS California after all!). There is so much good food (and drinks, obviously) to be had in the area. I especially love visiting all the little downtown areas for the little shops too.
Mostly I just love the it's a vacation where we can really relax (which is especially difficult for MH) and just have fun.
Mine was Croatia! The picture is their big national park, Plitvice Lakes, which has 16 lakes and literally hundreds of waterfalls. It was gorgeous! (As was the rest of Croatia). I loved Croatia because it was cheap, the food was great, it was beautiful and had everything- beaches, medieval towns, its where they film GoT...its amazing!
Memphis! We did a long weekend there in March and had a blast visiting music history sites (including Beale Street), the zoo, and the National Civil Rights Museum. We also ate many donuts from Gibson's Donuts, which I still think wistfully about on many a morning...
Iceland! MH and I went there in January for our honeymoon. I have no idea where in the country this is a picture of, but we stayed in Reykjavik for a couple weeks and LOVED it. We got to see the northern lights, go to the blue lagoon (an amazing geothermal hot spring/spa), and generally sight see and eat tasty food. Now we want to go back in summer!
Amsterdam! I loved it. Lots of really good veg food. Super cute architecture. Tons of museums. Our hotel (Andaz) was nice. Good drinks at bars. Loved that it was so walkable. Edibles are my jam for sleeping. Really good cheese and apple pie.... honestly it was just really great. Things I didn't love? Flying out of that airport is INSANE. Next time I'd take a train elsewhere and fly out of there. Also it's overwhelmingly crowded on weekends so next time I'd make sure our trip is strictly M-F.
Ireland! DH and I went a little more than a month ago, and loved it! It was beautiful, the people were nice, and the food/cider/whiskey was delicious. The picture is of Dromoland Castle which was our last stop, and hands down the fanciest place we've ever been in our lives.
Our last real vacation was our honeymoon to Mexico. I searched the specific name of the resort because it was amazing. This picture is from the sun deck that is on the 2nd floor of the room style we stayed in. Yeah, that's right, a private sundeck and pool in the room. It was amazing. I really want to go back.

I love this game and am so jealous of yall's travels! Especially @kiwi2628 and @darkstar42.
@kiwi2628 I love your reasons as to why Croatia was fabulous! It has pushed me to push it towards the top of our travel list. I didn't realize they shot GoT there! Did you get to see some of the sites?
@darkstar42 That's so adventurous of you and your H to go there for your honeymoon! We're very likely going with a friend group in March. Do you have any tips or must do's?
The last place we went on our honeymoon in June was Venice. It's easily one of our favorite places we've ever been. You don't realize how much background noise there is in a city with cars until you are in Venice. There was such a peace about it. Plus the food was fabulous and the shopping was on point.
@JennyColada Napa sounds lovely! Do you live close to there or is it just a favorite spot so you travel to it?
@doxiemoxie212 Glad to hear it's veg friendly! Amsterdam is on my travel wish list as well. What was so crazy about the airport?
@Cricket648 That castle looks beautiful! My dad's family is Irish and always felt like I should go at some point but worry about getting bored. Did you find there was enough to do and see there? I guess I just imagine lots of greenery with not much else.
@fishsticks-n-custard Um your honeymoon looks fabulous! Seriously! A pool with a view from your room?!
@SkilledSailor, it gets better, on the first floor of the room you have the bedroom/bathroom/sitting area/etc. and there's a jacuzzi hot tub that opens onto your balcony (and that's in all the rooms, not just the expensive ones). Can you tell I'm obsessed with this place now?
Spoiler because the picture is huge:

If you shop around and have flexible dates, usually you can find deals for them. The food is amazing and I found the shows entertaining (though admittedly I was pretty tipsy most of the time).

@SkilledSailor oh lord the Amsterdam airport. We flew delta, directly from Amsterdam back to NYC for whatever it's worth. Here's what happened:
you get to the airport and start in one main hub (you're not dropped off by terminal), so you walk like 5-10 min with all your checked bags to your terminal. Then go up a few floors. Then wait in a very long line to check bags. Then walk up more stairs. Then wait in a long line. Answer a bunch of random questions (this was right after the Muslim ban so I don't know if it was related?? But it was absolutely everyone so shrug). Then wait in I KID YOU NOT a 90 minute line. Then the security stations were like... if you can picture a grocery line checkout but with one check out guy (security guy) and like 6 stations. The guy in the center gives a lot of instructions (except DH went to a different kiosk than I did and got zero instructions) such as every single thing needs it's own bin, and you have to remove all cords and electronics from your bags. Then you wait to get scanned. Then you wait for your bags. Then invariably your bags have to be researched because you've left SOMETHING in the depths of a pocket. Literally every single person gets researched so you wait in another line. THEN YOU GET IN A LONG ASS PASSPORT LINE!
It literally took us 3.5 hours, and by this point we had 20 min before our flight left, and we were gate 51, and it started at 1! And then, we finally get there with 5 min to spare, AND THERES ANOTHER SECURITY CHECK! Literally made me take off my boots and swipe around in them, unpack all our bags again, etc. Its BANANAS! I asked friends after and if you just take a train to anywhere else there's nothing crazy at all so it's not drug related.
I absolutely LOVE this thread! I want to go to all of these places now!
The last place we vacationed was Napa so I picked a different pic than @JennyColada. We went in April and it was our vaca before TTC It was even more beautiful and fun and relaxing than I expected!
Costa Rica. My parents live there so I try and get down at least once a year to get some sun and surfing in. They are 100 m from a great beach with perfect little waves. I love it down there.
@SkilledSailor We definitely weren't bored, but I think it depends on where you go in Ireland. There's tons too do in Dublin, and Killarney is beautiful (it was our favorite stop), but we didn't care so much for Cork (if we spend more than a couple days there, we might have gotten bored).
@cricket648, aww, I studied abroad in Cork and loved it! I could see that it might be more fun as a resident than as a tourist, though. Not a lot of high-interest tourist things to do in the city itself, though it was a great home base for exploring the surrounding areas.
@Augusta108 Don't get me wrong, we still had a great time in Cork! We thought Kinsale was adorable and saw Charles Fort (DH loves that kind of thing). We just liked Dublin and Killarney more.
Napa looks beautiful. I'm trying to convince DH we should go over Christmas (I've never been to California).
DH and I did a road trip around Europe for our honeymoon, but our last stop was Belgium- we spent the day in Bastogne before staying in Brussels.
Bastogne is actually a beautiful town. A lot of the tourism is WWII related, and they have an amazing museum. We definitely want to go back and explore some more.

The last place I went to was Vienna, Austria. It was beautiful! A lot of history, beautiful architecture and very clean. We had two friend who lived there, so we stayed with them and they showed us around the city an took us to some very nice restaurants. I would love to go back at Christmas time.

@darkstar42 We just got back from Iceland a few weeks ago! I think I recognize the photo, too. If I'm not wrong, that waterfall is in northeast Iceland (we drove around the entire island). That canyon is the largest in Iceland, if I'm thinking about the right place.
@hollieileen They live in Palm Beach Estates (Playa Grande/Tamarindo area). They have a home that they do vacation rentals with and a small bachelor apartment that they live in full time. I just love being on the beach down there. So pretty and peaceful. Where have you gone in CR?
@nitnat007 Nice! We were near playa Hermosa for a few days, then drove down the coast, stopped in Jaco on our way to Utiva for the Envison Festival a few years ago
@lalalaj Santorini is my faaaavorite! We went two years ago for DH's bar trip, and I keep trying to think of excuses to go back. Which area did you stay in?
@doxiemoxie212 We stayed in Oia right on the cliffs (just on the other side of the blue domes in the photo). Crazy little cave apartment with low ceilings - but It really was perfect. We went to Athens and Aegina when we were there, also... the whole trip was spectacular.

I'm currently on our annual family vacation to Hilton Head. I love relaxing by the pool.
But it the last one I consider a real vacation was to Shanghai in March. It was amazing! We went to
Disneyland and toured the city!

My my last BIG vacation was Ireland. I loved everything. The people, food, history, scenery, night life... my favorite stop was Kinsale, Co Cork.
Maui in May. It was a magical place, so healing. I want to visit all of the Hawaiians islands on a future trip someday.
We went to Greece in April- Santorini was even more beautiful in person. And, man, I love Greek food.
