Bleeding during a strenuous BM

I'm 9 weeks today and I noticed a lot of bright red blood in the toilet following a "very strenuous bowel movement".
 I checked to make sure where the blood was coming from (and it was coming from my vagina) I put in a pad  (I carry incontinence pads with me because of incontinence issues since I've been pregnant)
and then I've had some extremely light spotting (red) following the bowel movement. No pain.  (Up to this point I've not had any spotting at all)
 Has this happened to anybody else? I called my midwife and she just told me to wait and see what happens... if I was going to miscarry there was nothing I could do to prevent it but if I started bleeding heavily on to the pad to go to the emergency department immediately...
... so I am an emotional wreck right now I'm 44 years old I don't want to lose this last chance to be a mother.

    So sorry you're going through this. I have not gone through this, but I also wait if I feel like a BM will be strenuous because I don't want to "push" too much and cause any issues. Your midwife is right though, it is just a wait and see time. If you can take something to make your bm's easier to manage, it would be helpful.

    I'be had some spotting so far. Mostly light brown and I've had 2 sonos that have shown everything looks good. The other day I did have some pink spotting after a BM and when I turned to Dr Google I learned many experience that. It's so hard to stay calm but just try to relax and don't stress.

    Your cervix is sensitive during pregnancy so it is not uncommon to spot after a strenuous bowel movement or sex so what you experienced can often be considered normal.

    Best of luck. I really hope that the bleeding was just from that

    This happened to me once in my first pregnancy and as @sabriel1 said, my understanding is that it can be from a sensitive cervix.  I hope that is your explanation there. X

    I second the sensitive cervix thing.  Mine is a little friable - meaning it bleeds easily.  So not only do you have lots more blood when you're pregnant, you can rupture blood vessels during a BM.  My spotting after implantation had stopped by week 6 but I have had some minor streaks of blood after a particularly vigorous BM.  Something to ask your OB - and also ask whether you have an incompetent cervix. They should be able to see that via u/s and will sew ya up as far as I understand.
