Letters to your baby...

I sort of started this with my son where I journaled my thoughts on what I'd want to say to him at various stages of his life. I'm going to start it again for baby girl but thought it would be a fun post to share.

If you were to write a letter to your baby, what would you say?

I love the idea of writing to your children at different stages of their life.
  • I write postcards to DD and this baby when we travel; what they did, learned, enjoyed, and my reflection on the trip.

  • I LOVE this idea. I made email addresses for my kiddos and send them random emails when they do something particularly sweet or funny. For me, it's easier than a baby book because I can do it whenever I think to. We've also shared the email addresses with our parents so they can send them emails, too. I never thought about writing letters to them before they arrive. I guess I'll be making a new email address today for baby Sam. :)
  • Great idea. We probably won't do a letter, but I saw a story of a dad who bought a Dr. Seuss book (I think, Oh the Places You Will Go) and had teachers write a message in it each year. He then gave it to his daughter at her high school graduation as a surprise.

I plan to buy that book. We will write a message in it when she is born and then start with her daycare teachers and add each year.
  • I love this idea, when I became pregnant my mother handed me a journal that she kept with me through her whole pregnancy. Now I want to do this for my baby. I love this ideas.                                                                        Sweet Pea,
I want to let you know there is no other love like a mothers love. When you come out I never loved something much as you! This feeling of going to be a mother to a beautiful child makes all my dreams come true. Daddy is so excited to see you. He talks to every night and tells you how much he loves you! We are so excited to finally be a family. I cannot wait for November! I wish it was here. Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to find out if your a boy or a girl. Thank you for being my perfect miracle. I will always love you!

I did this so well for my firstborn- weekly letters just about. 2ndborn got  a handful of letters and this poor baby has just 1 or 2. Ah well.... This baby is going to get a better mama. It all balances out in the end. no guilt!
