Hi mamas,
we found out the other day that our little girl is breech at 37 weeks. At first, I wasnt concerned because I figured there was still plenty of time for her to flip, but when I met with doctors later that day, they told me to start making the decison to have either an aversion (where they manually flip the baby) or schedule a c section. Obviously I started leaning towards c section because I know so many of my friends that have had them and were happy with the decision. But my doctor seems to be set on the aversion, which I hear is brutal and the chances of it even working are a very low percentage. Has anyone had one or have any advice?! Thanks!

Otherwise, I would say I hope for the best decision for you.
I scheduled a 39 + 6 c section with the hope that he still had time to flip. They will let you cancel it that same day if baby has flipped by then, so there is no real downside to booking your slot so you get the day and doctor you prefer.
The new ob with whom I booked the c/s thought there was no way he was flipping with his position and my fluid level, and he didn't. He was born with his legs straight up by his face!

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says the success rate is more than half, and the American Academy of Family Physicians says it's 65%. https://m.acog.org/Patients/FAQs/If-Your-Baby-Is-Breech?IsMobileSet=true#successful

I also wouldn't describe it as "brutal" based on what my friends who've had them have told me. Uncomfortable? Yes. Will you be sore afterwards? Yes. But everyone I know who's had one was happy they did so and went on to successfully have a vaginal birth.
