    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
Only 4 weeks! I'm due April 1 but I'll deliver a week early due to having a repeat c-section, so I'm hanging here! I think baby is the size of a poppy seed right now.

    2) How are you feeling?
Ok so far, just some slight nausea here and there plus exhaustion in the afternoon, but for me, symptoms don't usually hit until 6ish weeks.

    3) Any appointments this week?
I'll probably get one more beta draw tomorrow, but I still need to call and set up my first appt.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I still can't really believe I'm here! It took us quite a few months to conceive this time and it still hasn't really sunk in that I'm pregnant. I'll feel a lot better when first tri is over, for sure.
  • GG620 I'm basically copying yours....

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby? 6 weeks today

    2) How are you feeling? Same as @GG620 ...struggling working full time and taking care of a 2 year old by myself on weekends while so nauseous and exhausted, any tips?

    3) Any appointments this week? no ultrasound until 7-10 weeks so havent booked yet

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? bad aversions (am just able to eat carbs), plus nausea and tiredness is just really really rough, will be totally worth it in the end, just hard not to feel a tad down
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    8 weeks. Baby's the size of a raspberry.  <3

    2) How are you feeling?
All the nausea, all the time. I switch between feeling sick and being ravenously hungry. I think around 8 weeks was the worst when I was pg with my son, so I'm hoping it'll start getting better sooon.

    3) Any appointments this week?
I have my 8 week appointment with a nurse on Friday where they do a ton of bloodwork and go over my health history.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My PGAL brain has me nervous that I don't have another ultrasound until 12 weeks, but I'm trying to remind myself that my awful morning sickness is probably actually a good thing.

  • 1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
Im due March 4th, the baby is the size of a raspberry

    2) How are you feeling?
Im feel so much better this week than last week. I went to the doctor Saturday morning. I had a complete breakdown and vented to my doctor(she's been my doctor since I was in high school) she gave me a list of tasks to complete as far as my next appointment, insurance stuff and about my ultrasound. She's not a OBGYN, so unfortunately I won't be seeing her throughout my pregnancy.(I'm in the process of researching a few different hospitals and OBGYN)

    3) Any appointments this week?
     I h
ave a follow up appointment Wednesday and hopefully my first ultrasound this week. If they are booked I will pay $100 out of pocket to go to planned parenthood and get a ultrasound, update, see the heartbeat and they give you at least two photos. Apparently it's a new service they offer which I think is great because ultrasounds are very expensive.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Ive never been much of a crier but this week the tears have been coming down and I must say I felt soooo much better after.

    question:
I have been taking NatureMade prenatal vitamins with DHA and folic acid. My doctor prescribed me SE-Natal (19 tablets)....to save money can I continue taking naturemade or is SEnatal a special type of prenatal?

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
I am 9 weeks today. Baby is a medium green olive (technically EDD is 2/25/18, but I'm hoping March)
    2) How are you feeling?
SOOOO sleepy! I could sleep 20 hours a day if allowed to. That's been my feeling since about week 6.
    3) Any appointments this week?
My first appointment isn't until August 2 so not yet.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing really. Just feeling guilty for being so tired and unproductive. It's a blessing that I've started working from home because I can nap if I really need to, plus I enjoy the kind of work I do so much more. But I feel guilty when I think of all the pregnant ladies trying to keep their eyes open at their desks. And I have been much less productive the last month. :/
  • kmallskmalls member
@marchmuva a quick google search says SE-Natal 19 is used as a prenatal. I'd definitely confirm this with your doctor rather than Internet strangers, but I would think you'd need to stop taking the NatureMade prenatals as both contain iron, and that's not something you want a double dose of. But call your doctor, for real.

  • 1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
7 weeks, the size of a blue berry!

    2) How are you feeling?
Tired...alllll the time. Bloated. Nauseous. Either starving or wanting to throw up at the thought of food. Excited, but worried.

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nope, already had an OBGYN appointment at 6 weeks 2 days. Next one is at 10 weeks.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Why am I so bloated???!!! (Rhetorical question, more of a rant) ready for extreme bloating to end

@sunnyoh_1989 have you tried switching to a gummy prenatal? That made a world of difference for me when I was miserable with bloat last pregnancy!
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
Due 3/18 so 6 weeks now! Baby is the size of a chocolate chip :)

    2) How are you feeling?
Feeling tired more than normal but otherwise great!

    3) Any appointments this week?
I wish. My first U/S is not until August 29th :(

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I am really wanting to start telling people! With our first we waited until 8 weeks. We will not have an u/s until 11 weeks so I don't know when we will say something this time. We have started talking about a baby to our LO (21 months) so I am kind of hoping he will spill the beans :)

    1) How far along are you
? How big is baby?   5 Weeks, the size of a peppercorn.

    2) How are you feeling? The usual nausea and bloat. Still anxious since I'm PGAL, but doing better about it.

    3) Any appointments this week? Tomorrow is my first U/S to determine placement. I'm so excited.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I hope this bloat goes down before my best friend's wedding. With bloat I can barely fit in the bridesmaid dress. =O

  • 1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?  7 weeks/blueberry

    2) How are you feeling? Miserable. All day nausea. My nurse said to take 25 mg b6 and unisom together before bed. It's helping a bit with the mornings but by 4 pm I'm dying. It's a never ending hangover. Twice I've gotten super bad cramps but never any spotting.

    3) Any appointments this week? Nope not til Aug 2. It's my daughter's 3rd birthday though this week!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions. We're going to the amusement park for my daughter's actual birthday and I'm debating riding. I'll only be 8 weeks. Thoughts? I definitely wouldn't after 1st tri but this 3rd baby makes me a lot more lax this pregnancy. This is also the only pregnancy I've been sick. My other two were pretty easy 1st and 2nd tri. Oh and my almost 17 month old decided to stop sleeping so fml.

  • I'm such a dummy!!! For some reason I was thinking I'm a Monday ticker change but I'm definitely Sunday! Yesterday my app said 5 weeks and I was like, wait? What? Why? Duuuuh.

Due 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25? Then your ticker changes today!

    1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
5 weeks!! You know, I have no idea how big baby is :) I'm terrible at looking at that until I start making weekly progress pics.

    2) How are you feeling?
Really good. I'm actually very suspicious and waiting for the constant need to vomit. With DS I had terrible "morning" (aka all day) sickness and I'm just so nervous waiting for it to start again. I don't even feel pregnant, except for a little bloating. Went to the gym at 5am today!! Waa hoo!

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nope. I just moved and still haven't found an OB. I checked in with my old OB, but finding a new one is on my to-do list today. It's so hard to figure out all the hospitals in a new area, which one you want to deliver at (how should I know!?) and who's covered under insurance and also delivers where you want to go!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

I wonder when OBs normally confirm the heartbeat? Is it 8 weeks?

@SoraLk we are due date buddies!!!
  • @SoFlaMommie1128 I am having similar thoughts!! DS will be 22 months when this new LO arrives and I just keep wondering, how?! How will I do this !!!

@GG620 I love the positive attitude!! I seriously think positivity can have an amazing impact. And focusing on it really helps to push negativity away and makes you less stressed! You are awesome!

@kmalls did you decide on a repeat CS just with your doctor? I haven't had an appointment yet so haven't been able to ask, but I'm wondering how people decide on a repeat CS vs attempt at vaginal birth.

@alice0218 why are you hoping for March? :-) just wondering, because so many people desperately hope not to go late! LOL

@Jessicakent08 august 29th!!! Is your OB super booked?! That feels like forever away. :-(

@rsquaredr HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DD! So exciting!! I would definitely avoid the rides :-)
  • kmallskmalls member
@kitandcat you'll decide with your OB what's right for you! Some people are better candidates for VBAC than others. I attempted a VBAC with my second pregnancy, but because it didn't work out I won't have the option of trying again -- so this will be my third c-section.
  • @kitandcat my old OB  (insurance changed when I was 30 weeks pregnant with dd2) never confirmed by anything. We chose to do the nt scan so we saw the baby then. But otherwise they don't do ultrasounds til the anatomy scan. It was the same with dd2 2 yrs ago but I wasn't sure so they did an ultrasound to get an edd. This new ob- when I told her I was about 5 weeks she said they'll do an ultrasound at my first appt. I was surprised !
  • Due 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25? Then your ticker changes today!

    1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
    6 weeks - ladybug
    2) How are you feeling?
Terrible!! I am very happy to have symptoms though, but yesterday I had all day nausea and that is looking like it will be a trend. I took vitamin B and unisom last night (homemade diclegis per dr recommendation) and it did help me eat this morning, but now the general ick is back.
    3) Any appointments this week?
    Tomorrow is first u/s!!!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
It sucks going to work feeling like this but such is life!

@kitandcat You can do a fair amount of research on hospital websites and when you have it narrowed down, you can pick a couple and go tour them. For me where I am, there are two in the immediate area that deliver babies.
Hospital A is non-religious and has a level four NICU. They also recently remodeled the L&D ward. Each labor room has a tub, a shower, is big and nice (with things like a DVD player and a mini fridge). You also deliver in room if you aren't doing a c-section. They seem mostly open to doing births that are less clinical but still in a hospital setting for emergencies. No one asked about gentle c-sections.
Hospital B is religious. Which can restrict some of their care. For example, some people will say that if they end up having a c-section, they want a tubal ligation while they're in there. Oftentimes doctors are not allowed to at a religious hospital. So you need to ask how religion affects care there and be sure you're comfortable with all of it. They also have a level three NICU (which is lower than the other). Rooms were pretty small. One person asked and I do believe they do gentle c-sections. They also have a doula program there which is pretty awesome.

Ultimately, I chose A based on the fact that everything else was okay and they had the better NICU. I'm a worst case scenario person so I wanted the better NICU to avoid having to have my baby transferred to another hospital and then being stuck in one when my baby is in another.

Do some research and thinking about your priorities and ideal birth plan and your plan b birth plan and look for a place that matches.

  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
I believe I am 5 weeks (as of Sun). Baby is the size of an Appleseed.

    2) How are you feeling?
I am feeling quite bloated, a little nausea here and there. Some heart palpitations - strong at times.  I am also experiencing some mild cramping a Sat/Sun had some dark brown spotting which  I never experienced with  first pregnancy, so I am a little on edge.

    3) Any appointments this week?
No appointment this week. First will be August 8
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Anyone else ever experience the cramping and dark spotting?  As I did with my first, I hate pants and its only week 5. ha Here we go again! Love it.

@kmalls Obviously I know it is a prenatal, I was asking the question to decipher which one is better. That was very rude of you to tell me don't ask internet strangers a simple question. This is a platform to ask questions. Did I state I would take them both at the same time? No I did not, I asked was SEnatal anymore special than a drug store prenatal. Next time read.
"question:  I have been taking NatureMade prenatal vitamins with DHA and folic acid. My doctor prescribed me SE-Natal (19 tablets)....to save money can I continue taking naturemade or is SEnatal a special type of prenatal?"

@marchmuva ugh it's too early in the day for this. Nowhere in your original post was the question asked "is SEnatal any more special than a drug store prenatal." You asked if you could continue taking naturemade, which to me implied you were asking if you could take both at the same time. Sorry if I misunderstood.

In any case, that's still a question you should ask your doctor -- if she prescribed you something different while knowing you were already taking an over the counter prenatal, I would assume her reasoning is that the prescription is better. But that was my point -- internet strangers wouldn't know what your doctor is thinking, so it's best to go right to the source.
  • @kitandcat My birthday is in March so that's mainly why. March just seems like a better month for a birthday. Everyone is still hibernating in February. Although of course, like anything else, as long as it's a healthy baby who really cares right?  ;)
  • Posting on Sunday now that I have a confirmed due date.  :) Except I'm late this week.

    1) How far along are you
    ? How big is baby?
    7 weeks - blueberry

    2) How are you feeling?
So tired. Like @alice0218, I work from home, so I do have the luxury of a lunch time nap. I'm very thankful for that, but pregnancy insomnia is also a thing right now, so I would love to sleep for a few hours.

    3) Any appointments this week?
Nope. Not until 10 weeks, which seems like a lifetime away.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave - I'm still BFing my 11 month old and I have officially entered my last month of pumping! My supply has also increased just a little (after a huge tank in supply in earlier weeks), but every little bit counts!
